Stayed 6 nights

Everything was completely as expected. It’s kind of a no frills lodging more like an apartment complex than a village. But clean, warm, quiet, and comfortable. There are a few places to eat nearby, but mostly you’ll need to take the bus. If you buy a lift pass from the resort, you can use it on the bus but be sure not to use it the night before you plan to use it for skiing or that will void it for the next day. Wait until the morning of ski day to buy your pass to avoid that. Buses stop running fairly early so if you plan to stay out late, you’ll take your chances with a private car. Staff there were super helpful and easy to contact and spoke English well. No onsen in the area, the two closest required transportation, close to the bus route. I wondered why the staff and welcome book recommended traveling to Hirafu for amenities and didn’t even mention Niseko village, until we went there. Very overpriced, bougie, not high-quality food. So that explained it. If you’ve never skied Niseko before learn about the gate system and side country skiing before you go.

Super clean, the shuttle to the mountain was great and reliable. The bus stop was right down the street to go wherever we needed.

We rented a one bedroom condo in January of 26. The communication and support provided by Vacation Niseko in advance of travel was immediate and thorough, so our shuttle to Niseko and then to Snow Dog Village was seamless. The staff at Snow Dog were extremely helpful both from a facilities/shuttle standpoint as well as helpful intel on where to ski across the mountain. The condo itself was very clean, and all amenities worked fine. Was very nice to have a washer/dryer for a week’s stay, and a working kitchen so we could relax and manage our own day in the mornings. In my opinion Snow Dog is high value for the location and level of service. I looked at a number of options in the area and Snow Dog is extremely affordable when compared to the Hilton or other Hirafu rentals. You are a little isolated compared to being in central Hirafu but to be honest, we found skiing Niseko Village and Annupuri to be our favorite areas with fewer crowds. Excellent trade-offs! Can’t say enough about the staff at Snow Dog. They were a delight to interact with and were happy to humor a couple of old farts. We will be back!

Everything was good the only complaint I had were the shuttle times. It was from 8-11am and then they took a long break and didn’t pick back up until 3:3
