Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills

An amazing place. Vietnam, and Mercure, have built an Instagram playground and look to be continuing to expand this fantasy world on the top of Bana Hills. The cable car itself was a fantastic experience. Once arriving, above the clouds, the hotel staff helped us settle in to our room and orient ourselves. Don’t miss the pool. No supermarket.

Property itself is truly unique and a must experience.. but do read the fine prints on rules and check in regulations before booking your flights.. they have fairly strict and awkward check in process.. that can be quite confusing and troublesome for some people.. at entrance you must pay around $20 per person to just take you up to the hotel via cable car.. 30 min ride .. then you are suppose to be greeted by a bust person to help you with luggage and directions for the long walk up hills to the check in area.. somehow they had forgotten about us and we had to ask employees at ba na hills amusement park to contact the hotel for us.. then we waited for 30 minutes before a hotel staff finally came and help with our luggage and guide us to the hotel.. it gets cold in the afternoon and fog comes in very quick.. after 8 you cannot see anything due to heavy fogs. room are small but comfortable.. Despite having several restaurants, almost everyone ate at the buffet for breakfast lunch and dinner… the stay was only worthy because we wanted to be first to see golden palm bridge at 7am.. by 9am bus loads of tourist poured in and it became extremely hectic.. just 1 night is all that was needed.

It took 30’ to register at the hotel counter then it took another 60’ to have room allocated. No entertainment at night time, it’s so boring to stay overnight. Pool is terrible. The only thing good is buffet restaurant. Staff service is terrible.

My primary criticism was with the check-in process. Arrival at the base of resort, and initial check-in there was very efficient. No complaints there. The problem was when I arrived off the the tram. I had no clear idea of where to go to find the hotel main reception, though I had a a vague idea from google maps for the area. There is absolutely no signage at the exit of the tram. I stumbled upon an "entrance" that was marked as Mercure Hotel, so I entered. This was the second floor so I took the elevator to ground floor, hoping to find the reception. The elevator opened to a chaos of luggage and people sitting around, being serviced by one young lady at a a small desk. I figured this couldn't be the "main" reception area for the hotel (turns out it wasn't) but neverheless tried to check-in here. I eventually was able to check-in though my room was in their "main" building and was eventually escorted there by one of the "bellboys". So here's what I didn't know, and strong suggestions for the hotel to help out with customer check-in. One: it is not clear on your website or in any of your communications that the Mercure Hotel is actually several buildings, with names such as Hotel de Nice, Hotel de Marseille, Hotel de Paris (main), Hotel de Toulouse, and I might be missing one. Dear management, please provide a suitable map on your website identifying ALL your hotel buildings, and clear instructions as to where to go upon exiting the usual tram.

Helt greit hotell, vi var ikke klar over at bassenget og gymmen og frokosten var plassert «litt her og der» i landsbyen, så det trakk litt ned - men det kan ha vært at vi gjorde for lite research også. Hyggelige ansatte og greie rom, og så er det absolutt verdt å bo en natt i Ba Na hills for å få utforsket ordentlig uten all folkemengden:-) En fin opplevelse!

The staff are top notch, always attempting to take your luggage to its destined location. The food was great, although prices are quite expensive due to its location and facilities. Plan to spend roughly double your room costs on food. Free drink vouchers are only good at the tavern, which was a let down given the same beer is poured all over the facility. The property is gorgeous and kind of a maze. Plan for two days to see and do everything. If you havent researched the location, you may be upset about the multiple extra costs. Even to approach the resort you must take a cable car, which was approximately 40$ per person. Children under 1m are free to eat at buffets and free to take the cable car. ATMs are available at the resort. Almost all activities inside the resort are an additional fee. This isnt a problem if you know in advance, otherwise, the sticker shock may sour your time here. Highly recommend, one of the best resorts ive stayed in all of my years of travel. Gondola up is approximately 30 minutes and quite high, if you have a fear of heights be cautious.

Good classic French hotel, right on the top of the hill, great for photo moments. The only downside is nothing to do at night, most of the places are closed. Selection of restaurants are also limited.

