Northern Lights Village Saariselkä

We enjoyed our stay. Most activities were right on site making them very convenient. Activity costs were a little on the high side.

We stayed here for 3 nights and we actually saw some of the best Norther Lights for 2 nights! The cabin definitely has a fantastic view towards the sky and the towards north in general. The amount of activities available and timeslots available were more than sufficient for us to cover almost everything. All activities were managed and done very well and we enjoyed all thoroughly. I have to give a special shoutout to the team which did the "Search for Santa" activity. This is easily one of the best and most magical activity we have done, especially when looking at it from the little eyes of our 7 & 9 year old kids. This will be part of their memory (and ours) for a life time! Food options could have been better. We do not eat red meat and there was only Fish as the other option so we literally ate Salmon or some other similar fish for ALL meals. Breakfast too is repeated every day without any changes. At one point we went out to the nearby Kmart to buy instant noodles as the food options were really very few for those who do not eat red meat. If you are a Vegetarian or Vegan or need Halal food, you can\'t survive here. Getting your luggage to your cabin is gonna break your back as you have to load your luggage on the wooden sleigh and push through knee deep snow for quite a long distance. This sounds fun in the beginning until you start doing it. It becomes a horrible experience quite rapidly. But otherwise, the service from the staff has been top notch!

Wir haben zwei Nächte im Northern Lights Village in Saariselkä verbracht und waren insgesamt sehr begeistert. Unsere Aurora-Hütte war wunderschön eingerichtet – gemütlich, warm und perfekt, um direkt vom Bett aus den Himmel zu beobachten. Die Einrichtung ist modern, der kleine Kamin macht es super heimelig und das Bad mit Dusche war ein großer Pluspunkt. Die Hütte ist aufgrund der Bauform etwas klein, aber für ein paar Tage völlig ausreichend und sehr komfortabel. Das Haupthaus mit Rezeption, Bar und Restaurant ist ebenfalls stilvoll eingerichtet und hat eine tolle Atmosphäre. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Das Essen hätte besser sein können. Es war teilweise gut, teilweise eher mittelmäßig, und die Auswahl war nicht besonders groß. Hier hatten wir für den Preis etwas mehr erwartet. Wir haben eine der angebotenen Aktivitäten genutzt – die Husky-Safari im Herbst – und sie hat uns gut gefallen. Die Organisation war zuverlässig und das Erlebnis sehr schön. Natürlich ist die Unterkunft insgesamt recht teuer, wie alle Glasdach-Lodges in Lappland. Aber im Northern Lights Village fühlt es sich definitiv hochwertig an. Für uns war es das Geld wert, weil die Hütte, die Atmosphäre und die gesamte Anlage einfach etwas Besonderes sind. Wir würden wiederkommen – schon allein wegen der traumhaften Aurora-Hütte und der gemütlichen Anlage. ✨💙🌲

The Northern Lights village was a great property. Mother nature didn't cooperate with Northern Lights but it was a good stay. Travelers should note that this property is closed for the summer and opens in September and runs with limited staff and services until the busy season starts in November. Cabins were amazing, food was very good and staff was very friendly so would definitely recommend.

