A nice little hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. The room was spacious, although it had very little furniture. The lobby and restaurant / bar area seemed nice for hanging out. Above all, the location just across from Munich Hauptbahnhof was perfect.

We stayed at this property in Munich two separate times during our visit to Germany. It is very close to the main train station which was perfect for us. It is off the busy street and has a restful patio seating area which we used most nights.

The hotel is very handy for the train station. Really nicely decorated in an Alpine theme. The lift is great with a video like you are riding in a cable car. Staff were great and communication excellent. We left our passports in the safe when had left. A few emails later and they had been collected for us and kept in a safe place till we returned. The hotel is just a block away from the main rail station, making it very convenient. The alpine theme is carried throughout from the decor in the lobby to the elevator that mimics a ski lift to the individual rooms with milk bucket trash cans, snow rake clothes hangers, etc. They have an obvious commitment to the environment from their choices of soap to toilet paper to the frequency of room refreshing (by request only). An optional app makes requesting specific services (more soap or towels, etc.) very easy. The breakfast is a bit spendy if you have to purchase it, but if the breakfast tokens are included in your stay, you'll find it to be a substantial buffet spread including eggs and sides, traditional German meats and cheeses, breads, cereals, yogurt and muesli, and a coffee machine with many options. The staff were very friendly and professional. The biergarten onsite made it a nice place to hang out at the end of the day and trade stories. The rooms are compact but clean and modern with both a rainfall shower and hand wand. Would recommend checking that the shower gel is not empty *before* getting in for the first time, wetting down, and discovering that it isn't. My only critique would be that the hotel had switched rooms over to heating only when the temps were still in the low 70s and the ability to set the HVAC to cool would have been preferred, as opening the windows on the streetside can be a little on the noisy side. Overall, a great place to stay.

Service was great and hospitality was upto par. But the underground parking is very narrow, so only risk parking there if you are a VERY experienced driver. Location is in a bit of good area but there are other cacoons locations closer to the old town of Munich. Bed was very comfortable and layout was convenient.

Great location if you’re looking to stay in central München, but lots of construction outside (not the hotel’s fault). Staff was extremely friendly, spoke great English and very informative. They definitely exceeded my expectations for the price. I paid about $80usd, which is great for this central location near the train station, so it served its purpose. Room was neat, bed was comfortable, floors, paint, bathroom, furniture and bed, were all in great shape. Small room, but if you’re looking for a good place for a low price, stay here for sure. Parking was 25 euro a day and the parking garage was way way too tight for the Audi A6 I rented, but it’s my fault for renting such a big vehicle. Definitely rent a compact, if you plan on coming to Germany, because they’re easier to get around in this hectic city, with lots of tight spaces and traffic. If I go back to München, I will be staying at the Cacoon. An affordable hotel with lots of personality and excellent staff.

Very clean room, staff helpful and friendly.

Für eine Nacht war das Classic Doppelzimmer in Ordnung. Das Bett war schön weich allerdings war das Zimmer ziemlich eng und an einigen Stellen etwas staubig. Das Wasser ist auch teilweise aus der Duschkabine geflossen. Die Einrichtung ist aber sehr gelungen. Parkplätze gibt es ebenfalls im Keller allerdings ist die Parkgarage extrem eng und nichts für große oder lange Autos. Die Innenstadt ist in 10 Gehminuten erreicht.

Unfortunately the room was in need of love. Definitely lots of wear and tear. Plywood painted over to cover up things. Scuffs on the wall. Hallcarpet smelled.sme

Clean, closely located to munich centre train station- staff was incredibly helpful. Overall great stay.

The cleanliness of the bathroom could be improved, as there was a strong smell of urine.

The service is fantastic and I love the quirky decor though the place was not as well maintained as it could be. It's steps from the train station so very convenient if you need that. Otherwise it's in a Turkish area which is fine but doesn't have the German flavor you may be looking for.

Das Hotel überzeugt mit seinem freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Peronal. Die Mitarbeiter sind zuvorkommend und sorgen für eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Die Zmmer sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber! Die ideale Lage in Bahnhofsnähe und der kurze Weg zur Innenstadt sind ohnehin überzeugend! Ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt!

I stayed here twice. The first room I had I loved. Everything was very clean. The second room I got was extremely dirty. No trash can instead a big white bucket. Room was not clean and no towels. The shower needs some work. The water gets everywhere and floods. Breakfast and coffee was great.

Very cute trendy hotel in convenient location. The room was not as great as expected. We had a loft family room. The loft was extremely hot. They did give us a standing fan to help. Pillows not comfortable. Pull out couch for kids not comfortable. Not many outlets.

Clean room, bit small of a room, hotel was quiet, bathroom could use a better fan, breakfast area has too limited seating for the size of the hotel.

Very convenient to the main train station. The breakfast is good, but I’m not sure it’s worth €19. If you get it with your room for less, I would buy it. There’s not much nearby to go for breakfast. We used the train to go almost everywhere. Summer rooms are smaller or larger than others. I know this because we had four rooms and there were three different sizes. Some of them have a separate toilet and separate shower, which is nice if you’re not traveling as a couple. The lobby is cute and the coffee machine is great. There’s also a bar that we did not share in the evening.

Décoration très originale sur le thème des pentes de skis dans le hall ainsi que dans les chambres. Seul petit bémol, les chambres sont extrêmement petites. Il fallait que j'embarque au pied du lit et me glisser jusqu'au oreillers pour me coucher car le lit était collé au mur près de la fenêtre. Il fallait se servir de notre imagination pour placer nos deux grandes valises.

