Very well kept property with ample parking. 24/7 vehicle access was only through a security gate: a sad necessity for an area with a lot of homeless and petty crime. Staff were very friendly. My room was very clean. I liked the tile floors throughout and the bed and pillows gave a great night's sleep. Shutters on the windows allowed for good privacy and dark room. This Super 8 will be at the top of my list on my next business trip to Bakersfield.

It’s a little sketchy neighborhood, but I have been here for a while waiting on truck repairs… the room I have has been remodeled and has hard floors, excellent A/C, and a small yet clean bathroom, plus a good fridge and microwave. The only thing that would have been awesome is a small coffee machine and guest laundry… they have a large metal perimeter fence, and there are some not so well off people around this area, but the motel has been excellent. Just because the area is not the best does not mean you are going to have issues…use common sense and watch your surroundings, people, etc and you will do just fine. Also the WiFi is great, and great Verizon 5G cell reception as well. If you need to book a room here I would not hesitate if you are looking for some savings! Thanks!

Property is gated so you must be let in which was a plus. The check in was quick and I told him I was hesitant to stay bcuz of the negative reviews that you see others giving and that I’d be giving them a full review also… I requested a 2 bed room and asked for hood AC and a hot shower lol… The room was as expected and the AC did blow cold all night. They have a mini microwave in the room and a blow dryer as well. You can’t call out on their phones but if you need to you can you the front desk. Beds and sheets were clean and their were sufficient towels for two people even tho we brought our own there were both body wash and shampoo in the shower as well… Breakfast is as advertised just granola bars and coffee but the coffee was hot so for the price I was overly satisfied with this establishment and I’d have no problem staying here again!

The lady at the front desk was incredibly polite, accommodating and helpful. The room was very clean and updated. I felt very secure on the property because of their gated entrance. I would stay there again.

Bed was comfortable, sheets clean but stained. I don’t consider myself require much. The cockroach in my room, or the cockroach feces behind the mini fridge (I had to unplug it because it was incredibly loud), was a nonissue. I stayed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. The first two nights were fine, but Saturday night? The hotel became a hotspot for blatant prostitution. Hookers roamed about, as did their clientele, both on and around the property. All throughout the night, people came in and out of the “locked” gate (it didn’t lock). People slammed doors. They used car horns as signals (often in sequence… as if honking in code). There was no security, no police, and I felt unsafe. I was not able to sleep that last night from the noise and the stress of being there. I would not recommend this place, or any place on Union, at least not on weekends. I knew it was a poor part of town, but I was expecting some semblance of security considering the property was gated. Alas, I recommend shelling out an extra $20 and going somewhere else.

This place had FILTHY BEDS. The sheets were wrinkled and full of black hair, stains and dirt. The floors had something dried on them and the toilet had urine and hair on the seat. Some one obviously did not clean this room.

This is one of the worst rooms I'd ever slept in. Access to the property is gated, which is an immediate red flag. The smell of some kind of disinfectant dominated the room upon entry, to the point that it bothered my eyes. As for appointments, the room had no carpeting, no table lamps by the bed, no chair at the desk, not even a Bible from the Gideons. The toilet wasn't clean; there was a generous amount of fecal matter on the underside of the seat. People launched fireworks well into the night, causing numerous car alarms to sound off. It also sounded like there was a colony of pigeons right outside my room. The TV remote had no battery cover, and the batteries inside were mismatched. And the bed itself was quite uncomfortable. At least the air conditioner worked. So why did I stay here? It was cheap, and I'm on a tight budget. For the price I paid, I was not expecting the Biltmore, but this was really, really bad. I rarely feel unsafe; I felt unsafe here. This place was, in my opinion, about two steps removed from looking like a jail cell. (I would have provided photos, but for some reason, I was unable to upload)

The representative was very kind. The room lacked some basic things and did need some cleaning. Refrigerator was dirty, toilet dirty, mirror in bathroom dirty, hair still in drain of shower from last occupant, floors were not swept and mopped. Grimy. Sheets appeared to have wrinkles in them as if unchanged. No wash cloths and one hand towel and no shower floor towel. Fire alarm unattached and sitting on the AC unit. No place to put clothing. No unfolding stand to place luggage on. No drawer set. No place to set luggage except on the only table that everything needed to be placed on. People of aboutb 19 to 15 ea., loitering around and being loud in front of room door. Had to report the noise to front desk twice. Took about two hours for them to stop and go away. Very unrestful stay and unsafe feeling.

