We felt like we had the hotel to ourselves, because for the most part we did. Because the hotel is so remote, we had dinner at the hotel restaurant. The ambience there was wonderful, but dinner was pricey!

Main door locked and instructions say use key code but I was never given a key code so I went and banged on the window of the restaurant where someone let me in. The area is beautiful with a lovely church on the grounds but not much else around. Gas and mini mart about 10 min. Fludir about 20 min with more amenities including the Secret Lagoon.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the beautiful hotel remotely located in nature. It had a wonderful breakfast and staff were friendly. Accessibility: There are a series of a few small steps on the main floor which make it difficult when traveling with a stroller and luggage. There is a back door that is accessible with no stairs involved. It has access to the rooms located at the end of the hotel. Perhaps guests with children can request a room at the end near the back door.

Was very disappointed to get to the hotel and find out they had been trying the credit card that I held the property with. It was supposed to be a pay upon arrival and they charged my credit card two days early. My understanding of pay upon arrival is that you pay upon arrival. Other than that, a very nice hotel other than the fact the breakfast is much too expensive for what you receive. I’ve stayed in many many hotels in Iceland and this is one I will most likely, not return to because of the reason stated above. Not cool.
