Nice place, inexpensive hotel in an otherwise pricey area. Gender neutral shower area, but there are several showers with private, lockable rooms (2x4 feet) just outside of the shower itself (shower door is also lockable). Showers were kept tidy, and full bottles of body soap and shampoo were available in each shower unit. Bathrooms were also shared but were gendered, and also kept tidy. Staff gave us options for western style (bed frames) versus traditional (futon on ground) but the "western style" just had the same futons but on the bed frames. Not a deal breaker for me but I could see a typical westerner being unhappy about it. Staff was very nice and friendly, and they held our luggage for us after check out since our flight was later in the day and we were able to explore. Tied to a 24 hour cafe downstairs and they have a coin laundry attached. There is a small playground (metal slide and 2 swings) right out front of the hotel/cafe doors.

Wonderful hotel and cafe. Staff were very friendly and the food at the cafe was fantastic. Its very conveniently located near the Yamanote line and the Chiyoda line. The rooms are compact and comfortable, shared shower rooms were clean and worked great.

The room has no space for anything other than the beds and your luggage. Other than that, the property has everything one could ask for. They change the bedsheets everyday, the bathrooms are always clean and stocked up. Food at the venue is decent, and it's close to multiple metro and bus stops.

Classic futons on floor for sleeping arrangements, rooms had air conditioning. Common bathrooms with plenty of showers, never had to wait. Eating area provided toast for breakfast and a dinner menu, but we were never around in evening so did not try restaurant. Very quiet area, easy walking distance to train station.

The hotel is OK for the price range, if you're only staying for a couple days in Tokyo. Pros: - It is located blocks away from Yanaka Ginza street, great traditional spot to go get some souvenirs, textiles and street food. - 2 subway stations nearby at a walkable distance (5-10 min). - The reservation includes daily simple breakfast (pretty much toasts, coffee and tea). - While hotel has shared bathrooms, there are plenty of showers on each floor, so you don't have to worry about waiting. Cons: - The wifi service is poor and unstable, they have lots of connections, but none of them actually works, except the one on the café. - When nobody is at the front desk, it can take a while for someone from the staff to come by. - While staying, I needed to make an international phone call to contact my bank, and after explaining the situation to the guy at the front desk, he was rude and said he wouldn't let me use their phone as it would be too expensive, even though I told him I'd pay for the charges.

Room was clean, but was missing a table for a three person room. Was only cleaned once in the 11 days, but the staff was accommodating and provided us new sheets and blankets when asked. Staff was extremely friendly and even pointed us toward a sento that was tattoo friendly. Overall a great experience, but the room could have used one more cleaning and a table.

The rooms are a fantastic size and over sized if you’re travelling solo like I was. The property is starting to look a little dated in many areas but not to say they are all dirty, they could use an update. The only issue I found was a small amount of mould growing on the door to the balcony.

Gonna be brutally honest. The only two positive things I have to say are that the location was pretty nice, central enough but not overfilled. And that the staff I met were quite nice. However (!) the positive reviews and pics are a little deceiving. I had the traditional room and while I get that it’s meant to be simple, it didn’t have any storage opportunities. You have to store everything on the floor, basically. Also, it really annoyed me that the room didn’t have any mirror, not even a small one. Forget outfit planning unless you wanna get changed in the toilets / showers to then look at yourself in the common wash rooms! Hated that! Also, the room and the hallways smell rancid. It’s a mix of moldy smell and just “come down”. The showers are definitely come down. One of the showers smells so horribly of mold, when you stand in the common wash room and it’s open you can’t even get ready in peace. The mold is easy to spot - all over the shower ceiling. It’s literally a health hazard to be in there. Reception is only 24/7 “officially”. Unofficially I waited half an hour at the reception in the morning only to find out no one’s there except the guy responsible for the breakfast (who was rather helpful though). Speaking of breakfast - what breakfast?! First time I thought I walked in at the wrong time, but the second time confirmed it: The breakfast is literally just toast and a random soup. That’s it. Like they just wanted the “breakfast included” option …

I knew that the bathroom facilities were shared, but the cleanliness was worse than I expected. It was unpleasant to see other people's hair every morning while washing up. The accommodation was also not properly cleaned, as there was still trash left under the bed from previous guests.

