Quality Inn Superior - Duluth

Outdated but we enjoyed our stay! Staff was friendly attentive and quick. Clean, breakfast was ok but it’s your typical hotel breakfast, we ate and were fine with it. Pool was fun and hot tub was perfect temp. Can I add that I have never seen a sauna at a hotel before and they had one. How stinking cool!!!

We have stayed here many times. Our room has aways been clean. The beds are comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast is decent. Rooms are reasonably priced.The pool area is nice but they are often out of pool towels so you have to go ask for them. I am very disappointed that since it was bought out by The Quality Inn they no longer offer fully refundable rooms, which was a big plus for why we would stay here. Now you have to pay an extra fee to get a refundable room.

Blood on comforter and sheets like some one had shot up in there. Got new ones had to make my own bed. Hot tub didn’t work. Sketchy people roaming around outside.

The staff was nice and the breakfast options were pretty good. There were many things out of order like the water fountain, vending machine credit card option on all, and no elevator to bring all your stuff up to the second floor.

Pool bottom was filthy same for hot tub. So bad I couldn’t even put my toes in !

Checking on was ok, but we discovered the pool was closed for the kids. The pool was the only reason we booked this hotel. Unfortunate.

Nice, inexpensive (in the area) hotel. Pool was warm, which was nice. Little disappointed that the jets in the hot tub didn't work (stayed for the hot tub because we were sore after a day of helping people move). Shower had great water pressure and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was pretty simple.

Great staff, large room size for 4 of us, tasty and well supplied breakfast, nice size pool and hot tub with generous schedule.

Property was fine and pool was great (nice warm temp) but when asking for another set of towels (only two sets for three guests), I was told they were totally out because it was end of day. Provided no options for a very basic hotel expectation.

The hotel was ok the beds were not the best and the pillows gave little support. Pool would of been great except the sauna wasn't hot the hot tub had very little jets that were working. Pool was warm though and spacious. I have been to many hotels and know never to bring glass to the pool but at this place you were not allowed to bring any drink to the pool side and was told rudely by the employee working of such rule. We were the only ones in the pool at the time. Also not allowed to bring towels from pool pack to room so dripping water all over carpet when returning to room. Also no elevator so many trips up and down stairs when loading and unloading vehicle.

When you register 4 people in a room, there should be 4 towels not 3. The next day we only received 2 towels. There weren’t any pool towels either day. Our fridge wasn’t working but once we went to the front desk it was fixed that day. The hotel was clean in the main areas. The smell on the 2nd floor at the end of the hallway was unpleasant.

The room and bathroom were very dirty. Lots of things splattered on the walls and floors. Very dusty. I brought cleaning wipes and wiped down a lot of dirt.

It was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but it had a strong smoke odor. I reported it to customer service, and they only provided a spray for the room.

Bathroom had some mold and floor could have been cleaned a little better, room was like a sauna when we first walked in and hard to regulate temperatures after that. A pillow that had a blood stain on it and breakfast wasn't anything special. Beds were decent to sleep on and the location to downtown Duluth/Bentylville was nice. Think all in all was a older hotel and for one night the price we paid I wouldn't expect it to be extravagant but maybe remove the mold and bloody pillow case and would have gave a better review!

The bed was noisy and lumpy. Room had ants.

We reserved two rooms - one room had a dirty toilet with urine on the toilet seat. The other room has an a/c unit full of mold on the vents. The refrigerator was also grimy with fingerprints.

Musty cigarette smell to the whole hotel. Staff member wasn’t trained, was like it was his first night. Dated hallways and flooring. Sketchy area for a hotel.

Staff was awesome. There was mold growing on top of the shower which was gross brought it to there attention no apology offer for remuneration anything. Other than that everything was great as far as I could tell. Beds were a little too firm for me. Linens were clean and very comfortable.

Didn’t think it was worth 144.00 a night. Billboard outside my window even with the curtains closed light came in. Just was disappointed. Had to actually get out of bed to turn the tv on and off remote wouldn’t do it.

Excellent stay, spacious room and confortable but no elevator if you are at 2nd floor

The room was large and had blackout curtains which I loved. The bed was comfy enough, however the pillows were super lumpy and there wasn't any variety to soft vs. firm. I have neck pain and forgot to bring my own pillow with so was hoping they'd have a few different options, but that didn't seem to be the case. Overall, this place was clean and a good value for what you pay. We would come back again.

This is the nicest Quality Inn I have ever seen. The staff and accommodations were average, not bad or good. I forgot that Quality Inns don't have an elevator, so my husband grumbled as we carried our bags upstairs to our room. The decor is cabin-chique, with lots of wood paneling and taxidermy. They have a fireplace set up in the lobby with comfy furniture. Walls were a littlw thin, so it took a while before people stopped running up and down the hall and settled down for the night. Free breakfast had the typical continental breakfast items plus a pancake maker. Room was clean.

Okay place to stay but you could hear everything. People talking in the hallway was crystal clear. Doubt I will ever stay here again.

Very clean, updated, good hot breakfast. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Larger than normal fridge in the room. Some construction nearby, but never heard and work. Booked it again!

Nice property - clean, well maintained, good breakfast available, decent price overall. My only complaint was the bed was super, super soft (not exactly my preference) and the pillows were ridiculously over stuffed (too tall & not in any way comfortable for me to sleep with. I ended up using a rolled up bath towel for a pillow instead of using the actual pillow.) However, my personal bed & pillow preferences shouldn't take away from the quality maintenance of the property itself & its other amenities.

Beautiful place to stay! The inn was clean quiet and the atmosphere was relaxing after a long drive. The added free breakfast was a great start to our day before we headed out. The hostess greeted us with a friendly smile and good morning and inquired if we needed any help. Her friendliness and bright smile was a great start to our day.

