Great location that is adjacent to Nagoya station as well as shopping and restaurants. If I may give one suggestion, I wish there was a coin laundry room in the hotel. The weather has been so hot and needed to change clothes twice a day. The laundry service is a bit pricey and I would rather do my own laundry instead of using the laundry service. Please consider.

This is my personal vacation to stay for two nights.I intentionally booked this hotel because of its location. It’s easy to access to JR station. And there is food plaza just two floor below. The room cleanliness is good and the breakfast is excellent. The only comment to the Hotel management is that there is missing of clear map guide to car park. This is rather important for me as foreign and doesn’t understand Japanese.

駅直近で周りに何でもありタクシーもいらなくとても便利でしたが、肝心のホテルの清潔感がバッドでした。このところずっと問題になっているトコジラミ対策も兼ねてチェックしたところベッドのシーツめくると髪の毛やら埃やら沢山付いていて気持ち悪くてお部屋を3回も変えてもらったにもかかわらず、3度目もまだ髪の毛問題が。待たされた1時間は何だったのでしょうか。ゴミも落ちていましたし。四つ星ホテルでこのレベルとは。残念な嫌な気持ちで過ごした滞在でした。

名古屋駅直結なので、迷うのことなくたどり着けます。フロントは15階にあり、下はショッピングモールなので、買い物も楽しめます。スタッフさんも親切丁寧で良かったです。朝食はバイキングで、ひつまぶし、きしめん、小倉トースト、手羽先など名古屋めし勢揃いで美味しかったです。ただ残念だったことが2つ。1つ目は客室に入った時から、シャワーカーテンの生乾き臭が凄かったことです。ユニットバスでしたが、入浴の際にシャワーカーテンが濡れた途端、さらに臭くなり、その後の滞在中、ユニットバス全体がずっと臭かったです。トイレに行く度に臭くて、翌朝の身支度も雑巾臭漂う中で気分が萎えました。2つ目はタオルがバスタオルとフェイスタオルしか置いてなかったことです。大抵のホテルはハンドタオルも置いてありますが、こちらは置いてなくて、フェイスタオルを使い回すことになりました。とはいえ、この2点以外は素晴らしく快適でしたので、次回名古屋に宿泊することがあれば、またお世話になりたいと思いました。

Room was spacious (for Japan) and super clean. We opted for the breakfast package and the brunch was great - an excellent variety of western and Japanese options and the food was good! A special call-out for the front-desk staff. They were super helpful with any question that we had and made our visit exceptionally smooth. Location is excellent and the ability to hop on transit to take you anywhere you need to go without leaving the building is a huge plus. One heads up, you are on top of Nagoya station and if your room is on the side of the hotel that faces the main train lines, you are likely to hear some noise from the station (announcements, chimes, etc) in your room, although we found it to be manageable and the last train is generally done by midnight. Construction has also started on the new Chuo line Shinkansen; we did not notice any additional noise and were not impacted by this, but as construction progresses, it might impact your stay.

Awesome location next to shinkansen, JR and a few other lines. Room is clean and modern, you will not hear any sound of trains but siren can be heard throughout my 4 nights stay. Hotel is very generous with amenities: 3 bottles of water, new slippers along with others everyday. Need improvement 1. Mattress in our room needs to be changed. It is too soft in the middle that hubby and i have back pain every morning. 2. Toilet seat is not warm, this is quite disappointing given we are in japan.

Pros: Excellent location right by JR station and close to shops Staff were friendly and helpful but standards varied Great choice at breakfast but a bit pricey Coffee maker and kettle in room which was hidden in a cupboard Room was modern and clean Plenty of worktop space in the bathroom Cons: Although the room was somewhat spacious the bedside table by the bathroom side was tiny, hence a small gap between the bed and the wall, had to walk sideway getting into and out of bed We stayed on 15th floor facing the rail tracks, the train noise disturbed our sleep in small hours. We did mention to a receptionist when checking out. She kindly suggested us request a quieter room next time.

Rooms were very clean. Bathroom is large for Japan. Location convenient as it was close to train station and there are lots of restaurants on the 12&13 floor. Lots of shopping just steps away. There’s a Starbucks on the same floor as the lobby with nice patio/view.

Breakfast was excellent. A/C was modern and efficient. I would like to commend front desk staff Mr Kato for going above and beyond. While trying to use the luggage sending service the onward hotel stated we had NO reservations and could not accept our large suitcases. We provided Mr Kato with our reservation and confirmation number and Mr Kato took over from there. Even though it took over an hour he resolved the reservation issue. What a relief. He even secured reservations at JR Gateway Nagoya for us in case the other ryokan did not come through.

We love it that the hotel is conveniently located. It is modern and well maintained. However the checkin staff were not as friendly as other 2 hotels that we stayed in Japan on this trip. On 1 of the morning, we requested for a hard pillow to be sent to our room. The staff at the checkin counter acknowledged. But when we returned at night, the request was not done.

The Nagoya JR Gate Tower hotel is most centrally located to public transportation: JR rail lines, local train lines, Shinkansen, public buses, taxis. Shopping & dining options are just 2 floors down below the 15th floor hotel lobby, with a very nice convenient Mart & a pharmacy on the same floor. The hotel is very clean & well maintained. All staffs work really hard to welcome & serve guests. Mr. Fukunishi helped me check in so graciously. Breakfasts at the hotel’s Gatehouse restaurant (a beautiful restaurant) are so fresh & delicious. It is a real delight to stay here!

チェックイン時間のちょっと前に到着しましたが、カウンターにはたくさんのスタッフの方がいらっしゃったのですが、誰一人としてカウンターで対応していませんでした。最初はどこで待っていたらよいのかわかりづらかったです。列かなというところで待っていると、列に並ぶサインが置かれ、その頃には私たちの後にたくさんの方が待っていました。そして時間になると、受付を開始されました。このように待たされてチェックインするのは初めてだったので戸惑いました。お部屋はきれいで快適に過ごせました。ただ、ホテルに辿りつくまでに、ゲートタワーのエレベーターで上がってこないといけないので、週末で混んでいる時は不便だなと感じました。

Really great overnight stop for catching the train the next morning. Great view from room window. One small gripe - it’s quite tricky to navigate back to the hotel late in the evening as many escalators are turned off so the signage becomes unhelpful.

Spent one night here since we wanted to visit Ghibli park. Even though the hotel is as close to the station as possible, just be aware that it still takes 10-15 minutes to get from the plattform to the hotel reception (since this is located soon floors up in a Hightower building). The hotel seemed extremely caused to business men/women but the quality, size and cleanliness was excellent (we stayed at a moderate double room). Overall a very good hotel, would definitely recommend!

Hotel was great. Would NOT recommend the French restaurant! Staff told us one price then charged us 4x more than they told us. Manager was rude and would not honor original price. The whole restaurant felt like a “bait and switch “. Many other good places to eat in the mall.