Great place really well run. Super helpful and friendly staff. We stayed 5 nights in Feb 2023 in cabin 17, which was great. Cabins 1 to 20 are at the northern most edge of the resort, so you have nice views north of trees and the aurora, and not looking at the backs of more cabins. Top tip, there is a path not shown on the map from opposite cabin 17 direct to reception. First morning we went to reception and arranged activities for every day with the super helpful staff there – snowmobiling, dog sledging, reindeer sleigh ride, and aurora lake trip, all of which were great fun. Good views of the aurora from the warmth and comfort of our cabin when the clouds cleared. Views from the lake (and on route to the lake) were even better due to darker skies. Thanx to Lancashire Matt for a great fun snowmobile ride along interesting back route paths on Lynx 600cc snowmobiles – they were pretty easy to drive, with no gears and lovely heated grips. Dog sledging was with 5 dogs pulling, one person sitting in the sledge and the other driving / hanging on for dear life :-D Swapped driver and passenger half way. Lovely scenery, but very chilly, so I'd recommend wearing a ski mask. Reindeer sleigh ride was nice and sedate, at walking pace, nicely wrapped up warm, again through nice scenery. O lugar é incrível, os iglus são de um bom tamanho e confortáveis, mas tivemos alguns problemas com o cofre que estava trancado e não conseguimos usar e apesar de reclamar nada foi feito. A internet também não era boa e muitas vezes não funcionava, também reclamos e nada foi feito. Ninguém apareceu para limpar e arrumar o quarto entre os dois dias que ficamos lá. Pelo preço que cobram nada disso deveria ter acontecido.

누워서 오로라보거나 별이 쏟아지는 밤하늘을 보려고 예약하였으나 눈이 계속 오고 날이 흐려서 둘다 보지 못함. 숙소는 깔끔하고 쾌적하고 굉장히 따뜻했지만 위의 이유로 만족도가 떨어짐.조식 석식 제공 되지만 석식은 종류도 많지 않고 퀄리티도 별로였고 오히려 조식이 괜찮았음.하지만 숙소 자체는 예쁘고 오로라만 본다면 전혀 돈이 아깝지 않을것 같음.

Llevamos a nuestra madre de viaje sorpresa por sus 60, ha sido todo un acierto. Hacía frío pero no tanto como para pasarlo mal. Las habitaciones cabañas del hotel eran monísimas y estaban siempre calentitas. El buffet era muy pequeño, pero la comida de calidad. Todo el personal del hotel era súper agradable (como todos los finlandeses que nos hemos encontrado la verdad). La ducha salía que podías cocerte unos macarrones directamente jaja así que recomiendo ponerlo siempre en la temperatura fría porque te escaldas. No se oía absolutamente ningún ruido de fuera. Ver las estrellas y las auroras desde la cama fue una absoluta maravilla. Tuvimos suerte la última noche de poder ver las auroras con más intensidad. En Saariselkä (al que llegas andando en 10 minutos) hay muchas rutas de trekking súper bonitas. Y hay un bosque detrás de la zona del hotel donde poder caminar también, nosotras vimos un alce precioso a lo lejos. Para ponerle una pega, el sofá cama que nos tocó (cabaña 21) era incomodísimo, se te clavaban todos los muelles; pero pedimos un par de nórdicos más en recepción para almohadillar y perfecto, aunque por el precio del hotel es algo que deben mejorar. Al igual que el olor de las cañarías de los baños. Por lo demás, perfecto

Hébergement de qualité mais avec quelques parties abîmées. Au vu du prix on pourrait avoir quelque chose de nickel. Tous les herbergements sont très (trop) proches les uns des autres. Le cadre du restaurant est magnifique.

Sehr schönes Zimmer/Haus mit Glasdach. Leider ist das Badezimmer sehr unpraktisch gestaltet. Unser Zimmer war bezüglich Sauberkeit für den Preis grenzwärtig. Preis allgemein eher zu hoch.

La struttura è ottima malgrado la nostra cabina non fosse perfettamente pulita, c’erano delle lenti a contatto sul tappeto e alcuni capelli in bagno lasciate chiaramente dalle persone prima, spero che sia soltanto un caso isolato e una mia sfortuna, da una struttura di questo livello e di prezzo mi sarei aspettato di più. Per il resto tutto perfetto, dallo staff alle escursioni che organizzano, al ristorante dove c’è una varia scelta di cibo.

Das Personal war überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war abwechslungsreiche und lecker. Es war sehr sauber.

