Lara lodge is very close to You Yang. You Yang is a nice spot for hiking, mountain bike and picnic. we did hiking with the dog at You Yang. And Lara lodge was a pet-friendly accommodation that helped our needs.

Great cottage style accommodation on the outskirts of Lara, just outside of Melbourne. Peaceful and quiet with lots of space. The property included soap, shampoo and conditioner but unfortunately no tea, coffee or milk for a brew. Town is a quick 5 min drive for food. The owners are lovely people.

The manager is nice and qas helpful but there are problems with the property that should be taken care of. The 2nd patio door is sitting on the deck leaving the screen door unlockable. We always lock our door at night for sleeping so this was an uncomfortable feeling. The coffee milk in the fridge was sour. The bedding was clean but wrinked as if it had sat in a dryer for hours.

With limited accommodation available in the area, these cabins are very welcoming, clean and convenient. Communication with the very accommodating staff was absolutely excellent. Not sure I would want a long term stay here on the outskirts of Lara but excellent and convenient for a shorter stay.
