At mk | hotel münchen city, travellers like the central, walkable location near the Hauptbahnhof and Oktoberfest, but many warn about late‑night street noise and the gritty, red‑light surroundings, especially when windows must stay open due to no air conditioning.

This hotel left a lot to be desired. Location: It was in a fairly good location for walking (walking distance from train station and beautiful old town Munich, as well as markets and gardens) but the street it is on is a bit rough. I never felt unsafe, but I didn't want to hang out there at all. Room: Room was extremely small, the bed was uncomfortable, and there were two very flat pillows. On top of that, the room looked into a little interior courtyard that had all the garbages from the hotel in it, so when the staff would put out the trash it smelled extremely bad. Amenities: There aren't really any. On top of that, when we stayed there, our room's TV AND Wi-Fi were both not working. I mentioned the TV issue to the worker at the front desk and she explained the maintenance person was not there that day but gave us a free hotel breakfast as an apology. Unfortunately, later that night when we tried to watch some Netflix on our computer before bed we discovered that the Wi-Fi was also not working. We were going to mention this on check out, but there was no one at the desk when we left in the morning and we just dropped our cards into a little box. Overall the property feels more like a poorly run AirBNB - not a hotel experience at all. Will definitely not be returning and felt this was extremely bad value for the price we paid (€120).

Good: - Stefan is a great host. Staff at reception are great. - Location is good, very central and close to everything. - Check-in was pretty easy, straight forward. - The room was clean, with room service, changing sheets, regularly - Heated floors in the bathroom, pretty good. - Room is a bit small (even though it said KING room), but the bed is nice and comfortable, soft. Things not great: - Apart from a kettle and some coffee/tea, there are no other amenities, no mini fridge or any other things. Very basic for what it is. - Shower has no light in there, so it’s dark whilst you shower. There is light in the bathroom, but not in shower, which is strange. - The actual shower outlet drainage was super blocked. And if your shower water is running too fast, you end up flooding the entire bathroom, because the drain cannot keep up with the speed of the water flow. So you had to be very, very fast, quick and efficient or otherwise you will flood the shower. And the water does go away eventually, but it takes forever. - On level 3, where I was, it consistently smelt of food, cooking, oil, whatever else went on in the kitchen, its very overpowering and it’s 24/7 the smell throughout the entire level. - The location and area itself. Whilst it’s central in terms of distance to centre, the actual area itself is very, very foreign and uncomfortable at times, does not make you feel like you’re in Germany. It’s overpopulated by: African, Arab, Middle East and everything else NOT German.
