Hotel is very good overall -BUT- the hotel says it has available parking spaces which is not the case and you have to park somewhere else (in our case a €36,- a day parking about 900 m. from the hotel), it is written in the hotel description but I don't know why a hotel is allowed to say it has available parking spaces while that technically means you have to park your car somewhere else.

Overall very happy with the hotel, but very dissatisfied with the fact that it is listed as "Parking Available". Public parking is not "Parking Available". If so, all hotels in Hamburg have parking available as one had to walk 5-7 minutes for the nearest parking garage which in addition was over 30 EUR for a night.

The room was great, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downside was that parking is about 3 blocks away...probably unavoidable in Hamburg! But it was easy to walk to all the great sight in downtown Hamburg from this hotel. I highly recommend.

We had to ask for towels twice before getting them. Parking was not at the hotel but in a parking garage 5min walk away from hotel, I don't consider this hotel parking..

We were at Nikolai Hotel for 6 nights and our stay was awesome. The room was clean and cozy. Breakfast was one of the best and the staff specifically at breakfast, all were really kind and helpful. No negative point to mention.

Nice staff. property slightly past its glory as maintenance lacking, with skirting board coming off around sliding doors, wardrobe handle ripped off and not replaced, shower door slightly bent and no longer sealing and our minibar not working so I had to store my medication pen in the reception fridge and ask the bar staff to chill the champagne from the room minibar. Slight inconvenience Nice location as in between centre and harbour area and boutique feel to it.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Rooms are large and luxuriously decorated, with extra large beds. One of the best properties of our trip. Could not recommend highly enough for a great stay in Hamburg. 5 stars for sure!

A very nice hotel,great quiet room with nice decorations,windows that can open for fresh air. Great bathroom. Large TV. A plus: the Nespresso type coffee maker! I enjoyed it! The mini fridge a bit cramped.. Very nice linens. I had a hard time stepping in the hotel on the street level, they use very strong perfumed diffusers that affect the breathing, I had to wear a mask from the front door till the elevator. A poor common practice in Europe, with the false conviction that the perfumed sprays and diffusers make the air better, when indeed they replace the good oxygen..Not helping the eco system!

Really nice breakfast. Good bed linen. We had a superior room and the bedroom layout is very alternative. The bathroom is a part of the bedroom and the toilet and shower is like two separat confined areas. Not enough room. It’s like pooping and showering in a wardrobe. Not very comfortable and a little strange - very open but not spacious.I can’t recommend thus type og room.

Lovey room with a very comfortable bed. Reception is located out of the main entry so you rarely see the staff. Didn’t partake in the breakfast as it was too expensive. Reasonable coffee at the bakery on the next corner. Only real downsides is that the minibar doesn’t have any room for personal items and the shower leaks water onto the floor in the walk way. Those aside I would highly recommend

Das Morgenpersonal an der Rezeption, war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Auch das Frühstückspersonal war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Das Abendpersonal an der Rezeption hat uns leider erstmal von oben bis unten begutachtet, bevor es uns die Frage, die wir gestellt hatten, beantwortet hat. Auf Grund der aktuellen Umbauten des Spa-Bereiches finde ich das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis mangelhaft.

Nikolai is an excellent hotel in a marvelous location. The staff is courteous and did everything to make us feel at home. The Superior room with the bath tub fits 2 people :-) and is very nice for a warm relaxing bath with a person close to you. I warmly recommend Nikolai.

Staff was not friendly at all. We arrived about 1/2’hour early before check in time from an international flight. We were tired and hungry. Staff told us to wait with our luggage in the crowded entryway. We asked if their advertised bar/restaurant was open but it was too early for the bar and too late for the restaurant. There is NOWHERE nearby to walk to get some food.

Three times during the afternoon of my stay I contacted the reception staff members and advised that I needed my room temperature dropped to 18 degrees as I can’t sleep at the 21 degrees it has been automatically set at. All three agreed to do so however my room stayed at the 21 degree level and I had no sleep for the night. As proof of this I have attached photo’s that I took at 1am, 3am and 5am. I have 7 hours of travelling to do today and now need to do it on no sleep. This is unacceptable and dangerous.

I selected this hotel as it was near Miniature Wunderland which was the purpose of my visit to Hamburg It is only 5 minutes walk, crucial if you have a timed ticket that limits when you can get in I didn’t know that there is a hotel Of the same chain in Vienna which is on my tour. Very elegant hotel! Beautifully decorated rooms with espresso machine, kettle, steam iron and mini bar. Staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was amazing. There is a buffet as well you can order from a menu. If you are driving you can park in front of the hotel to check in. The public parking lot less than a 5 minute walk. We absolutely loved the hotel and location!