핀란드의 첫 숙소가 여기였는데 모든 직원들은 너무 친절해서 기분이 좋았습니다. 하지만 화장실에서 하수구 냄새가 올라와서 아쉬웠으며 캐리어 피려고 의자를 옆으로 살짝 옮겼더니 밑에 커피를 누가 쏟아둔거 같았는데 그대로 있었네요. 청소 부분에서는 조금 아쉬운게 많았습니다. 그래도 이 숙소에 묵는 동안은 꿈꾸는 것 처럼 행복했습니다.

Wenn der Aurora Alarm der Resort-App losgeht, kann man vom Bett aus die Polarlichter tanzen sehen. Oder den Sternenhimmel beobachten. Es ist genug Platz für 2 Personen, die Badprodukte sind von der Marke Rituals. Alles war sehr sauber. Im wunderschön eingerichteten Restaurant gab es sehr gutes Essen vom Buffet! Wir haben drei tolle Ausflüge gemacht (Husky, Rentier Schlitten, Snow Mobile) mit sehr freundlichen Guides, die noch viel Hintergrundinfos gegeben haben. Gute Overalls, Schneestiefel und Handschuhe werden kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt. Mit dem Skibus kann man in 5-10 Minuten zum Skiresort fahren. Auch für Nicht-Skifahrer lohnt sich die Fahrt auf den Berg mit dem Sessellift für eine grandiose Aussicht über die Weiten Finnlands. In die kleine Stadt zum Supermarkt und Restaurants läuft man gemütlich in 10-15 Minuten. Es war alles perfekt und eine unbeschreiblich schöne Reise!!!

Stayed in one of the igloo’s and it was very romantic. Even though we did not see the Northern Lights we did get to see stars. It was quite enjoyable. A bucket list item. Staff is very polite and friendly.

My cabin was freezing. I would say this is an average hotel but you’re paying for the Possibility of seeing the lights from your room. The food options weren’t great. There were too many families so that tempered the romance for a lot Of the couples there. However, our guides For the activities were phenomenal.

존재 자체로 가치가 있는 노던라이츠. 오로라나 별을 볼 수 있길 기대하며 2박을 했는데 머무는 내내 눈이 내리고 흐렸어요. 북유럽의 겨울은 날씨가 복병네요. 그렇지믄 빌리지 자체가 너무 아름다워서 주변 산책만 해도 행복했어요. 사진 100장 찍음ㅋㅋ 침대가 높고 매우 푹신해서 다소 불편했어요. 오두막 형식의 지붕으로 내부에 죽는 공간이 많아서 좁게 느껴져요.

Aurora cabin was a likeable place to quiet down and if the weather permits, you’ll see the lights from your cabin. But there was no curtains for day time and it feels very bright to be in the cabin to rest. The room service tablet wasn’t working and was never replaced with new ones. When we went there, the snow was powdery and not good for any snow activities but after a frw days of snowing, there were snow mobile activities and we missed the chance as we didn’t know that it was available on the day. Would be nice if did the snow mobile. Food was very delicious 👍

Die Sterne reichen nicht, die man den Hotel geben möchte. Ein Traum, wundervoll, wunderbar, einzigartig, nicht in Worte zu fassen. Man muss das erlebte erstmal verarbeiten. Der Service der Mitarbeiter hat dazu beigetragen dieses so großartig zu eunem unvergesslichen Urlaub werden zu lassen. Wir kommen wieder und können es nur weiter empfehlen. Very very bad experience with food which ruined the entire experience! The welcome at reception was nice, cabin was decent, activities were also nice! However, when I came to dinner it was horrible. Dinner was all different salads. I am a vegetarian, even then it was quite unsatisfactory for it. On top of that there were no drinks like juices, cola or similar included in the dinner. Those were available for extra cost. No one was ready to answer saying don't work in restaurant, talk to manager and all! Overall the staff ruined the experience during the dinner. NOT RECOMMENDED!

