L'Agora Old Town Hotel & Bazaar

We had some hiccups but everything was resolved by the helpful staff. The room we originally booked was described as being on the ground floor, without explaining that it was actually in the bar/restaurant. We paid to upgrade but the fact that the hotels.com site specifies that rooms are sound proof is misleading and it hadn't been possible to upgarde the stay would have been unbearable

This hotel is in a very strange location, but that is what makes it exotic. It is in the middle of a market. You cannot taxi there, and in fact, many taxi drivers did not know of this hotel. We had to walk and cross the fish market. The smell was not good. The rooms are around a court yard that is full of smokers. Therefore, the smoke gets into the bedrooms above. We informed the staff and they told us to run the air conditioning to clear the air. We did and in the beginning it worked. However, later in the night, the air condition unit stopped working and the room was again smelling of cigarette smoke. We opened the windows and were able to clear the room, but then it was noisy. I don’t recommend guests with health conditions to room there. Let me clarify that the rooms are not smelly when you enter. Only when you open your door to enter or the unit stops working. Otherwise, the rooms are clean and well decorated.

Thevroom was spotless, the customer service was great. But what stood out, how all the staff seemed to enjoy and be happy in what they do. Great team 👏

The staff was very professional. Exceptionally helpful with everything! We would love to go back to L’Agora!
