A great, cozy room close to all the action of St. Augustine's historic downtown area. The chef's level of service and made to order breakfast was amazing! If you don't do well with stairs, this may be a no go for you, otherwise it is a great place stay.

First off, Mark was very nice and helpful. He probably was the best part of this trip. Turns out the property is under-going renovations. Would have been nice to know about when booking this location. The whole bottom floor (which was where our room was, and it was the only one of that floor) was completely under renovation. Couldn’t even use access to the back door due to this and didn’t have a battery in the front door to lock for safety. Other things that weren’t mentioned regarding this renovation, were that there is no breakfast at this location, had to travel about 6-8 blocks to the property owners other location for your breakfast experience. Where the other rooms were located on the second floor looked nicely done, and up there was at least coffee and an ice machine if needed. Our room did have a fridge which was nice. Outlet in bathroom didn’t work. The pictures online are nowhere near what this property looked like. Met other guests who were looking forward to the same expectations we had and agreed it wasn’t as advertised.

Of course it’s always only the best pictures of the rooms are shown. The location is fantastic. It is only a block or two away from all the restaurants and stores. So it’s an easy walk. Parking is probably about three blocks away so it’s not right at the property. The room was clean that we had. It had a queen size bed, a small bench, mini refrigerator and a bathroom with a jetted tub but the tub definitely was only a one person tub. I don’t remember anywhere in the description that we would have to climb 16 steps up to our room.. No one with a handicap would really be able to climb the stairs or get in the tub that had a very high side. The breakfast that was served was fantastic and it was really the best part of the hotel experience there. I believe the owner is doing a lot more work on it. If you’re looking for simplicity, this would be it. The balcony that we had was actually an upstairs porch. It was not a private balcony.