La ducha salía que podías cocerte unos macarrones directamente jaja así que recomiendo ponerlo siempre en la temperatura fría porque te escaldas. No se oía absolutamente ningún ruido de fuera. Ver las estrellas y las auroras desde la cama fue una absoluta maravilla. Tuvimos suerte la última noche de poder ver las auroras con más intensidad. En Saariselkä (al que llegas andando en 10 minutos) hay muchas rutas de trekking súper bonitas. Y hay un bosque detrás de la zona del hotel donde poder caminar también, nosotras vimos un alce precioso a lo lejos. Para ponerle una pega, el sofá cama que nos tocó (cabaña 21) era incomodísimo, se te clavaban todos los muelles; pero pedimos un par de nórdicos más en recepción para almohadillar y perfecto, aunque por el precio del hotel es algo que deben mejorar. Al igual que el olor de las cañarías de los baños. Por lo demás, perfecto

Hébergement de qualité mais avec quelques parties abîmées. Au vu du prix on pourrait avoir quelque chose de nickel. Tous les herbergements sont très (trop) proches les uns des autres. Le cadre du restaurant est magnifique.

존재 자체로 가치가 있는 노던라이츠. 오로라나 별을 볼 수 있길 기대하며 2박을 했는데 머무는 내내 눈이 내리고 흐렸어요. 북유럽의 겨울은 날씨가 복병네요. 그렇지믄 빌리지 자체가 너무 아름다워서 주변 산책만 해도 행복했어요. 사진 100장 찍음ㅋㅋ 침대가 높고 매우 푹신해서 다소 불편했어요. 오두막 형식의 지붕으로 내부에 죽는 공간이 많아서 좁게 느껴져요.

Great place really well run. Super helpful and friendly staff. We stayed 5 nights in Feb 2023 in cabin 17, which was great. Cabins 1 to 20 are at the northern most edge of the resort, so you have nice views north of trees and the aurora, and not looking at the backs of more cabins. Top tip, there is a path not shown on the map from opposite cabin 17 direct to reception. First morning we went to reception and arranged activities for every day with the super helpful staff there – snowmobiling, dog sledging, reindeer sleigh ride, and aurora lake trip, all of which were great fun. Good views of the aurora from the warmth and comfort of our cabin when the clouds cleared. Views from the lake (and on route to the lake) were even better due to darker skies. Thanx to Lancashire Matt for a great fun snowmobile ride along interesting back route paths on Lynx 600cc snowmobiles – they were pretty easy to drive, with no gears and lovely heated grips. Dog sledging was with 5 dogs pulling, one person sitting in the sledge and the other driving / hanging on for dear life :-D Swapped driver and passenger half way. Lovely scenery, but very chilly, so I'd recommend wearing a ski mask. Reindeer sleigh ride was nice and sedate, at walking pace, nicely wrapped up warm, again through nice scenery. Transfer from and to airport was organised by the hotel for 70 Euros each way. Contact the resort in advance to request transfer. The office is not manned at weekends, so contact them in advance on

Wenn der Aurora Alarm der Resort-App losgeht, kann man vom Bett aus die Polarlichter tanzen sehen. Oder den Sternenhimmel beobachten. Es ist genug Platz für 2 Personen, die Badprodukte sind von der Marke Rituals. Alles war sehr sauber. Im wunderschön eingerichteten Restaurant gab es sehr gutes Essen vom Buffet! Wir haben drei tolle Ausflüge gemacht (Husky, Rentier Schlitten, Snow Mobile) mit sehr freundlichen Guides, die noch viel Hintergrundinfos gegeben haben. Gute Overalls, Schneestiefel und Handschuhe werden kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt. Mit dem Skibus kann man in 5-10 Minuten zum Skiresort fahren. Auch für Nicht-Skifahrer lohnt sich die Fahrt auf den Berg mit dem Sessellift für eine grandiose Aussicht über die Weiten Finnlands. In die kleine Stadt zum Supermarkt und Restaurants läuft man gemütlich in 10-15 Minuten. Es war alles perfekt und eine unbeschreiblich schöne Reise!!!

