We stayed twice, three nights each time. Very good clean hotel. The arrangements were a little cramped. Service and welcome were excellent, breakfast very good but evening restaurant , although advertised was not open .

Hotell med bra läge nära stationen och centrum. Rent och välstädat men rätt daterat i stil. Vid besöket fungerade bara två av tre hissar (man höll på att installera en ny modernare hiss) och de som fanns var små varför köerna ibland var långa. Dock breda och bra trappor så det fick bli trappträning till våning 6 när jag inte orkade vänta. Sköna sängar. Måste man inte ha cool inredning men vill sova gott och ha nära till allt är detta ett bra val.

Hotel good price for what's offered. Single room small but adequate. Bathroom very small but useable as required. Hotel tired but clean and good breakfast. Three lifts so usually no long waiting time. All staff helpful and polite.

I had a fantastic experience at the Hotel Arthur! We arrived at 3 AM, expecting to just store our luggage and check in later. To our surprise, the staff kindly offered us a room to check in immediately, which was incredibly helpful and made our arrival much smoother. Additionally, the private sauna was a great touch and added to our overall enjoyment. The hospitality and comfort provided by the hotel made our stay memorable. Highly recommend!

The hotel is near the university, so everything like the market, the White Cathedral, the metro and the shopping centre is within walking distance (i.e. within 20 min). Breakfast was on standard. Staff were friendly and helpful to resolve any problems raised. They were also helpful to arrange the reasonable transport to the airport. The only disappointing things were the room facilities and the cleanliness. 1 of the pillow covers were not washed which still had the last user's odour. Hair was found too. There were hair and few dirt in the towels. The light at the washroom only worked by tapping it. Hair dyer did not work. The best thing in the room was the noise insulation. In terms of the price, location and the staff service rendered, the cons are justified.

I stayed 3 nights on the 6th Floor, in a very shabby room. The curtains were torn and hanging, they didn't pull open or shut. It was very basic, extremely dated, woodwork was chipped and generally reminded me of a basic bedsit room. However my fourth night a week later, booked at the same time was on my return from a rowing competition, and this night I had a single room on the 5th floor. This room was far more acceptable, almost incomparable and was more in keeping with what I had expected. It was however very noisy - guests on the same floor were obviously part of a small group and I eventually had to open my door and ask them to be a bit quieter - it was now 11:40pm and they had been back and forth to each others rooms - banging their doors and shouting through them to one another.

24h manned reception and very elaborate explanation during check-in. The breakfast buffet had a wide offer and food was good. We were lucky with the room and had a small separated sitting area next to the bedroom. The Hotel policy does not automatically service a room, but the service can be easily requested at the always manned reception.

Very nice hotel located in the middle of City centrum next to the park and therefore very quiet. The staff are all very friendly and helpful in any way. We arrived early and everything was ready so we got the room 4 hours early, also we had a bit later checkout. Only thing is the price for the sauna it's 10€ pr person, so we didn't use it. Very nice big comfytable rooms. We would stay here again if visiting Helsinki.

Great location, nicely kept room. Only issues were the numbers of stairs. There are a few steps to get to the lobby and then once you go up to your level in the lift, depending on your room location, there's potentially more steps you need to go up, then down, then up again to get there. It's a bit of a rabbit warren. Keep in mind if you have a heavy suitcase. Also no temp control in the room.

Our room had windows covering one wall. There were street lights shining into our room at night. The curtains were very difficult to close as they seemed to be stuck in the track so the light was a continuous problem. The shower drain was placed below the sink not in the shower. Since the tiles were not slanted towards the drain, the water flowed all over the bathroom. There was a squeegee to use to direct the water to the drain but the floor was still very wet and slippery. This is a safety concern.

My room like the hotel, it's location, the services provided, the welcoming and helpful staff day and night and costs including the provision of breakfast in the hotel's magnificent dining room with so many sympathetic guests from so many nations was beyond praise and enhanced my first visit to Helsinki as a British traveller. I intend to book return to your hotel for subsequent visits and recommend your hotel to anyone wishing to visit Finland. Informed the hotel to do room service but did not happen. People always smoke by the entrance so the hallway on level 2 always have that smoke smell. Breakfast is nice but does not change, everyday is the same. Hotel location is good but it’s on the slope, old and needed renovations. Value for money and friendly staff. Ok to stay for a few nights, quiet and safe.

This hotel is very conveniently located from the central station, within a very short walking distance. The room was clean and there are choices available for different number of people (which was very helpful for our group since our members have different arrival and departure dates). The staff was kind and helpful. The hotel staff allows flexibility check in (can give us the room as it is available) and check out (allows late check out as requested). The breakfast was also impressive, fresh and with variety of choices. Will recommend this hotel. One little thing to suggest is to provide some more space such as hooks in the bathroom.

The Arthur Hotel is an excellent hotel located in the heart of Helsinki. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the hotel is older but well kept up. They have a nice buffet breakfast which is included in their rates. The hotel's location is very good as well. Its a 5-10 minute walk from the train station and a 10-15 minute walk from the waterfront/market area. It is also located next to a big park which is excellent for jogging and walking. The park connects to the 1952 Olympic Games site. So overall, this is a very nice hotel, in a very good location and I highly recommend it.

Great location for stay in Helsinki. Good clean room with shower and toilet..Breakfast was included in price and included most things people want. 3 lifts all working well. Staff always helpful. Many sites, cafes, bars, restaurants nearby. Beds comfortable.

Nice and clean hotel convenient location for the city and tourist attractions. The room did look a little dated but was very clean as was the bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and approachable. We arrived at 0800 in the morning and check in was not until 15:00 however staff said the room is ready now which was a welcome relief after travelling from Australia. The breakfast was buffet style with everything from meats and cheeses through to fruit and eggs bacon etc.

This is a good value, no frills hotel. The breakfasts were excellent with a wide choice of foods. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was warm, and quiet with a fantastic bathroom and shower. The hotel is so close to the centre of Helsinki and the central station, with access to the airport

Only three minutes from the station. Friendly efficient staff used to the questions & needs of tourists. Room was clean & comfortable though there was the distant rumble of trams even on the 5th floor. A tasty breakfast was appreciated but weird to only offer bacon at an extra cost. There are no bargains in Finland but Hotel Arthur offered reasonable value for money

Centrally located YMCA hotel in Helsinki. Parts of the rooms are proper, but dated. Others are up to date and modern, some even with AC. Due to fowl smell in our first room we received a new, very nice modern room on the 8th floor. Very silent and aery inner court yard, with views of the top floor YMCA basketball gymnasium. Very nice an varied buffet breakfast at €18, if not inlcuded in room rate. Also gluten free products part of the buffet, breads, carelian pastry & muffins brought heated to your table. At a surcharge bacon €3, sparkling wine €5/12cl.
