Car park is very tight with large vans That take more than 1 space in main car park would suggest these vehicles directed to the gravel over spill. 2. Room 321 safe does not work

I have just stayed at the Holiday Inn Manchester for the 3rd time as usual all of the staff were very professional and helpful. On this trip I wanted to use the GYM and specifically chose this Hotel so that I could have a work out, even tho the gym is very small. When I went in to the gym I noticed the exercise bike and cross trainer weren't even plugged in, not only that there wasn't even a power lead to plug in on either! That just left 2x treadmills working. I did mention this to reception when I checked out. My room carpet was so dirty and stained (see photos below) I didn't even want to walk around bare footed. On my previous visits the hotel has always been very clean. I'm not sure if i would stay again?

As always a great place to use as a base for business in the Trafford area. Great location, superb staff and rooms. Disappointed that they have felt the need to charge for parking now. Although not expensive, it was frustrating to see this is now in place.

A modern excellent hotel with decent breakfast. One staff member (Ellis, who was excellent) doing check in at ~2:15pm. A queue of at least 10 groups waiting to check in. He was working ++ to clear the backlog whilst using his personal charm to chat with guests. Room cleanliness excellent apart from crisp packet, Maltesers and empty milk cartons lying on the floor under the beds.

The first room I was given had a nasty smell, a stained pillow and a hair on the pillow that no one wants in their bed!! I was able to move rooms which was fine although really cold and a badly stained carpet! On arrival there were pizza boxes in the corridor and bits of food! The cleaners didn’t come until 5ish on the first day! I had just finished work and wanted to relax so just took some clean towels! Friendly staff though!!!

Noticed when stripping bed leaving the hotel that the mattresses where dirty sell as the mattress protectors so I’m assuming they have not been changed previously before out stay

Really disappointed in our stay. The carpet was heavily stained throughout, the bedsheets and towels were also stained. The bed was barely made, with the mattress protector rolled up under the sheet. There was a layer of dust, grime and drip marks on surfaces and walls and a large wooden coat hook precariously hanging off the wall. Personally I don't believe the room had even been cleaned, but either way it wasn't up to standard so to have a piece of paper in the room declaring their high cleaning standards was even more of a joke. Friendly staff and good location, and modern enough inside, just filthy, so wouldn't recommend. We did complain but simply got an apology!

It’s a pretty modern hotel. The rooms are a bit small, and the pull out sofa bed for our child wasn’t very comfortable. I was particularly unimpressed with the breakfast as they ran out of items before 08:30. Don’t think I’ll be back really.

This was a really nice hotel. Really close to the Trafford Centre (walkable in nice weather) and a tram stop for access to Manchester city centre. Even though it was on a main road it was really quiet inside the hotel. We were impressed with the room being very quiet despite being opposite a lift. The room was clean and very large, which was great. The bathroom was small, but with good facilities. We were impressed with the USB ports on every plug and the helpful lighting. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was good, but the hash browns were pretty disappointingly hard and it was sad that there were no mushrooms (hence not giving 5 stars). But the crockery, cutlery and glasses were all very clean which I was impressed with.

I stayed here for the Manchester marathon weekend as I did last year. A bit noisy overnight, could hear my neighbours coming and going, door slamming, light switches clicking. Not really much you can do but it disturbed a restful night. That being said the hotel is very good, conveniently located with a tram stop close by and the Trafford Centre less than 5 mins walk. Breakfast and convenient parking are also a real positive

Check in was good the room is pretty clean and comfortable. The breakfast services and provision needs a major uplift. Staff with sad gloomy faces. Food options very limited. There was no mushrooms and the hush brown was very suggy. 30 minutes before end of breakfast and they had already run out of food options.

I have stayed here several times for work and always found it consistently good. On this occasion the room I was provided had an issue with the air-con and given the 28-30 degree heat it was a need! When I raised this with reception an alternate room was located without fuss or hesitation. Excellent from Kelsey at the front desk 👏

Good = Great location. Nice breakfast. Restaurant staff very helpful with gluten free options. Bad = Room smelt of cigarettes / illicit substances when the bathroom fan was on in the evening. Shower drain was also blocked with someone else’s hair which meant I had to clean it out as the tray filled up and flooded bathroom floor. A member of the reception staff was sadly v rude when we checked out. Failed to ask how our stay was on check out as he was too busy giving me a lecture about having charged my credit card for parking without anyone highlighting the parking charges when we checked in.

Always have a great stay here. Very helpful staff - Bing, as ever, goes above and beyond. Great location for Trafford centre and for hopping on a tram (not my thing - but appreciate why people would want it). Clearly plenty of eating options around. Good breakfast included.

This was a really nice hotel. Really close to the Trafford Centre (walkable in nice weather) and a tram stop for access to Manchester city centre. Even though it was on a main road it was really quiet inside the hotel. We were impressed with the room being very quiet despite being opposite a lift. The room was clean and very large, which was great. The bathroom was small, but with good facilities. We were impressed with the USB ports on every plug and the helpful lighting. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was good, but the hash browns were pretty disappointingly hard and it was sad that there were no mushrooms (hence not giving 5 stars). But the crockery, cutlery and glasses were all very clean which I was impressed with.

Check in was good the room is pretty clean and comfortable. The breakfast services and provision needs a major uplift. Staff with sad gloomy faces. Food options very limited. There was no mushrooms and the hush brown was very suggy. 30 minutes before end of breakfast and they had already run out of food options.

Breakfast was very basic, could have done with a bit more choice.. eg, some tomatoes and mushrooms to go with the a bacon, sausage and beans, scrambled eggs were on offer but kept running out, so people left with food on plate but needed to wait for eggs thus other food went cold. No fruit left or yoghurt and this was 9am on a Sunday with 1 hour still to go..

For a holiday Inn express it was much better than expected, room was clean, few bits of damage to furniture but overall good condition. Staff on checking in were quick and efficient, good have been a little more attentive to start though as we were ignored until a supervisor highlighted to one member of staff we were waiting. Breakfast was good for an included in the rate breakfast however it is chaotic, it's a buffet style and there's no real system so it's a free for all, they really should implement a queue at one side and work your way along system, you end up with people joining at both ends others randomly pushing into the middle, frustrating to say the least. Overall a good hotel, few bits to polish on but we'd recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap and cheerful stay for a night

This hotel was excellent, only let down by poor breakfast. The coffee machine was either broken or needed refilling . There were no croissants left by 9:00 am . In fact little was available by that time. Also 9:30 is too early closure for breakfast.

I had another good experience at an IHG Holiday Inn Express. Of particular note were the staff at the Manchester Trafford City Holiday Inn who were friendly, professional and very helpful when checking in and out, going the extra mile to ensure I had all the information I required for a pleasant stay. I was offered assistance in ensuring my IHG points were added to my account and check out was a very smooth process. A special thank you to Jordan for his proven ability to problem solve issues to the customer’s satisfaction. I was also able to leave my luggage in safe storage and collect it later on with minimum fuss. The system in place which allows you to choose and book a time slot for breakfast each day was new to me but very logical and easy to use. This prevented overcrowding during a busy weekend where the hotel was full. The choice of food for breakfast was good but some of the cooked food (scrambled eggs and hash browns) were disappointing. My room was excellent with good air conditioning and comfortable beds. The shower was basic but fine. The rooms would benefit from a small fridge to keep water and e.g. fruit chilled in such hot weather plus medication for those who need to travel with it and keep it cold. The hotel is located in quite a remote area with no local shops to buy the basics like bottled water etc so best to bring them with you. There is a McDonalds opppsite and an excellent restaurant next door and it was easy to book an uber for transport.
