I found the Steigenberger El Tahrir by accident after arriving late at night and after a long journey. My original accommodation unbeknownst to me and which was booked online proved to be unsafe. It was a scary room in an empty building. I was so fortunate to find the Steigenberger nearby and that it was not completely booked. I felt safe and taken care of at this property. It is an accommodation with everything considered for travelers. A great place to unwind before seeing the sights of Cairo. My favorite was the business center with access to a computer with internet and a printer. I was traveling with my phone and this service saved time. The food was excellent and well presented. Magnificent breakfast buffet. Friendly front desk and staff. Airport pick-up was a great service as it can be tricky at the airport with taxi's and getting an Uber. I would definitely stay here again. Everything was above my expectations. The only unpleasant happening was when my friend was overcharged at the restaurant on his credit card. We are not sure if it was intentional or a mistake. This was quickly resolved at the front desk the next morning and refunded. The hotel is almost across the street from the original Egyptian museum which is open. Down the street is a government regulated souvenir shop (no bargaining). Directly across the street from security gate is a vendor selling drinks and snacks. Next time I hope to try the spa. Thank you so much for a great stay.

A truly amazing hotel in the heart of the Nile area. The hotel is soundproofed giving you a rare opportunity to enjoy the peace in this manic city. Staff and facilities were 5star. Very close to the Egyptian Musyrm to catch a view of King Tut’s regalia.

Lovely hotel - excellent location for all main activities in and around Cairo. The hotel is very secure - checks on all vehicles entering. Tour guides could find the hotel easily. Good choice of restaurants in the hotel. Live music in the bar in the evenings - very good. Room was comfortable. Only downside was the pool is very small and very noisy - despite the screening around it, it's impossible not to hear the Cairo traffic.

Hôtel super cool, sympa ! très près du musée Egyptien (à 100 mètres), situé en pleine place El-Tahir. très près des rues commerçantes. Piscine, sauna. massages pas chers (30 à 40 euros pour 50 mins selon les massages). Hôtel sécurisé. Je retourne sans doute. Je vous recommande cet hôtel. Il est juste près du Nil, la route rapide pour aller voir les pyramides.... et aussi il y a des métros très près (5 min à pied).

Wow this is the must stay property in Cairo! The hotel has it’s own little gated driveway and security which makes you feel VERY safe! The hotel is in a great location, walkable to The Egyptian Museum. Lots of eats and shops around also. The room was very comfortable and had great room amenities. We hung out at the pool twice and it was really lovely and has a nice bar with food options. The gym is quite nice for a hotel gym! We enjoyed the weights, machines, and cardio equipment. The best part of this hotel might just be their breakfast buffet!! Absolutely the best hotel buffet (maybe even just buffet period!) TONS of options! Stay here while in Cairo! The staff will make you feel very welcome and you won’t want to leave!

Hotel is in a great location and is in relatively good condition for its age. Service was good as well and hotel was clean for the most part. I did not try their restaurant. However, I did find a Bed Bug in my bed and had a few bites on my back from it. Thankfully there was only one and the hotel offered me to change rooms, free breakfast etc. to compensate. Decided to stay in my room after they cleaned it and did not have an issue the second night

The hotel staff was very nice and charming. The area was easy to walk around for dining and museum activities — a perfect stay in Cairo. The room was clean and quiet, and I had a patio overlooking the pool, which was a nice feature, though unfortunately bird droppings kept me from using it. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel if you’re visiting the Cairo area.

Room cleaning was the best I have seen in a long time in any hotel, it feels like the first day everytime it's cleaned. Staff are amazing and attentive. The dining area is beautiful and well decorated. The food tastes amazing especially by Chef Abdulrahman. So many choices and very well priced!

I would give 4.5 stars if possible. This hotel was great. Staff was friendly and professional. Hotel itself was very clean, upgraded and comfortable. The breakfast was also amazing, best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. Its crazy how many food options there are, and some meals change every day so breakfast isn’t always the exact same. You can even ask the chef to make you an omelette. The only reason I give the hotel 4/5 stars is because you can hear the traffic a bit at night. I’m a light sleeper but I was okay with ear plugs. The staff also said they have a plan in place to add in sound proof/double pane windows to reduce the noise, so thats awesome. The last thing is T.V. wise theres no apps like Netflix or anything haha. So I didn’t watch T.V. because it was all local channels. Having the option to wind down watching at.V. after a day out in the heat would have been nice. But yeah, amazing property and I would 100% stay there again next time I’m in Cairo. I felt super safe, taken care of and welcome. Thanks!

