This is a charming place. They have a big law. With a fire pit,bbq lots of chairs, corn hole. 2 small gazebos there’s breakfast fresh fruit, yogurt or bagel cream cheese brought to your door. Owner very nice. If I had know how comfy & charming I would have stayed longer

It was really nice! We stayed in cottage 10 and the host really has added some nice touches. It is decorated really cute and there are robes, slippers, ear plugs, nice shampoo etc. It was quiet and mellow. This unit has a kitchenette with a little coffee pot and supplies. The grounds are really nice and cozy too with multiple sitting areas with fire pits, outdoor string lights. Really nice and welcoming. We did not have a lot of time, this stay, but we want to make a point to come back and enjoy all there is. I’d totally recommend! :)

Breakfast options offered was nice. Tony the owner was very friendly and welcoming and shared info about the downtown area and things to enjoy. Loved the grass area that offered corn hole and other games with seating, fire pit and hammocks. Would definitely stay again

The cottage was super clean. It had a full kitchen. The outside had entertainment for all ages. Multiple fire pits, a coy pond, disc golf basket, corn hole, just to name a few. The owner was extremely friendly.Only a mile from downtown. Best place I've stayed at!

The property was absolutely amazing! Little gazebos set up around the property with lights and music. 2 minutes to downtown. They bring breakfast to you at the time you ask. Absolutely over the top hospitality! I will absolutely be back! I've traveled to many places and this is definitely the top! Pet friendly also. You will not be disappointed!

We stayed in the cottage and loved it. Having a full kitchen was super convenient. Bed was comfy. If you have a large vehicle parking would be difficult and the road noise next the cottage are the only negatives. But we'll stay here again!

I loved our stay in our cottage. The grounds were beautifully maintained, cute and so comfortable. Our room was so nicely set up everything you could need. The whole place was beautifully decorated. You can tell the person that owns the place really loves what they're doing. We received great information on what to do in town. We loved downtown grass Valley, the shopping the food, especially the ice cream. I'm already planning a trip to go back for a girls weekend. This is the type of place if you wanted to run away and hide out for a couple days just to relax and find peace. You would come here.

Charming, cozy little retreat away from the hustle and bustle but just a few blocks away from the main drag, so you’re not far from the action when you’re rested up and ready to go. Dog friendly. We loved our stay! Tony was super helpful! The best host ever. The cabins were nice and clean and well stocked. And the bed was sooo comfortable. I’ve never slept in a bed that comfortable before, except for my own. There was a nice little sitting area next to a coi pond, and at night there was soft music playing outside and pretty lights in the trees. It was just so inviting! We loved it and already wish we could go back!!

Room felt small, bathroom claustrophobic with small dirty bottom shower curtain and left over wet washcloth. Bed on the soft side. Nearby road on the noisy side although that’s not necessarily the facilities fault. All that for over $200. Previously stayed at Goldminers inn…much better.

This is our third trip to the Pines over four years and I cant wait to go back. The attention to details like the music playing in the courtyard, the beautiful grounds, the plants on the patios, the slightly retro bar / BBQ area just makes the value soar! The bed was very comfortable, breakfast was light, fresh and delivered to us and their knowledge of the area very helpful. I will end with, cleanliness. Our room was spotless, very clean and that makes all the other perks exactly that a Perk! I cant say enough good things about The Pines. Go stay with them, you wont regret it!

This was a lovely place to stay - super clean, quiet, really nicely decorated and comfortable bed, great shower, great service from the folks there (Tony). It felt very private even though units in the inn are side by side. The little outdoor area is cute and a great place to relax under the trees. feels like a homey place to stay in contrast to corporate hotels or stale motels. Thanks for a great stay!

My idea of breakfast included isn’t a basket of eggs I have to cook with no bacon or sausage, fruit, pastries, bread for toast or biscuits. Don’t advertise cable TV when all you include is streaming channels.

We loved our retro motel. Stayed for one night, but wished we could’ve stayed longer to better enjoy the kitchen and front porch. We had Room 4 with a queen bed which felt great, soft but with crisp sheets.

Room 1. Check in was simple and entry was through an electronic lock which made access great. Nice studio room with a great little kitchen are and full fridge. Very clean. Bed was comfortable. Really appreciated the air conditioner. Not too far from town but far enough to be quiet. Bathroom shower was a bit small but understandable for a Studio room. Needed another role of TP though. Staff was great. Cost was reasonable

Bed was excellent, very nice room. Restaurants are about a mile into town. We really enjoyed Fontinellis for dinner, and a stroll down the historic sidewalk at the Del Oro Theater.

This property is amazing! My wife and I stayed in the one bedroom cottage this time. What a treat! It's like staying at a B&B. James was a fantastic host. The bagels and fruit left in our room for breakfast were delightful. Plenty of amenities to choose from. There is a hammock, a gazebo with relaxing music, cornhole and patio swings. The location is close to downtown, but it is on a main drive, so traffic can be a bit noisy. That being said, looking forward to spending more time here in the future.