Kamer is niet groot. Geen koelkast of koffie - thee faciliteiten op de kamer. De kamers zijn helaas niet geluids dicht. Het hotel en de kamers zijn wel leuk in thema. Verder zijn de kamers wel super netjes en schoon. Ook is er zonwering voor de ramen. Airco werkt goed. Tram en trein om de hoek, wij zijn heen met de tram naar het centrum gegaan, terug gewandeld, prima te doen, 1,5 km.

All members of the staff were very courteous and responsive to our requests. The area around the hotel is not very appealing but very convenient to the train station. The main disappointment was temperature control of the room. Evidently the hotel switched all rooms over to heat only requiring us to open the windows in order to cool the room. Meaning we heard every dog bark, car horn and siren.

Great hotel with a great atmosphere!! Loved the Swiss alps themed concept!! Staff were friendly, especially Kevin the supervisor. He was extremely helpful and accommodating. Close to the train station and easy to navigate Munich. We love the cocoon Hotel!! Will go back again!!

There is a problem with this hotel's communication/integration with Hotels.com. Although we paid for a large room and showed this payment information during check-in, the smallest room was shown as reserved by Hotels.com. After a conversation that lasted more than two hours, with the support of Benjamin(?), we were upgraded and our troubled and problematic trip continued well. The hotel, which is 1-2 minutes walking distance from the main train station, also offers a very filling and varied breakfast.

The cosy room was fine for 1 night. It’s very convenient for the main station. When checking in, an entitled guest interrupted and demanded to be seen to. Rather than point out he was dealing with my check in, the staff member, without a word of apology, tried to deal with us both. He ended up getting my check in wrong, saying I hadn’t got breakfast when in fact I had selected and paid for breakfast. Another member of staff corrected him. It wasn’t the best first impression. But the stay overall was fine for the one night.

The hotel is unique, safe, and in a great location. Fifteen minute walk to old town, three minute walk to the train station, and ten to fifteen minute walks to any number of great restaurants. Staff is beyond fun, funny, engaging, and helpful. A few key issues, but they know how to pour a drink and have a good time so all was well. Would stay here again.

Location is good and the standard is fine. But the staff has a very sharp tone. Two exampels: 1. We were not informed that we needed to ask for cleaning of the room. When we called ta ask about this we got a very patronizing way stating that we should have known that they don't clean the room because they have a eco friendly hotel. We question the eco friendlyness of saving cost on cleaning with friendly reply we wouldn't mind. 2. At breakfast we asked if we could have breakfast. We didn't pay in advance for the service.but dediced we wanted breakfast. Once again we were told in an unfriendly way we hadn't paid for it in advance, which we knew about. We just wanted breakfast and of course we were expecting to pay for it.

The staff are so friendly and work so hard to please their guests. The fun theme and great breakfasts make this a fun place to stay.

The reviews for this hotel seem to be describing a different place to the one in which I stayed. The room I was given was so worn and scruffy, it looked worse than the nearby youth hostel. The next room along had a balcony, which stretched over my window so anyone there could look straight into my room, onto my bed (the room was so tiny, that’s all they could look at). There was a significant damp patch too. The reception staff were friendly so this is no complaint against them but they didn’t seem to know what damp was, even when they saw it. They did change my room straight away but whilst there was no damp in the second room, it was, again, nothing like the photos: worn, tired and scruffy, and distinctly un-alpine. Additionally, both reception staff didn’t just show me my room number but announced it to everyone in the foyer - twice. Again, the staff weren’t unfriendly but that’s a basic security error. If you are a solo traveller or particularly, a solo female traveller, I would recommend considering other hotels.

Uniquely styled hotel with fun "alpine" touches. Excellent bed, great shower and a very quiet stay in an eccentrically styled room with some really well thought-out touches. Friendly, helpful staff with good English language skills. Lots of places around Munich to eat, so we didn't breakfast at the hotel. Hotel is very close to the main train station, very easy to get to. Very walkable for central shopping district (10min) and museums (15-20min) all well served by public transport. Only (small) downside is the huge amount of construction in central Munich right now. (This is not any fault of the hotel.) Despite this, the hotel was VERY quiet and we would visit and stay there again.

Great hotel for Oktoberfest! We had a wonderful time staying at this hotel! A quick 10 minute walk to the grounds, and easy access to shops and train. Rooms kept pretty quiet despite the city-wide party! Staff were 10/10 friendly

Convenient location and was easy to connect to train and other public transportation to explore the city. Lots of restaurants and shops around. Easy walk to the historical city centre. The room was on the smaller side, but it was just fine as I was travelling by myself. Due to it's proximity to the train station, it the area is not as charming or residential as other parts of Munich.

Awesome hotel. Next to red light district. Lots of construction and chaos all around. But the hotel feels like a safe heaven. Munich has declined a lot in recent years.

Nice hotel, close to the central railway station, good access to train, tram & bus. Reception staff are excellent with local knowledge of places to visit and great restaurants. Breakfast is expensive at €19.90 unless pre booked as part of a package but good choice of hot & cold food. We had a Chill Out Alm room which was spacious with a separate toilet and bathroom. The TV could be in a better position as it makes it difficult to walk around the bed. The desk is a useful space but has to be cleared to close at night in order to switch off the light around the desk and there is no chair for the desk. The bedside tables are quirky wooden stools that are very small. Some coat hooks would have also been useful.

I must say I was impressed: Among the thousands of hotels in surrounding area I made a good choice: - the rooms and the overall style are really cute: bavarian alps, cows, milk cans, it’s really nice. - it’s located literally two minutes walking distance from my train. But what flashed me most was the breakfast! You get a cork badge, they hand you your tray and you get a really great assorted breakfast: Frische Brezn, Müsli, Roasted vegetables, lots of eggs, fresh juices etc. Sounds „normal“, but it isn‘t! The room was lovely decorated and the staff was super friendly! There is even a coffee machine with extra oat milk, how considerate is that!!! Fantastic - 10/10 I would return!