Appears to be a work in progress. Room 124 bright and shiny new, but missing a few things: no rack to hang clothes, no dresser/chest of drawers, no rack to hang towels or holders in bathtub/shower stall to place bath items (washcloth, shampoo, soap, etc.). There is a refrigerator and microwave, but no in room coffee maker - however, there is lobby coffee and a minimal Continental breakfast starting at 6:30 AM in the lobby. Free WiFi is very weak and slow in the mid to late afternoon, much better in the very early morning hours. Room price is reasonable. Area semi-industrial with some fast food eateries and convenient to Hwy CA 58.

It’s a pretty standard hotel. The most affordable hotel in an area that isn’t that nice or “beautiful”. Added parking gate for security is the main reason we chose this location. Breakfast coffee was good. Bedrooms were nice but not sound proof. Not a bad stay!

A good value stay. Everything was fine except for the tub drainage. As you shower the water will drain extremely slowly down the drainage. At the end of the shower you are standing on two feet of soapy water.

We had a 6 day trip and this was the worst hotel to stay in. There was a tile flooring throughout and it was very cold (imagine stepping down barefoot on a cold winter day), wish they had a carpet flooring like other hotels and the tile floor had 2 dirty shoe prints clearly visible. We could also hear music from the nearby room. The bathroom was so small that opening and closing the door was a challenge with out hitting the commode. Only a small to medium size person would fit in the shower without touching the walls. Breakfast had just juice, coffee and some microwavable small packets of whatever. The only plus was the great customer service, they were very caring and even offered us some tea as extras while leaving.

Room was clean. Shower good. However, nowhere at all to hang clothes, we had to leave our clothes on the floor. There weren’t even any hooks. Neighbourhood awful and quite frightening. Noise from the road was deafening and the Aircon was so loud. We were woken by a man who sounded like he was being murdered, and then later police sirens. We actually were very scared and would not recommend this hotel unless you’re desperate and brave.

The desk clerk did not speak much English, his heavy accent made it about impossible to understand, plus he didn't seem to understand what we were saying. We had difficulty finding the motel, had drove right past it because the Super 8 sign was only about 10-12 feet high instead of up higher like many motels. We did not know the fairgrounds was very nearby; it was too noisy. We couldn't get a ground floor (didn't think about requesting in advance, we only booked days ahead of time due to a death in the family) and we had to go up 14 steps to the top floor - my wife & I are both in our 80s with back and knee problems. The room was almost spartan but clean; it was noisy at night from other tenants plus people were smoking outside their rooms and near our room and we are both allergic to smoke.

Upon driving up to this location it was a little sketchy behind a locked gate. But was pleasantly surprised by the super nice people who owned the place and it has been recently remodeled and the bed was soft, which was a plus and the air conditioner worked superbly. I am pleasantly surprised to be worrying this review. The property was gated due to its location but I felt totally safe. The room was exceptionally clean and the staff was great. We came in late and left early so didn't really interact with staff much but they were great. They have an electric car plug in which is extremely nice for those that need it. For the very minimal price and location near the fair grounds, I would absolutely stay there again. We just needed a cheap place to stay for one night and this fit the bill perfectly.

The facility was clean and well maintained, however, it is located in not the greatest part of town and the adjacent road is very noisy with cars racing up and down during all hours, especially noticeable at night. The facility is advertised as having a free breakfast. However, while it was free there was not too much incurred. I usually like to stay at Super 8 motels because I enjoy the breakfasts which almost always include to coffee and tea, cold fruit juices, yogurt, cold cereals, hot instant cereals, hard boiled eggs and a waffle maker. This facility only offered, coffee and tea, granola bars and hot cereal packages (no bowls). Ind addition there were no tables and chairs provided for eating this meager meal.

This property is unsafe for family's with children, working girls ( prostitution is so open near this property girls on the street and parking lot with short dress under garment showing, most of the fast food close by or before 9pm, streets are dark limited street lights I would never stay here again.

Property is enclosed by a fence, entrance gate lets you enter and leave, spacious room with one bed, clean and simple room, refrigerator and micro wave, lots of pillows running from soft to hard, location of hotel is in a quiet and dark area at night, but safe. Breakfast was very very simple, coffee, orange juice, breakfast bars, some other items and oatmeal. Staff is excellent checking in and out, informing me that if I need anything feel free to call front desk. I was leery of the location, but after staying here, I would definitely repeat. I felt safe. Thank you to the lady registering me into the hotel, friendly and very helpful.

I thought we were supposed to get breakfast and there was none. Nobody was even in the office. They didn’t have some coffee finally at 7:30 after 2/3 of the people were all gone. we didn’t have any cups or plasticware. There was no coffee no coffee in the office.. there’s a gate all the way around the place when we got there was a homeless man with two big old pitbull standing right at the gate entrance. We didn’t know what to do since we’d already prepaid for it if we hadn’t I would’ve just left… there was no Kleenexes. We only had one hand towel and washcloth to share, but they have remodeled the room and that was really nicely done I thought.
