Stayed 2 nights

I was genuinely stunned to discover an unexpected $40 early check‑in fee (plus tax) — even for arriving just 30 minutes before check‑in. This was never advertised, and it set the tone for what turned out to be one of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve had in Ottawa. There are no elevators, which would’ve been nice to know beforehand. Hauling luggage up the stairs was not exactly the welcome I had in mind. The water pressure from the bathroom tap was so weak that I had to use the bathtub faucet just to wash my face or get a glass of water. Not exactly convenient or expected. The room door was squeaky loud. The A/C unit was unbelievably loud. Our choices were either try to sleep with earplugs or turn it off and be uncomfortably hot. Neither option is acceptable for a hotel stay. The drawers didn’t close, the desk outlets were recessed so deeply that our chargers kept falling out, and somehow they still felt justified charging $8 per person for what was basically a bare‑bones continental breakfast.Even the pre‑registration process was a headache — several fields wouldn’t work properly on a smartphone, including the date selection. If guests can’t complete the form, what’s the point of offering it? Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in Ottawa, and I left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and frankly baffled at how many basic things were overlooked. I prepaid 2 night's stay not anticipating a $40 charge. Cash grab for sure.

Stayed 1 night

The staff were professional, kind, and exceptionally accommodating throughout our stay. Although our booking did not include breakfast, they graciously invited us to enjoy the complimentary breakfast, which was a thoughtful gesture. The rooms were clean, and the fitness centre was excellent, featuring professional-grade cardio equipment and a wide variety of free weights. We also appreciated that the staff kindly granted us early access to the fitness centre before its official 6:00 a.m. opening time. The only downside was the lack of accessibility to the second floor. As we were travelling with a child who has accessibility needs, being assigned a second-floor room without elevator access made our stay more challenging. Improving accessibility would greatly enhance the experience for families and guests with mobility needs.