Decent stay. Hotel is in the heart of the city, so expect traffic to and fro the hotel. Rooms are nice and well equipped, but pretty small in sizes. Bathroom has a very strange smell when kept closed which was my only gripe.

Very good location right next to the El Tahrir square. Very pleasant experience on check-in: we arrived early and were not forced to wait for the check-in time. Not big but comfortable room. Safe box, iron and the board in the closet, sitter in the corridor that can be used also as a luggage rack, shoe cleaning set and a shoehorn. Fridge, kettle, tea, coffee. Excellent service. To close the room door one must really push it hard. My wife couldn’t close it. Slow internet, WhatsApp and Wi-Fi calling didn’t work. The VPN is blocked. All fixtures in the bathroom were loose ready to fall at the first rough touch. The mirror had integrated lights that didn’t work, making shaving a challenge because the main lights were on your back putting a shadow on your face. No heating in the room, though we were offered a portable heater. A/C and fresh air coming from outside worked. Very unpleasant view on half crumbled building in a bad shape and full of construction garbage on the street.

Our stay at Steigenberger Hotel El Tahrir Cairo was excellent. Riham gave us outstanding service throughout our visit and even surprised us with a beautiful cake for our wedding. Truly made our stay special. Highly recommended!

Staff was beyond responsive. The main problem was toxic gas. Someone in the city releases it and it gets sucked into their ac. At 4am one night and 1pm the next it happened. Not just smelly, dangerous. Made me ill. I had to keep the ac off most of the time. The hall also stunk the first morning. They changed the air freshener. Not sure if that was just covering up an issue. They came into my room and checked the unit even though I tried to explain that it was probably a system/city wide issue. My side of the hall just had views of a parking lot. They also upcharge too much for tours and taxis. $53 for a taxi to the airport. I overpaid at $35 coming to them.

A good hotel except for the tour and excursions manager, who sent me on a 45 minute taxi ride to the ‘pyramids light show’when it wasn’t even on, after i’d asked him on three different occasions to confirm that it was on that night, which he did.Fortunately I had an understanding taxi driver who brought me back to the hotel,after being with him for nearly two hours. An evening wasted. The next day I told the excursions manager about his mistake he just smirked and offered no apology.Not good enough ! All he had to do was to call the show to see if it was on. If this happens to you always independently check first ! Otherwise a very pleasant stay there.

Everything was excellent except one staff member who spoke to me with arrogance throughout my stay. He is at the front desk and his name is Ramses or something similar. When I first checked in he spoke to me with an arrogant tone and I was met with the same tone upon checkout. I didn't appreciate his attitude. Othe than that the hotel is what you would expect for that type of hotel. Other staff are friendly and helpful.

Every single moment here was incredible. Excellent service from every single person; from the security guards, the managers, the wait staff and the cleaning crew. Great food options and the drinks were good too. Rooms were spotless and comfortable. Ambient music in all areas and a welcoming smile everywhere we went.

Bellissimo hotel a due passi dal vecchio museo egizio e dal Nilo. Vicino alle strade commerciali con negozi. Colazione molto abbondante, con scelta ampia. Camera spaziosa e pulita. L'unica cosa che mi ha dato fastidio è il prufumo troppo forte che mettono nell'atrio e nei cortidoi cue portano alle camere; personalmente lo trovo fastidioso.

The worst custimer service in the whole of Egypt. Upon arriving at the Steigenberger Hotel El Tahrir in Cairo, Egypt, we initially booked due to five-star ambiance. However, our experience was subsequently marred by several significant issues that detracted from our stay. The cuisine was notably bland and overpriced. Throughout our four-day stay, the menu consistently lacked meat dishes, limiting dining options.Service Conduct: During both breakfast and dinner, managers were observed reprimanding staff, neglecting guest service in the process.Room Service Efficiency: Orders often took over 90 minutes to arrive, indicating inefficiencies in service delivery.Noise Disturbance: Our room faced a street with exceptionally heavy traffic. Persistent honking from 6 AM until 2-3 AM disrupted our rest. The hotel did not offer an alternative room, attributing the disturbance to the location. Room cleaning services frequently failed to replace towels and replenish tea and sugar supplies, necessitating repeated requests. Despite explaining our situation, my husband and I were unwell and had a 'Do Not Disturb' sign displayed for three days. Management repeatedly called our room, despite explaining our need for rest, the calls persisted until we disconnected the phone. pon checkout, I requested assistance with our six bags, emphasising our need to depart promptly for the airport. After 40 minutes, four phone calls, and a visit to reception, a staff member arrived without a trolley.
