We decided on an overnight escape down the beach, last minute. The hotel was lovely even providing a yoga mat to use for a great start to the day. Although the weather wasn't suitable for swimming, the pool and spa look great!

We enjoyed our overnight stay at Sunnymead. The location was really close to the beach with a few good food options nearby. Aesthetically the hotel was gorgeous and we enjoyed the comfy bed, coffee machine and swivel chairs. The pool area was really nice. We did have an issue with the shower flooding which we had to spend quiet some time mopping up with towels as theres no reception after around 4:30pm so we couldn't ask for a mop. The pillows were a bit too thick and hurt my neck. Apart from that it was a pleasant stay.

Loved the outdoor pool and that’s about it! Upon arrival, we were told we couldn’t check in because our room wasn’t ready. It was past check in time and the receptionist told us we asked for a late check in at 5pm. She was rude, unapologetic and couldn’t provide any proof despite me showing her a message requesting early check in if possible. To top it off, after entering our room, we found beard hairs on the bed. Luckily we were moved into another room. A candle or diffuser would be a good addition perhaps. The rooms have a motel like smell.

Clean throughout Unfortunately description of front desk being open all day was inaccurate and the hotel cancelled our booking even though we arrived at 6.30 We were sent an email so we’re aware and rebooked to include a breakfast. We sent a message but didn’t get a reply so we were quite stressed. We called the emergency number at luckily the staff had left a key under the doormat. The breakfast turned out to be a small loaf and bottle of orange juice not worth the £20 paid.

Great reception. Wonderful room. Comfortable bed. Lovely restaurant great service. Amazing dark chocolate sorbet. However cracks in plaster need to be repaired, no usb sockets and cant fill kettle from sink. This said amazing stay.

WOW!! This place is super cute! We loved the modern-retro theme ( I'm not a designer so I really don't know what else to call it). Everything was clean and updated and new. The room was so welcoming from the beautiful furnishings,expresso machine, blue tooth speaker to the super cozy seating area with floor rug. Easy access to incredible Surfside walk. Head East and go to the end where it meets the beach.(2miles, not the first beach access) and then continue to where the beach is split by the gorge. It's just beautiful! We highly recommend this as a best place a to stay on The Great Ocean Road!

Great stay at Sunnymead - a modern upgrade with a retro feel that had everything we needed for a weekend away. The place was clean, spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the amenities provided - particularly the tea and bathroom toiletries. We would definitely come back and recommend to others - it would be a great summer spot.

For Expedia people, the property has been renovated but Expedia won't let them update their pictures. The room was well appointed and the bed was heavenly. It's a very easy walk to the lighthouse and there are places to eat, as well as the hotel's restaurant (and they will also deliver to your room if you like!). It exceeded my expectations.

Loved the style of this hotel. Everything felt fresh and new. Extra touches like bath robes, toaster, plates, cutlery and even dishwashing liquid were fantastic. Great value for money. Easy walking distance to food and the lighthouse.

Eine sehr schönes, geräumiges Zimmer. Alles da, was man braucht auch ein Frühstück machen zu können. (Wasserkkocher Toaster,Geschirr)Oder man bucht .it Frühstück, welches aufs Zimmer gebracht wird!! Das einzige was fehlte, war ein Fön!

Clever hipster revamp of old style motel. Money spent well on nice bathroom and quality beds and furnishings. Breakfast not worth the $38 price tag - loaf of bread, 2 small pats of butter, small jar jam and 2 small juices. For the price tag of over $400 for one night it was overvaluing its offering by at least $150 compared to all other accommodation we stayed in over a 10 day road trip. It was nice but it wasn’t a $400 night property by any means. Can recommend as comfortable and cute but cant recommend the value.