We stayed here for 3 nights and we actually saw some of the best Norther Lights for 2 nights! The cabin definitely has a fantastic view towards the sky and the towards north in general. The amount of activities available and timeslots available were more than sufficient for us to cover almost everything. All activities were managed and done very well and we enjoyed all thoroughly. I have to give a special shoutout to the team which did the "Search for Santa" activity. This is easily one of the best and most magical activity we have done, especially when looking at it from the little eyes of our 7 & 9 year old kids. This will be part of their memory (and ours) for a life time! Food options could have been better. We do not eat red meat and there was only Fish as the other option so we literally ate Salmon or some other similar fish for ALL meals. Breakfast too is repeated every day without any changes. At one point we went out to the nearby Kmart to buy instant noodles as the food options were really very few for those who do not eat red meat. If you are a Vegetarian or Vegan or need Halal food, you can\'t survive here. Getting your luggage to your cabin is gonna break your back as you have to load your luggage on the wooden sleigh and push through knee deep snow for quite a long distance. This sounds fun in the beginning until you start doing it. It becomes a horrible experience quite rapidly. But otherwise, the service from the staff has been top notch!

Wir haben zwei Nächte im Northern Lights Village in Saariselkä verbracht und waren insgesamt sehr begeistert. Unsere Aurora-Hütte war wunderschön eingerichtet – gemütlich, warm und perfekt, um direkt vom Bett aus den Himmel zu beobachten. Die Einrichtung ist modern, der kleine Kamin macht es super heimelig und das Bad mit Dusche war ein großer Pluspunkt. Die Hütte ist aufgrund der Bauform etwas klein, aber für ein paar Tage völlig ausreichend und sehr komfortabel. Das Haupthaus mit Rezeption, Bar und Restaurant ist ebenfalls stilvoll eingerichtet und hat eine tolle Atmosphäre. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Das Essen hätte besser sein können. Es war teilweise gut, teilweise eher mittelmäßig, und die Auswahl war nicht besonders groß. Hier hatten wir für den Preis etwas mehr erwartet. Wir haben eine der angebotenen Aktivitäten genutzt – die Husky-Safari im Herbst – und sie hat uns gut gefallen. Die Organisation war zuverlässig und das Erlebnis sehr schön. Natürlich ist die Unterkunft insgesamt recht teuer, wie alle Glasdach-Lodges in Lappland. Aber im Northern Lights Village fühlt es sich definitiv hochwertig an. Für uns war es das Geld wert, weil die Hütte, die Atmosphäre und die gesamte Anlage einfach etwas Besonderes sind. Wir würden wiederkommen – schon allein wegen der traumhaften Aurora-Hütte und der gemütlichen Anlage. ✨💙🌲

누워서 오로라보거나 별이 쏟아지는 밤하늘을 보려고 예약하였으나 눈이 계속 오고 날이 흐려서 둘다 보지 못함. 숙소는 깔끔하고 쾌적하고 굉장히 따뜻했지만 위의 이유로 만족도가 떨어짐.조식 석식 제공 되지만 석식은 종류도 많지 않고 퀄리티도 별로였고 오히려 조식이 괜찮았음.하지만 숙소 자체는 예쁘고 오로라만 본다면 전혀 돈이 아깝지 않을것 같음.

An amazing place to be! Staff was very helpful and friendly. Food was good too. Houses was clean. Sauna was fantastic. Would love to be back soon!!

Very very bad experience with food which ruined the entire experience! The welcome at reception was nice, cabin was decent, activities were also nice! However, when I came to dinner it was horrible. Dinner was all different salads. I am a vegetarian, even then it was quite unsatisfactory for it. On top of that there were no drinks like juices, cola or similar included in the dinner. Those were available for extra cost. No one was ready to answer saying don't work in restaurant, talk to manager and all! Overall the staff ruined the experience during the dinner. NOT RECOMMENDED!
