We had an amazing stay at the APA Hotel & Resort Ryogoku Eki Tower. Quiet area that was nice to come home to after a long 30000 step day. Facilities were clean. Accessibility to the gym, onsens and laundry is a major perk. They also have their own 24 hour Lawson on the 2nd floor. This was a game changer! The only drawback was their elevator system. I found between the hours of 8 - 1030 AM it took a long time to get an elevator to take us down stairs to the main floor due to the heavy traffic with other guests. There were a few times we were waiting for 20+ minutes before being able to get on one of the elevators. We often times found ourselves pressing the UP button just to get on an elevator to then go down. Overall, great stay. But something needs to be done to make the elevators more efficient! Would hate to miss a reservation due to the elevator system!

It was a value for money hotel with a public baths in the basement. It is a self contained hotel and had everything within the hotel - restaurants, swimming pool, smoking area, and even a convenience store! One downside was that they let underage kids stay on their own without the guardians. So the kids who were staying on my floor were freely playing loudly in the corridors after 22:00 every night I stayed and that was a real nuisance. In the end, they changed my room when I made a complaint and resolved the issue. Would come back to this hotel in the future.

Good location. It’s 7 minutes walk to train station. Lots of good food in the area. We booked the 3 single beds room. The hotel room is small. We put our luggage’s underneath our beds. I visited the onsen on B1 floor. It was a nice hot spring. There’s a convenient store inside the hotel. The only problem with this hotel is their laundry facility. There are only 8 sets of washers and dryers. It’s not enough since it’s a big hotel. It doesn’t matter what time you go, there was always a line up to use the machines. The dryer is only good for a few pieces of clothing for one hour run. If you have more, it will take more than 2 hours. Despite we put in more coins in the dryer, our clothes weren’t dry after 2 hours. We took them back to the room to hang dry. I suggest to use a laundromat outside the hotel instead if you need to wash clothes during your stay.

This is currently my favorite APA Hotel in all of Japan and currently my favorite hotel in Tokyo. For a budget friendly hotel, this place is hard to beat. You are situated right next to the train station and have a variety of restaurant options just a 5 minute walk away. I personally recommend Tonkatsu Hasegawa. The rooms are clean and the amenities are fantastic by American standards, but the real selling point for me is the 24/7 Lawson konbini on the 2nd floor. This is a game changer if you find yourself in a pinch for food or are recovering from a long night of partying and do not have the strength to leave the hotel. I am now a die hard Lawson fan. The hotel and Lawson staff also speak English if you're not quite fluent in Japanese yet. Please do your research before coming to this hotel or any hotel in Japan. I did overhear guests being rude to staff over the check-in and check-out times as well as the fees associated with checking out late. All of this information is available on this page and easy to find. If you do show up early, you can ask the staff to hold onto your luggage until it is time to check-in. If you are checking out and have quite a bit of time before you have to leave to your next destination, you can also ask the staff to hold onto your luggage while you do some last minute exploring or shopping. I will be returning to this hotel again.

I arrived and the Computer system could not find my booking that I had made month prior. When it was resolved I finally got to my room and it was filthy. Surfaces were dusty and had debris from other guests. Provided chair had human bodily fluid stain on seat. Bed was improperly made with bare mattress exposed at the head of the bed. There was mould on the backboard of the bed. There was mould on the blackout curtain. I requested a Humidfier via the hotel app rental system, request was “approved” but the humidifier never arrived to my room nor did the staff know about it when I went to the reception to enquire. Overall a very uncomfortable experience. But the staff were very warm and welcoming.

J'ai aimé le coté sympathique des employés. J'ai moins aimé qu'il n'y ait pas de placard (valise ouverte sous le lit, car pas de place). La fenêtre ne souvre pas, meme de quelques centimètres. On est veue changer mes draps alors que je partais le lendemain sans que je l'ai sollicité (ils changent les draps tous les 3 jours).

Der var meget lidt personalekontakt, da indcheckning er på maskiner. Den smule personalkontakt jeg havde, var udmærket. De var venlige. Værelset var fint, men det er småt. Det skal primært være et sted til søvn og hvile, og ikke et sted, man opholder sig. Hotellet synes at give udtryk for at være mere luksuøst, end det er. Der er ikke rengøring af værelset hver dag, hvilket faktisk er helt fint. I stedet bliver der hængt en pose ved døren med friske håndklæder med mere. Jeg forstår bare ikke, at man ikke kan fravælge det, da jeg i mit tilfælde sagtens kan tørre og genbruge håndklædet nogle dage. En ting der absolut ikke fungerer på det her hotel, er elevatorerne. De todelt forstået på den måde, at elevatorerne i den ene side kører til de højre etage, og dem i den anden kører til de mellem. Den del er fin nok. Der er sikkert også en slags ingeniør, der har regnet på den bedste køremodel, men de modeller skal genbesøges. Det er særligt slemt om morgenen, når folk er på vej op og ned til morgenmad, eller på vej ud i byen. På samme måde er det slemt om eftermiddagen, når der er check-in-rykind. Ventetiden er alt alt for lang, og man må ofte stå over, da elevatoren, når den endelig kommer, er fyldt op. Det var et kæmpe irritationspunkt. Jeg vil anbefale hotellet, men ikke bo der igen.

An affordable small room for a solo traveller like myself is all that I need. I just have one issue with the top floor room that I booked... because air con is centralized, I have no control over how hot and humid it was in that room. On top of that, apparently the window on the 30th floor was not allowed to be opened.. due to safety I guess? It just made my hot room feel even more sticky and stuffy. The view on the 30th floor is stunning, and I took many pictures and recordings, but if I were to stay here again, then I would not pay premium for a penthouse floor. 3.5 stars out of 5

The rooms are as you would expect in an APA, only downside was that there is no individual control over room temperature, and the rooms get so hot without respite. We had to put our bag in the doorway to keep the cool air from the hallway coming through.

