Very disappointing experience – not worth the price. When paying €800–€1,600 per night, I expect at the very least to have access to a sunbed by the pool or at the beach. Unfortunately, this was not the case at Monte Mulini. Sunbeds are also rented to outside visitors, while hotel guests are left without one. If you want to secure a sunbed, you basically have to get up at 7:00 in the morning and reserve it with a towel. Even worse, some guests seem to receive preferential treatment, with staff reserving sunbeds for them. We found some of the staff unfriendly and not very professional, which is simply unacceptable for a hotel in this price category. The breakfast was very good and definitely one of the positive aspects of our stay. However, apart from that, the hotel itself feels rather old and dated, especially considering the very high room rates. For €800–€1,600 per night, I expect a completely different level of service and guest experience. No, thank you. We will not return to Monte Mulini.

Generally we do not return to the same hotel or resort - there is a whole world to chose from. But we are so impressed with Monte Mulini that we have now stayed on 4 occasions. The hotel and resort just tick all the boxes. An Adults only hotel, in a beautiful location, within a 20 minute (slow stroll) into a pretty town which has stunning sunsets and plenty of wonderful places to eat. The town has a lovely relaxed atmosphere - plenty of cobbled steps and streets (could be a challenge if you are not steady on your feet). The staff at Monti Mulini are amazing and will do their best to make your stay a happy one. Bojana and the pool bar staff kept our drinks flowing whilst we were lounging in the sun; Sandra greeted us in the morning and made us feel so welcome. Not one member of staff - from reception, the wellness centre, the lobby bar, the restaurant, the housekeeping - didn't have a smile. You get the impression that Maistra treat their employees as well as they do their guests and that makes for a wonderful atmosphere. Will we be going back - absolutely. Would we recommend - 100%.

On arrival, the views of the bay from the reception area were breathtaking. The staff were so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was nothing like we had experienced before. There was a huge selection at the buffet plus you could order from a menu where everything was freshly cooked to order. This included everything from minute steak and vegetarian options to sweet pancakes and waffles, you could even enjoy a glass of champagne! Breakfast was served until 12pm so plenty of time to work up an appetite. Our room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. There were luxury products replenished daily and everything you could think of was available. We had a deluxe room which was on the upper floor with beautiful views over the bay. There was a supplement for this but worth every penny! The hotel is outstanding! From arrival to departure, overall the hotel exceeded our expectations.

The only disappointment was that several outlets in our room didn’t work, which created some inconvenience during our stay. While the front desk was always polite and eventually offered a room change after multiple conversations, we were surprised the issue wasn’t addressed sooner or followed through on more proactively, as the hotel otherwise delivers a very high-end experience.