Disappointed on the whole! GOOD: cable car ride/seeing waterfall; golden bridge (hands made great photos), faux French village, day entertainment, fun alpine coasters & beautiful spiritual area (temples & pagodas). Breakfast both days v good too & pool fun but cold. BAD: even tho’ we did on line check in, we still had to wait 20 mins in a hot room to check in & then at the top we had a further 10 min wait for key card. We were put in the Toulouse hotel which was fine/short walk to things BUT the walls were not soundproofed. Maybe they were but we had neighbours from hell. There was a huge number of people shouting outside our room at 5.30 a.m and they would not move nor be quiet when I asked them. There was a sign saying be quiet but they didnt care. Their wild kids rang our doorbell twice and then went on the balcony to shout. We rang reception but they never picked up. Also, the Medieval world rides didn’t start till 9 a.m but they played the music loudly from 7.45 & that was next to our room. The resort was boring in the evenings: we ate out both nights (food disappointing & dear for Vietnam) but everything was shut. There was an expensive show/buffet package but we didn’t want to pay any more money. I read there was mini golf but that seems to have gone.

The hotel was the most expensive we paid for whole in Vietnam but was by far the worse we stayed in. The corridor smelt of urine, the room was a bit dated and the shower didn't heat up. The breakfast buffet had a good choice but the food was cold.

Bana Hills is a very very very busy place be it at the hotel, or within the grounds of adventure park from morning to night. Quiet time 1am. The hotel’s rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff do their best to keep up with the volume of guests, and have little time for personal service but do their best to help when you ask.

Firm bed, spacious room, the bedsheets were not clean and there was always a damp smell that consistently pumped into the room like it came from the central cooling system. Not a great experience for a 4 star hotel

Good service, comfortable rooms, wide variety at breakfast. Bell hoppers will carry your baggage from point to point.

房間很小，床已經傾斜沒更換，住豪華加大雙人套房，不值這個一晚要6000台幣價位，床罩有沾染前個旅客遺留下來的咖啡液，沒洗乾淨！山上店家傍晚4點就沒營業了，很無聊沒地方去，剩幾間的餐廳喝酒選擇而已！山上夜晚很漂亮！

This was our second stay at this hotel and the best advice I can give is don't expect anything at all from the room outside it being a place to sleep. Otherwise you will be majorly disappointed. It lacks in almost everything you'd expect, but is obviously the only choice you have. Everything from the bathrooms to the windows leaking rain to the dusty rooms is so underwhelming it almost seems as if it's by design to get you to be out and about all day, and not there. It's actually pretty sad because Ba Na Hills is a wonder of this world and calls for 5-star Intercontinental-level hotels. This hotel would be average at best if it was in the city, and likely 25% of the price you pay to be amongst the beauty that is Ba Na Hills. The saving grace is the staff is excellent, as if everyone in the hospitality industry in Vietnam.

Loved the experience. Room has mould in corner and on curtains. Staff helpful and friendly until you leaving and we had to take luggage down lots of elevators.

At the bottom of the hill only three counters were open despite the crowds, and staff seemed inexperienced. Hotel & Facilities: While the exterior is beautiful, the property is dated and poorly maintained. Common areas, especially toilets, were dirty, smelly, and broken — not what you expect from a “premium” hotel. Rooms: The bathroom has no real divider, so sound and smell carry through, and with no ventilation, odors linger. Poor design for the price paid. Food & Dining: Easily the weakest part. The menu is very limited, especially at night, and what’s served often looks nothing like the pictures (see the Margherita pizza). Vegetarians get maybe three options, and staff won’t accommodate more. Everything is overpriced. The red velvet cake was the worst I’ve eaten — shocking for a French brand like Mercure/Accor. Breakfast was equally bad: the restaurant smelled, the spread was low quality, hash browns tasteless, toast not properly done, coffee lousy, and the “vegetarian corner” inedible. Staff & Service: Most staff were unfriendly, and some outright rude. Restaurant staff especially seemed untrained. Plenty of people, but no service. Overall, the property has so much potential, but Mercure is running it poorly. For the price, the experience is disappointing and nowhere near premium.

We travelled as a group of 4 and couldn’t book the spa together because they only had 2 staff on. Embarrassing for a hotel of that size. Unacceptable. The food was always cold on the buffet and for the price they charge, also embarrassing. The rooms are dark and dreary and musty. Will not recommend. The only thing positive that I can say is that the bell hops were great.

It was too noisy. We could hear the noise from outside and from the rooms close to us

Our stay at Hotel de Paris had both highlights and disappointments. The room itself was nice, featuring windows that opened to provide fresh air and some glimpses of the park. The facilities were good and housekeeping maintained the room to a satisfactory standard. However, our experience was significantly impacted by noise issues. Throughout our stay, we encountered disruptive sounds from the corridors, neighboring rooms, and the floor above, which resulted in poor sleep quality during the nights. The breakfast buffet was served from 6:30 to 9:30am with reasonable options available. While the location and room amenities had appeal, the noise factor was a major drawback to our overall experience. For future visits, we would consider exploring different room types or alternative accommodation options within the hotel to potentially avoid similar issues.

