The room exceeded our expectations. Prior to our arrival, we stayed at another hotel in Akureyri for two nights, then decided to stay one more night, but the other hotel had no available rooms and a worker there suggested Hotel Halond. As soon as we walked in, both my husband and I wished we found this place for all three nights because it is very spacious, clean, has a refrigerator, and a smart tv which the other hotel did not have. They also have a microwave in the common area which can be used. The only problem we had is since we booked through Expedia, I never received an email in my inbox OR available with my room and 4 digit code. I did have to turn on my phone data plan to call the hotel and someone immediately answered and gave me this information within 3 minutes. If they can figure out this one caveat, that would be amazing because I did read other reviews where this happened to them. So it must be a problem when booking through a 3rd party site. Other than this, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone as long as you are OK with a self service establishment that does not have many amenities or a restaurant.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft mit viel Platz. Man bekommt zwei Tage vorher einen Code zugeschickt um die Türen zu öffnen - also sehr unkompliziert. Was uns nicht gefallen hat, ist dass die Hot Tubs direkt neben der Eingangstür des Wohnblock standen.

Stayed here during Honeymoon, wife and myself LOVED the property! Keyless entry was such a nice touch, the downstairs lockers were/are a huge bonus for possible mountain bikers or ski/snowboarders and the rooms were sized right for our needs. Will stay here again when we Return to Akureyri!

Stayed overnight at Hotel Halond. The outside of the property is not very impressive, but the room was nice, with ample space. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast buffet had limited items, but there was enough variety to choose from. It was a totally contactless experience. We were provided with the door codes to enter the building and our room. There was ample parking available.

Super modernes Hotel mit geräumigen und schicken Zimmern. Der Self-Check-In mittels Pin klappt einwandfrei. Es gibt ausreichen PKW-Stellplätze in unmittelbarer Nähe des Hotels. Das Hotel ist gut gelegen mit der Nähe zu Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Tankstellen und vielem mehr und liegt trotzdem ruhig. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Definitiv eins der besten Hotels unserer Island-Reise.

The room exceeded our expectations. Prior to our arrival, we stayed at another hotel in Akureyri for two nights, then decided to stay one more night, but the other hotel had no available rooms and a worker there suggested Hotel Halond. As soon as we walked in, both my husband and I wished we found this place for all three nights because it is very spacious, clean, has a refrigerator, and a smart tv which the other hotel did not have. They also have a microwave in the common area which can be used. The only problem we had is since we booked through Expedia, I never received an email in my inbox OR available with my room and 4 digit code. I did have to turn on my phone data plan to call the hotel and someone immediately answered and gave me this information within 3 minutes. everything was pretty great except the building is kept too warm. You can set the room to 18 degees but it wont get below 20 or 21 without opening the balcony

Sehr modern, anscheinend erst kürzlich fertig gestellt, denn hier und da warwn noch ein paar Sachen nicht ganz fertig. Ein weiterer Bau war gerade in Arbeit (06/23), davon hat man aber nichts gehört. Die Zimmer waren sehr schön eingerichtet und gut schallisoliert!

Generally it was good. one of the cleaners was professional, but the new one which join the hotel at 20 May need more training, she open the room door when i was inside, i wait to hear "sorry" but she didn\'t say. The maximum room temperature is 24, this was not suitable for me, because there is no room heater. Thanks

The room exceeded our expectations. Prior to our arrival, we stayed at another hotel in Akureyri for two nights, then decided to stay one more night, but the other hotel had no available rooms and a worker there suggested Hotel Halond. As soon as we walked in, both my husband and I wished we found this place for all three nights because it is very spacious, clean, has a refrigerator, and a smart tv which the other hotel did not have. They also have a microwave in the common area which can be used. The only problem we had is since we booked through Expedia, I never received an email in my inbox OR available with my room and 4 digit code. I did have to turn on my phone data plan to call the hotel and someone immediately answered and gave me this information within 3 minutes. If they can figure out this one caveat, that would be amazing because I did read other reviews where this happened to them. So it must be a problem when booking through a 3rd party site. Other than this, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone as long as you are OK with a self service establishment that does not have many amenities or a restaurant.

Stayed overnight at Hotel Halond. The outside of the property is not very impressive, but the room was nice, with ample space. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast buffet had limited items, but there was enough variety to choose from. It was a totally contactless experience. We were provided with the door codes to enter the building and our room. There was ample parking available.

The only difficulty we had with our stay was checking in. There is no reception at this hotel. It is “self check in.”We received an email where the link to the door codes wouldn’t open. We tried sending an email to the hotel - no reply. We tried telephoning - no answer. Finally, we contacted a guest who was sitting outdoors and she said there was cleaning staff about.
