AC Hotel by Marriott Des Moines East Village

Beautiful hotel with a roof top bar! Enjoyed our stay!

I visit this hotel rooftop each time I’m in DSM, decided to participate in a surprise 40th birthday party, so finally decided to stay here. It was wonderful!

Fantastic property in a great area! The Republic On Grand is a great bar/restaurant on the roof and there is an excellent breakfast available in the beautiful lobby Tuesday through Saturday. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff was professional, courteous, helpful, full of conversations, and smiles - front desk, shuttle service, etc. I also love the Hotel, its restaurant, and its roof bar.

I always love my stays at the AC Hotel Des Moines. The staff are always friendly. I got to meet the new front desk host Heather, who was great. Tim, the shuttle driver, is always so good and so accommodating, and always asks how my mom is doing. And it was good to see Quincy again, also on shuttle duty, and Sheila at the front desk. I didn’t get a chance to see Nicholas and Peyton this trip, which is a shame b/c they always make me feel welcome and I’ve known Nicholas for probably six years. But best of all is the bar genius Trent, up at the Republic Bar on the 6th floor. I walk in after a two-month absence, and Trent smiles and says “Welcome back, an Albariño for you?” This guy knows where I live, why I’m in Des Moines, what I like to do on vacation. He knows the things we have in common and tells me stories he knows I’ll find interesting. He’s a wizard and (other than visiting Mom) the best reason to come to Des Moines. Can you tell the AC Hotel staff feel like family?

At check in we were greated and she was super friendly! We were there for the state fair and tbey even offered us a dhuttle there and back!! Huge bonus. They shuttle up to 6 miles. Super convenient since most do not offer anymore!

Nice hotel in fun area. Facilities were good and onsite bar and restaurant were very good. Breakfast was affordsble afequatr. Front desk staff and transportation staff were the best.

Overnight for a wedding party room was nice everything on the property is pretty much new the parking garage was small and tight and extra $30 a day not impressed with that check in went well but you must have a room key to access parking garage and limited parking to do so was a pain. You must have a room key to get the elevator to move probably good for security but a bit of a pain otherwise room was nice comfortable bed good tv nice bathroom and shower there is a nice bar / restaurant on the property and the surrounding area is interesting

This was the best hotel we have ever stayed at! From the cleanliness of the room, to the extra surface space everywhere, the hard floors (no carpet, yay!), the top of the line shower, etc., this was such a great experience! We will plan to stay back here when we are back in this city! Not to mention, the hotel has a wonderful restaurant in one of the top floors!

Checked in and paid for the garage parking under the hotel. Gave me a ticket and told me where to go. Went down there and there was nothing available and had to drive to the parking garage. They need to keep track of how many spots they have and gave out and save sometime for there guests.Also we had a room by the road so that was a little bit noisy. Otherwise room was great and clean and i would come back.

I come to Des Moines twice a month for 3 days each of those times. I always make my hotel reservations at least a week ahead of time through hotels.com I'm not sure exactly what had happened but it looks like I accidentally made my reservation for July 3rd through the 5th instead of June 19th through the 21st. When I got to the hotel and he had told me about my mistake I went ahead and booked the room anyways for the 19th to the , I ended up having to pay full price for both the days with no discount applied. I was staying at this more expensive hotel downtown because with hotels.com I had received a free night stay so it was worth staying at a more expensive hotel. I had spoke to front desk clerk about canceling and getting refunded for the July 3rd through the 5th I had told him I booked it through hotels.com he said that shouldn't be an issue on ten home that week and called hotels.com they tried for two days to try to get a hold of the motel to see about canceling my reservation once they did get through to the hotel the hotel refused to cancel my reservation hotels.com was nice enough togive me another free night. ivwill never stay there again, the room was disgusting the floorwas so dirty I had to take a wet towel and actually mop, if you shut off the lights at night you shut off the TV the shower head in the shower would not stay clipped so you had to hold the handle the whole time there was toothpaste on the wall in the bathroom.

The hotel was clean, modern and comfortable. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

Lots of fun things to do around this hotel. Great shopping and food. Modern clean interior.

Very nice location. Nearby shopping and dining. It is very clean and well-maintained. Garage parking is a plus.

Amazing location, full of restaurants for all ages. Rooms are cleaned and comfortable, beautiful decor. Breakfast could be better

-broken mini light (right side closest to window) -broken toilet paper holder (and toilet paper just sitting on back of toilet) -greasy marks on bathroom wall -no side chair in room 410, just a random end table by the lamp, but our other rented room 417 had a chair with the end table and lamp -originally given a room (419) with someone already occupied in it —keys didn’t work and had a do not disturb sign hanging from the door. -was told parking labeled guest parking only was only for employees (never been to a place where employees get better parking than paying guests) -was told there was conjoining rooms when I called a month prior to reserve (and webpage lists conjoining rooms) and asked for that or side by side rooms—given rooms on 2 different floors (419 and 519) Lady said she didn’t know what we were talking about but Franco said he could see in the “special requests” section that we did request conjoining rooms next to each other. -was told she couldn’t help us because she got off work at 3 and it was past 3 and “someone lied to you” any time I mentioned things that were promised to us -couldn’t find different rooms for us bc hotel was full (despite check in being at 3 and we arrived right at 3) and wasn’t able to move rooms around bc hotel already full (we know at exactly 3 everyone hasn’t checked in yet and we really know that wasn’t true because Franco was able to move rooms around for us) -out of characters but so much more wrong. Will be calling.

The shower had horrible water pressure with an awful whining sound. The toilet was leaking out the bottom meaning actual waste water was leaking in the bathroom. The TV wouldn’t receive any kid of signal. The lighting quality was god awful for doing make up. When I brought this information to the front desk. The gal working didn’t really care, didn’t offer to pay for the parking or anything. Do NOT stay here!!

The AC is a great hotel and facility. The staff is off the charts. Highly recommended.

Place was beautiful! Close to lots of food, bars, & Wooly’s! Parking was non issue… lots of on street parking available… free parking on Sunday. There’s a super cute plant shop across the street you should take a look at.

Newer hotel, clean. Very minimalist, not even a complimentary bottle of water in the room. $14 for a piece of toast for some breakfast though.