Very comfortable stay. My family and I enjoyed the room very much. I love the pajama and all the items they have in the room. I love the deodorizing spray by A2Care, I wish I purchased some to take home but didn't have time. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Will stay at APA Hotel Ryogoku Station Tower again.

We really liked this location in the “sumo” neighbourhood. Close to train stations and easy access to tourist attractions. Lots of restaurants close by. The customer service could improve, we stayed for 6 nights and our room was serviced once. Also, only way you’re getting an early check-in or late checkout is by paying ¥2000 per hour. So check-in and checkout time are really busy.. The hotel is nice. There is a common area on the second floor as well as a Lawson’s. Opt for a twin corner room if you can, the rooms we clean, comfortable, and modern, we would stay here again.

Good place and good service for most. I would give a full five but got really disappointed when they refused to receive a package. After 1 h and 30 minutes of conferencing between the delivery driver and lobby staff they agreed. They could handled it better. The elevators are a nightmare sometimes. Take a while to get up or down because of many people use it the wrong way.

First the good - great location. Lot's of amenities. Breezy check-out. Now the negatives - won't let you check in until 3 unless you pay an extra charge. Check-in is not personable through a passport reading machine - like an assembly line; No room safe in a very small room; Wanted to have a drink at the rooftop bar and was told that entrance that night was by "Invitation only"

Location great, close to train station but away from the bustle of Tokyo. Onsen a great way to start the day or relax after a busy day exploring Tokyo. I was quite happy with this choice of hotel as a first time visitor. The only downside is the location. Everything is about a 40 minute train ride. The positives- clean. Room has just what you need. As a solo traveler I was pleasantly surprised the bed was spacious. The public bath/onsen in the hotel was just what the doctor ordered after the amount of walking each day. (You have to be able to cover your tattoo(s). Lawson convenient store is 24 hours and inside the hotel. Many food options in walking distance. Located right next to the Ryogoku train station

Vi boede her i 4 dage og havde en rigtig god oplevelse. Hotellet ligger super praktisk tæt på Ryogoku Station, hvilket gør transporten rundt i Tokyo nem og bekvem. Området omkring hotellet er hyggeligt med mange spisesteder, små butikker og caféer – perfekt til at udforske lokalt. Selve hotellet er moderne med automatisk check-in, hvilket gør ankomsten hurtig og problemfri. Vi satte stor pris på faciliteterne: restaurant, vaskerum og en lille butik på stedet, som gør opholdet ekstra bekvemt. Morgenmadsbuffeten er varieret med både vestlige og japanske retter, men husk at bestille på forhånd. Det eneste minus var, at temperaturen på værelset var lidt varm om natten, da airconditionen er centralt styret og ikke kan justeres manuelt. Vi løste det ved at lade døren stå åben for frisk luft. Det er dog en mindre detalje i forhold til den samlede oplevelse. Alt i alt kan vi klart anbefale Apa Hotel & Resort Ryogoku Eki Tower som en base for flere dages ophold i Tokyo – især hvis du ønsker nem adgang til transport og et område med masser af muligheder.

What a brilliant hotel! The check in was smooth due to using a kiosk and presenting your passport or reference number and there were several kiosks with attendance if needed. The room was small but cute and I could use the spa on a daily basis if needed after all the walking, with information on the tv if it was vacant. The breakfast was sooo good with cereals, eggs, bacon and sausages but also rice, soups, dumplings etc. A variety of foods. A microwave and laundry were in the basement in case you decided to visit the many convenience stores for a dim sum soup! There was a trouser press, daily coffee and water and it has subway and train stations 5 mins away. The only negative was I had a dinner at the hotel one evening which was not upto scratch considering how much I paid for it (3200 yen) and was a buffet with not much choice. All in all, I will definitely come back to this hotel and would definitely recommend to my family and friends.

The hotel is clean and modern, with great views, and with a good shop always open for guests on the 2nd floor. The breakfast is really excellent, with a fantastic variety of choices available. But the reception area is too small, and the mechanized check in for customers is reminiscent of the aiport -- difficult to use, and its (AI translated) questions hard to answer. The elevators are too few, for a hotel this size (30 floors), with this many guests. (There are no stairs one can use as an alternative.) That is a major drawback. Poor organization also causes long lines for breakfast tables.

The hotel is very cozy, the room is clean, albeit small. The maid changes robes and towels daily. Breakfast is an extra charge of about $20, but it's very convenient, inexpensive, and you don't have to look for somewhere to have breakfast in the morning. The restaurant is open from 6:30 a.m. I highly recommend it.

Great hotel. Checkin is completely automated, which made me a little uncomfortable. However, I realize it has to be that way due to the number of rooms in the hotel. It all worked out fine. Rooms are very small, but also makes it affordable. We had everything we needed and the rooms are super efficient. Breakfast was over-priced and didn't really have American selections. It is better to grab a coffee and toast at a local cafe. The hotel is convenient to the train and subway. I would stay there again.

El hotel está muy bien situado cerca de la estación de metro y del embarcadero de donde salen los cruceros nocturnos los fines de semana. Las habitaciones que nos tocaron eran pequeñas, en una de ellas no había ni siquiera armario y el baño más pequeño todavía. Nos tocó en el piso 30 con lo cual teníamos unas vistas impresionantes.