Nippori is a nice neighborhood to stay in. The staff were polite. The room was old and worn. There was a large group of school kids from Europe staying who were a bit loud and messy in the shared toilet and shower rooms. Wifi was OK but not great. One of the cheaper options in Tokyo that was available so can't complain too much.

The staff and service was excellent but unfortunately the room itself was underwhelming. In the traditional Japanese room, there was no space except for the futons. The tatami mats were very uncomfortable and the closet was also very small, it was just cramped in general. The toast during the morning breakfast was delicious though.

We had a great time the night we stayed. The hotel clerk, Kenta, was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to help us. Such a great guy! We ate 3 meals in the hotel restaurant. Both meals that we paid for we're excellent and the kitchen staff did a great job! The complimentary breakfast was basic, but good! Hotel is located a short distance from the train station in a quiet little neighborhood. Loved the area too.

Staff are friendly, and the facility was clean and well-maintained. They have free luggage storage room, and the front desk kept our valuables. There are small shops and cafes in the area, and it’s nice to walk around.

The hostel is staffed 24 hrs. And very helpful so no need to worry if you need help from the venue. The area is also a tourist attraction but still quiet and peaceful. You can experience the way of life of the people in the area mix with tourists. The hostel is 11 mins from JR station with small up and down slope. It’s not very convenient for a luggage but we still manage to slide it up the slider beside the stairs. It was quite a challenge walk but it was a nice area to stay.

The shared facilities were clean, and the rooms were comfortable. The staff were also incredibly nice and helped my friend make a few calls since we didn't have a japanese phone number.

The hotel is OK for the price range, if you're only staying for a couple days in Tokyo. Pros: - It is located blocks away from Yanaka Ginza street, great traditional spot to go get some souvenirs, textiles and street food. - 2 subway stations nearby at a walkable distance (5-10 min). - The reservation includes daily simple breakfast (pretty much toasts, coffee and tea). - While hotel has shared bathrooms, there are plenty of showers on each floor, so you don't have to worry about waiting. Cons: - The wifi service is poor and unstable, they have lots of connections, but none of them actually works, except the one on the café. - When nobody is at the front desk, it can take a while for someone from the staff to come by. - While staying, I needed to make an international phone call to contact my bank, and after explaining the situation to the guy at the front desk, he was rude and said he wouldn't let me use their phone as it would be too expensive, even though I told him I'd pay for the charges.

Wonderful hotel and cafe. Staff were very friendly and the food at the cafe was fantastic. Its very conveniently located near the Yamanote line and the Chiyoda line. The rooms are compact and comfortable, shared shower rooms were clean and worked great.

Location was perfect for the Nippori station (Keisei Skyliner for Narita airport and JR lines were a 12 min walk and Sendagi station was very close by for local trains as well)

We had a great time the night we stayed. The hotel clerk, Kenta, was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to help us. Such a great guy! We ate 3 meals in the hotel restaurant. Both meals that we paid for we're excellent and the kitchen staff did a great job! The complimentary breakfast was basic, but good! Hotel is located a short distance from the train station in a quiet little neighborhood. Loved the area too.

Bon établissement au coeur d' un quartier sympa et a proximité des endroits à visiter ,pratique avec les lignes de train a nippori,ou bus de proximité. Pas grand choix de petit dejeuner.chambre minimaliste,pas trop de possibilité pour manger comme une cuisine commune ,ne serait ce que bouilloire ou micro ondes ,car petit café-resto sur place

Always a pleasure to stay here. The staff are helpful and friendly. My favorite staffer remembered me from previous stays, indicative of how much these are "people persons". The Yanaka neighborhood where the property is located is charming and fun to walk around and through.

The staff were really accommodating as well as the hotel is very well maintained. I would definitely recommend this especially if your visiting Japan in groups. There are 2 train station very close to the hotel plus a supermarket few minutes walk. There is a convenient store just by the corner and some very cheap restaurants nearby if you choose not to eat in the restaurant. The hotels restaurant itself offers very good healthy meals though. I would book again for my young family if we visit Tokyo again.