The bedroom is small compared with the price. The wifi is slow.

Ba Na Hills is awesome. The hotel is tired, overly crowded, busy and tired. Just an example. Safe didn't work on arrival. Air con didn't work on arrival. Didn't take crwdor catf details so couldn't charge anything to the room the whole stay. Door wouldnt open on return after dinner and had to call maintenance to remove lock and let us in (seriously broken) had to beg to be given extended checkout by a few hours (supposed to be a gold privilege) no room upgrade but room available. Breakfast finishes at 9.30am and is a total s...fight. What a nightmare. The whole thing needs a reset! Sorry

Superior Room, 1 King Bed. We reached the first entrance at the bottom of the cable car. This was our first time there so when they sent us up the cable car, we thought the reception area would be close by. We were very wrong and it was quite difficult to find the correct building to check in. There were also some other couple who were lost as well. After searching several buildings, trying to call the main reception area, we finally stumbled upon the correct building. Very bad start. The employees we met were very friendly, but we should have been informed about the process. The room itself is not good for any groups. The toilet has no real privacy. The bed was actually too soft and I woke up with my back and neck stiff and aching. Some rides are free, but some are not. The buffets are ok, but it's kind of ridiculous that soda is not included. We paid 40k for a small can of soda at the buffet. They have complimentary juice available, but you have to pay for water and soda.

The walls in the room are paper thin, I can hear clearly into the adjacent rooms and the hallways. That means screaming kids and all while you’re tying to sleep. However, the location is pretty much where you want it to be. I wouldn’t recommend staying more than one night specially if you’ve gone to a lot theme parks in your life. Ba Na Hills felt just like that. Not saying it’s a bad thing but for someone who’s been to theme parks a lot, traveling to Vietnam and being in a theme park may not be what you’re looking for. Nonetheless, it’s a beautiful place and a must go.

The hotel was built in the theme park, which made it so convenient for us to walk around at night. We visited the beer garden, which was just minutes away from our hotel and enjoyed the food there. The room itself was a little queer, because it was just a small window way above, and there was nowhere to open or look through it. But overall, the room was clean and spacious to put two 29inch luggage and move around easily. The service staff who attended to us were also friendly and keen to offer assistance whenever they could. We really appreciated their gestures! Because of such warm service, we truly had a pleasant night stay in Mercure French Village hotel in Bana hills!

It was great being able to stay within the theme park, the atmosphere and activities after dark were fun without the huge crowds since the lifts were closed. However the room is pretty poor, especially as a Mercure property. There is zero insulation and noise proofing. You could hear EVERYTHING both outside the hotel and into the hallways. We got very little sleep. Also the shower in the bathroom was just a showerhead into the room itself, so when you shower, the whole bathroom gets soaked. So if you wanted to use the toilet after anyone had showered, everything is drenched.

Had a deluxe room with balcony and the balcony was awesome, tons of plants and a table and chairs. They start music in hallways at 630am.....bit early if you want to sleep.

The location drew us to the property, however check in and particularly check out process was dreadful. No clear communication from staff and everything had to be requested for twice before reception staff remembers to complete the task (locating my luggage, checking room for check out finalisation, and for support to travel down the mountain). Facilities were underwhelming and I get the impression that everything was treated as transactional and not a great customer experience was being prioritised by reception staff. I stood in front of 2 staff, both looked more senior than the others, behind the reception desk upon check out just to be ignored by both who looked like they were too busy in training to acknowledge me and offering support. My only praise is for the men helping with handling of baggages. They were all friendly and very helpful. Not an experience I was expecting from Mercure.

There were no hotel towels in the room, there were smaller towels that were a bit bigger than a floor matt. We used them. After going out to explore and having the DO NOT DISTURB we came home to bath towels. 2 issues, firstly no one should have entered my room with that sign on, secondly why didn’t they just say at check in towels weren’t ready or something. Service was poor at the hotel bar also.