I was very excited to stay here but was very quickly disappointed. The lobby and pool were nice and clean. But when we returned to the room after the pool, things went downhill fast. The water in our room was either burning hot or freezing cold. I spent 20 minutes desperately trying to get it to be reasonable enough to stand under with no luck. My boyfriend went to speak with the front desk so I could at least get my dirty clothes back on. The employee told him he couldnt move us, couldnt fix the issue, and said he didnt want to but would come look at the issue. He "fixed" the water (he got it luke warm but it was coming out of both the shower head and faucet) and left. As soon as I got shampoo in my hair, the same issue began again. I ended up filling the ice bucket with cold and hot water until it was safe to pour on myself and showering that way. They moved our room for our second night, but this felt completely unacceptable for a place I paid to stay at. None of the employees showed any care or concern for the fact that we had an issue. It felt like they would rather not speak to us. When we approached the front desk in the morning after the shower incident, one of the front desk employees started shouting at us that the pool wasnt open yet (we were not dressed for the pool) before we even got to the desk, as if their goal was to avoid engaging with us. None of the morning people even asked us what the issue was. I would not recommend.

Parts of the hotel are decent. The location is rather creepy. The manager could use a lesson on customer service. I had to move rooms in the middle of the night due to water pouring through the ceiling in the bathroom. (I understand things happen and can’t be prevented or predicted.) The only thing I had a problem with was there was not even one apology from the “manager”. I wasn’t upset until she acted like I was the inconvenience and had an attitude.

First they refused to check us in 20 minutes early. We were then going to sit in lobby to wait and i was going to get a coffee from the breakfast area and was told it was for paying guests only. (we had reservations). Breakfast was cold and terribly equipped with silverware, plates, cups. We loved the rooms and bedding was amazing, but staff and services were horrendous.

Isaiah is an absolutely wonderful desk clerk. His warm greeting when I arrived made me feel most welcome and delighted that I chose this hotel!

The front desk receptionist was amazing! She really made the stay a good experience. We will definitely be back.

Staff was friendly and hospitable

The inside was great loved how it looked and felt outside it looked out of place and in an abandoned area mostly except for a great BBQ place right next door. Worth going again just don't judge by outside looks its way better on the inside.

Overall a good stay. Great location.

Nice hotel. On the border of MN/WI. 6 Miles from Canal Park. Lots of parking available. Huge room. Comfortable beds. Great free breakfast food. The breakfast nook could be a little bigger. Seating was little tight. It was a little musty when we got in the room but once we turned on the air conditioning, it was fine. I wish they had an elevator, even if it is just two floors. We had a lot of stuff to carry up the stairs. I also wish they had an automatic front door. Hard to open the front door when our hands were full. And I wish they had a listing for the channels on the TV. I called the front desk to ask what channel NBC was and they didn't know. Despite all of this, I would still stay here again.

Hotel is right by Highway, lot of noise from traffic.

This a very nice stay for 1-2 nights in Duluth area. If you want value for your $. This is great option when Duluth hotels are sky high during events. Definitely stay here again. The area is nothing fancy. Quick in and out to Duluth.

Excellent location and overall value.

With the road construction in the area ,the hotel was a easy drive to the areas attractions.

Area around the hotel seems a little sketchy at night. Otherwise it was quiet and the bed comfortable. Great price as well on a busy fall weekend. Breakfast could have a few more options but was grateful it was there. I will be back!

Breakfast had lots of options.

Every staff member encountered was very professional and welcoming. The hotel was nice and fairly well up kept. Overall our stay was very good and I think for the quality of the hotel and amenities it was priced very competitively. That said, I think our room could and should have been cleaner upon our arrival. There was some debris left from previous occupants, especially in the darker parts of the room so thoroughly vacuumed the room was not, several stray hairs in the bathroom were missed but having worked at a resort in my teens I understand it’s very difficult to remove all the hair guests can leave behind, but still, I think there is some room for improvement there. Breakfast options were on the skimpier side and probably a little inadequate for the size of the hotel. The automatic pancake machine was consistently running out of batter and generally had a line of guests creating a kind of choke point. Dining seating is also a bit minimal with only 4 tables with 4 chairs each and a 5 stool counter for 21 total seats inside. There is a outside patio as well to sit weather permitting, but still. A 3 hour breakfast window, 50 room hotel, minimal seating, and a slow process to fill your plate if you desire pancakes makes it tricky. Biscuits and gravy or toast are the other hot breakfast options. Adding a 2nd pancake machine would go a long way I think. Overall, for the price and location, we’d stay here again. The beds were comfortable and our room was quiet.

Was a nice hotel overall. No elevator. Best part was that they will make (frozen) pizzas at the front desk, they were delicious! The pool was nice and warm, room was clean, breakfast was simple but good!

Staff was excellent. Rooms could use some upgrades. Breakfast was all processed foods mostly with some fruits. All day coffee in the commons was nice. Pool area is comfortable.

Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast. It was confusing because the signs said breakfast was served until 10, but they were closing up breakfast at 9. No one seemed to know end of breakfast time. Otherwise, the pool was fun for the kids. Great stay for a couple of nights.

It was close to Duluth for Bentleyville. They offer Heggies until 2am and breakfast was good.

We asked for handicap. We did receive first floor. The air conditioning on high cool when first arrived-9pm. It was cold in room. We turned heat on- there is no regulation on cooling or heating- so then hot in room. The beds are very firm, hard on back. The breakfast was wonderful all items- scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, waffles, cereal, juices, coffee, etc. That was the very best breakfast served. Area is in a quiet area.

Breakfast was disappointing. No eggs or meat. Paid $160 for one night and it wasn’t worth the price.