LOVED our stay at The Pines Inn. We felt extremely pampered and SO well cared for. Tony went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome, and he knows how to make you feel special with thoughtful and sophisticated touches. We got in after dark. I had not checked my phone since 1 PM, so when we found the driveway, I didn’t know I had a text message to read as there’s no one on the property. After trying the lock pad for 10 minutes and not getting in, we called the phone number in the text message and got voicemail. After leaving a message, a lady answered and said to hit the pound key (button) and it opened up. We were so cold, and the space heater remained at 65 degrees until way after midnight. It was running all night and with the extra blanket, we were still cold. Pillows are extremely hard, and to try and get some sleep, I put a pillow case on one of the little blue back pillows from the chair. The only other problem was not seeing the tiny tag on the right water faucet telling me that the hot water was on the right side where everyone else has hot on the left. Too scared to try the shower!

Had a wonderful stay! Tony is a friendly and caring host. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicous and it was treat to sit on the patio, enjoying the beautiful scenery and listening to the birds as we ate it.

The team at Pines (Megan especially) were so lovely. We drove up from LA and knew we were going to get in late. They set up the room, including breakfast for the next morning, and processed payment. We were able to walk in to a clean, warm, beautiful room with food after a long drive. We want to come back again and explore the grounds, "honor" bar and rest of the property.

I LOVED my stay at the Pines and wish I could have stayed longer. Already planning another trip that way next summer and will for sure stay there again. Tony was nothing but hospitable and provided so many nice little touches to the service. He sent suggestions for places to eat, brought donuts in the morning and went around to each room in the evening with a little tea light for the porch. Having the outdoor space to hang out in was perfect and the room was comfortable, clean and the bed was super comfortable. I LOVED my stay at the Pines and wish I could have stayed longer. Already planning another trip that way next summer and will for sure stay there again. Tony was nothing but hospitable and provided so many nice little touches to the service. He sent suggestions for places to eat, brought donuts in the morning and went around to each room in the evening with a little tea light for the porch. Having the outdoor space to hang out in was perfect and the room was comfortable, clean and the bed was super comfortable. This was by far the easiest and most accommodating check-in to a hotel in all my 50 years. Hours before we arrived, I received a text message from the owner with a ton of useful info and the code to the door, in case we wanted to check-in at noon, for a tiny fee. This worked out perfectly for our needs so we jumped at the chance. After lunch for my mother’s special birthday, we went back to our cottage. While I was walking my two small dogs around the yard, I met one of the owners and a couple of his friends. Huge dog lovers! We talked for a while about the property and Grass Valley. I instantly regretted that we were only staying the one night, but my husband and I are already talking plans to go back again for a longer stay. Our cottage, the absolute cutest! The bed, so comfy! Everything was excellent. This is our new go to spot for relaxation, that’s for sure and we were told the rivers are where to visit when it’s hot so we can’t wait to try that out too.

Room 1. Check in was simple and entry was through an electronic lock which made access great. Nice studio room with a great little kitchen are and full fridge. Very clean. Bed was comfortable. Really appreciated the air conditioner. Not too far from town but far enough to be quiet. Bathroom shower was a bit small but understandable for a Studio room. Needed another role of TP though. Staff was great. Cost was reasonable

Upon arriving, the exterior looks a little sketchy but I think some of that was the tree leaves that were all over. They might have had some weather blow through I don't know. The rooms are nice and clean, Kitchen area was fine too. The staff was spot on helpful and friendly. The website states that it is within walking distance to town. I wouldn't want to walk it. I would stay there again.

Quaint little place with great atmosphere. Not far from town. Walkable. There was a tail-less cat that visited. Everyone I dealt with was friendly. The place was clean. A lovely experience. My only regret is that I didn't stay for more than a day.

The property was absolutely amazing! Little gazebos set up around the property with lights and music. 2 minutes to downtown. They bring breakfast to you at the time you ask. Absolutely over the top hospitality! I will absolutely be back! I've traveled to many places and this is definitely the top! Pet friendly also. You will not be disappointed!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at The Pines Inn and Cottages in Grass Valley. Tony is a gracious host who greeted us on arrival along with a sweet calico kitty and brought us a delicious breakfast of yogurt, fresh berries and grapes and bagels and cream cheese. He topped it all off with yummy caramel lattés he made himself in the little outdoor patio. We stayed in cottage #10, that was clean and nicely furnished, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The amenities ideal. We wanted to get away from the fast-paced and often “cold” corporate hotels so chose to stay in Grass Valley and dined in Nevada City nearby. We found both towns very charming, quaint, not touristy, the locals very friendly, genuine and kind. It was super relaxing. We would definitely stay here again.

What a gem of a place. Had to make a quick trip to Grass Valley for a funeral, found this darling place and decided to give it a try. What a wonderful surprise. Everything was just perfect. From the guy who checked us in to the nice breakfast. A+++++ from us. And the sheets are so comfortable, as was the bed and pillows. Thank you!

This little gem is a wonderful place to stay while in Grass Valley. We were welcomed by Tony with fresh watermelon served on ice and a cool glass of wine. The room was spotless, the bed a heavenly cloud and the kitchenette was perfect. There was extra seating on the patio outside our door where we enjoyed a personally delivered breakfast basket and lattes. The grounds are a peaceful garden with a koi pond, peaceful music playing and a comfortable seating area. We felt so welcomed and pampered during our stay. We will definitely return.

My idea of breakfast included isn’t a basket of eggs I have to cook with no bacon or sausage, fruit, pastries, bread for toast or biscuits. Don’t advertise cable TV when all you include is streaming channels.
