Richmond Hotel Nagoya Shinkansen-guchi

Richmond Hotel Nagoya Shinkansenguchi is a great base if you’re planning to use Nagoya as a jumping-off point for Kyoto, Osaka, or Tokyo. The Shinkansen is a short walk away, which makes everything feel very manageable. The rooms are a nice surprise — a bit bigger than the typical Japanese business hotel, clean, and well set up. Nothing fancy, but everything you need is there and it all works. Staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, and they handle English well, which takes some stress out of check-in after a long travel day. Breakfast is worth getting up for — a good buffet with fresh food and some local Nagoya dishes thrown in. A solid start to a day of sightseeing. Little things like coin laundry, free luggage storage, and a 24-hour front desk make the practical side of a longer stay pretty painless. All in all, it’s the kind of hotel that just works. Staff were all helpful and bery polite. The rooms are small, common in Japan, but very clean

Convenient location for us. Beds were comfortable. Hotel was clean and quiet. Enjoyed the coffee bar throughout the day.