Context of the review, we are full-time travellers and stayed in everything from Airbnb’s to 5 star hotels. Checkin process down at the cable cars is an absolute nightmare, the staff were very slow and far from welcoming. As some of the other reviews state, if there were other hotels in Ba Na Hills these guys would struggle. The positive service was with the bellboys, they were great. Outside of them everyone else needs some serious training. The property itself definitely feels dated and just not very cared for almost as if they know they are the only hotel so they don’t need to try. The rooms were not bad, reasonable size for a family, but just lacked a nice hotel experience. The fact this is the only hotel in Ba Na Hills it would be hard to recommend, but sadly it’s the option if you want to stay up here. Pros: * it’s the only hotel up here so obviously an excellent location to visit Ba Na Hills. * Very convenient * Direct access to all the food attractions * Room size was not bad for a family of two adults and four kids under six * Bell boys were very helpful Cons: * It’s like they know they are the only hotel in Ba Na Hills so the service is not great and the property itself needs a full facelift as it’s very dated and aged and uncared for * Overall, just need some refresher training * Overall experience being in a hotel like this was just not great * Breakfast looks a lot better than it actually is

Although the existing staff were working hard there were too many guests that outnumbered the staff. We had to wait in queue for hours to check in. There were no clear instructions on where to go. The number of bell boys were limited as well

All excellent except for the check out process. I handed over the key and was told to wait 10 minutes while they check the room to finalize the check out. After 35 minutes of waiting I had to come up to check and was told everything is good. Either they forgot about me or they need to get a better system. Guests should not have to wait 30+ minutes to check out.

The check in at the cable car station is so messed up, waited more than 30 minutes just to check in and we were 4th in-line. After going to the 2nd floor, we realized there is another check-in counter.... No staff informed us of the options and we waited in line at the cable car lobby with most non-existent air conditioning.

So cool that it was in Bana Hill. Allowed us to do all that we want to in the area relating to theme park.

Excellent stay, the room was clean comfortable with a nice bed and bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast had many options and was very tasty. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel for early access to the Golden Bridge before the crowds start to arrive and also access to the other attractions during the evening.

Hotel was satisfactory but the resort was not to our taste. Need to warn guests staying at the hotel about paying extra fees per person for the cable car.

The only hotel at the top of the hill but qithimited activites at night. Nice scenic place though

When we arrived at the hotel, it was liked we stepped into a dream. It was very cloudy, but beautiful none the less. The Golden Bridge and Sculptures around it were absolutely beautiful. It was a very peaceful place to spend an overnight after leaving Saigon.

This is the best stay for your money. Early/Late access to the whole the park. We got some great pics. The hotel was perfect. Right in the middle of the park. Incredible.

Staying in this hotel was an incredible experience for us because of its location and architecture that makes you feel like royalty in a castle. Being a guest at this hotel comes with some unique perks, like early access to the famous “golden bridge” and VIP pass to skip the long lines to the cable car. I only wish we had been able to stay longer at this beautiful hotel.

One of a kind experience. Since we stay in the hotel on top of the mountain we got to experience the Golden Hour of the bridge without the crowds

We enjoyed our stay at Bana hills. Our room was very nice, spacious and well appointed. Buffet dinner and breakfast was great. Staying the night allowed us to enjoy bana hills atractoons at a leisurely pace.

Room was a 4 Star. The internet was a 2 Star and the breakfast as terrible, it was like a factory canteen. Mercure should be ashamed to offer this to guests.

Staff was very hospitable and helped in anyway possible. Hotel restaurant food was excellent serving Western to Viet cuisine.

The theme is an old French village, and the architecture reflects that. However, I wish the room had been bigger and cleaner. We can smell sewage every time we got back from our exploration which is a huge minus. The property itself is very pretty and huge. You'll need at least 2 days to fully explore. That said, it's up on the mountains, and the cable cars to get down stop operating around 4:30pm, I believe, which doesn't give you the option to leave for dinner elsewhere, and you're stuck with what they have to offer, which is a total of probably 3 restaurants that operate til 9pm since the rest of the place closes down at the same time the last cable car leaves. Food is alright, I'd say 6.5/10, and overpriced. Come for the architecture, not for the food

Bathroom was cramped, check-in slow. Breakfast bufffet had very poor selection of food on offer for Westerners. Not enough tongs were supplied for picking up food, people were using their fingers. Extremely unhygienic and a disaster waiting for someone to contract food poisoning. Whilst our room had a lovely view looking to the church and the bed was comfortable, this place is definitely not worth the cost to stay overnight.

Hotel was nice being within the theme park and had a good breakfast spread. Check in was not pleasant though as there were 2 large groups which held up the check in. No effort was made to serve the other guests until someone made a complaint then the supervisor came out. To be fair, the hotel check in staff did their best but should have had additional support. Room constantly had furniture dragging noises from above until late night. Overall still worth the stay to properly enjoy the park.

Stayed here because we wanted to enjoy the theme park more. However it was raining heavily when we were there. Hence, we could not enjoy the rides and scenery much.
