La Quinta by Wyndham Dallas Plano - The Colony

This was a comfortable property that met my needs well. I was aware of a broken/missing railing inside an elevator and some stains on the carpeting in the same elevator. Most of the property looked well-maintained, though. The lobby was unattended at night. There is no restaurant, but they do offer a generous complimentary breakfast.

Front desk staff/man was very friendly & responsive. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was fine. Coffee was so-so but about usual for a hotel. It was perfectly fine for our one night stay, but I will note the shared prkg lot with Tx Roadhouse was pretty crowded.

There was poop on the side of the pool and my children couldnt swim and were deeply disappointed 😔 We attempted a staycation and it was ruined.

The property does not have a spa / hot tub as advertised on the hotels.com website.

The parking lot is so full on Friday and Saturday because the hotel and a restaurants share a parking lot and the hotel does not have any make for just the hotel The towels were clean but were stained. One of the elevator was out and it was fine until Saturday it was so busy

Water pressure was extremely low, tv remote did not work and was disgusting, hot tub has been filled in with concrete and the pictures are not current. Would not stay here again.

I chose this property because a hot tub is listed as an amenity, there is no hot tub.

Maybe my worst hotel experience with my kids. #1 pool was the grossest I've ever seen at a hotel. That was disgusting and even my kids refused to swim in it. The electric charger for vehicles was cool but non electric vehicles parked there and no one knew of the charger actually worked. My smoke detector beeped when we were about to go to bed. The response was "take it off the wall". When that didn't work they brought me a battery and had me put it back on the wall.... They put the battery in wrong so I had to take it off again and fix it. Won't be back to this location ever. Even if the price is good. Not worth it.

Nice and clean. Disappointed the pool was closed but other than that nice clean safe place.

I had a great time with my family. Of course it was great. I would visit again. The only negative part was one elevator wasn’t working. There was not a plate in the microwave and there was leftover trash behind the microwave where someone must’ve left behind. Husband said not enough towels and pillows. Oh they didn’t have a scale in the gym and a microwave for the breakfast area cause I need to make the oatmeal.

Rooms were not the cleaniest. Smells of Weed. Dogs barking all night and front desk would not help to quiet the dogs

The room immediately smelled of pee when we walked in. We saw dogs all over the property so apparently this is a pet friendly hotel, but rooms should be properly cleaned and deodorized. A few hours into our stay, the overwhelming smell of marijuana filled the entire room and seemed to be coming from the vents. I was with my daughter and this was not acceptable. When approaching the front desk about this problem, they were dismissive and told us they couldn’t do anything about it and they had no rooms to move us to.

Semi clean room. Coffee pot had grounds left in it. The room smelled good.

Stayed for 4 nights very poor internet service outside very noisy nothing really nice to say just a regular hotel

Hotel was without hot water one evening I came back from work, was told it wasn’t an emergency so the maintenance guys wouldn’t come in to look at it until the next day. Had to take a towel “shower” with hot water out of the coffee pot to remove the grease from myself for the day. No compensation given. Room 412 top door hinge was pulled out of door so the door didn’t like to shut, shower stall door leaked onto bathroom floor when showering and toilet seat would not stay up on its own…. You had to hold it up when using the restroom. Bathroom sink water pressure was non existent, probably just a clogged aerator. On the positive side rooms were clean, breakfast wasn’t bad, parking area stayed clean and the daily cleaning staff did a great job in the rooms.

Front desk staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Beds were very comfortable. The front lobby was comfortable and breakfast was good. The drain didn't work in the bathroom tub, a few tiles were cracked and the toilet was low. Overall great stay a few minor improvements.

The hotel location was good and it was generally clean. The breakfast was a bit limited with little fresh fruit. The main issue was the guest noise level. Many guests had high volume tvs and above us guests were partying past 3am.

The walls were paper thin. I could hear the people in the room next to us snoring (literally). To add to that, there was a room on the same floor of us that had a man screaming & slamming their hotel room door ALL NIGHT. The staff did nothing other than ‘check it out’.

The only thing that went wrong was the refrigerator in my room died

Our room was comfortable including the bed. The bathroom was a little more negative. We're elderly and appreciated having a room with a walk in shower but it got a little scary because of the possibility of falling. The shower floor got real slippery. The biggest negative was the toilet. It sat really low to the floor which made getting up down difficult

Clean hotel in good location. Comfortable beds. Only bummer was that we booked a king room, and they were sold out when we arrived. The double room was comfortable, but would have liked the King room we booked.

Cornell was awesome! He was very friendly and personable. He was working when we checked in and when we checked out. He took care of our one request promptly, which was the need for more towels. Would absolutely stay here again!

When arriving I was asked for a deposit for the room even after I told them I was a member for more then 20 years Then the next morning I spoke with the clerk and deposit was being refunded right then! It’s 4 working days later and nothing

Staff are very helpful

We travel to visit our son in the area. We have truly enjoyed staying here the past couple of trips. Cornell checked us in both times and has been nothing but amazing! Our rooms are clean and cozy! We feel safe in the area. Thank you Cornell for all that you do!! We hope to see you soon!

The front desk when we check in isn’t that usual feint person who greets you and tell you about breakfast example I asked. But the lady the next day was very nice tho. Very clean hotel, easy to find.

Loved the location, Cornell at the front desk was excellent. Loved The restaurant being very close .

Really happy with our stay. Super close to everything in The Colony. Went for a concert at Lava Cantina and super close to Uber. Staff was very helpful when I misplaced my key and checkin was super fast. Rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. Also 2 restaurants within walking distance.

Perfect location to access local amenities. Will definitely come back for future stays!

I literally walked out of the hotel door and into the doors of a restaurant. Very convenient.

Well, our stay here was good until the last night. We got robbed. Someone stole the catalytic converter off of our truck. Police said that area was bad around there for that. They should provide security for the parking lot

Lovely, modernized hotel in a great location. Many restaurants, convenience stores and Walmart very close by. Also located in a nice quiet neighborhood.

Clean hotel in good location. Comfortable beds. Only bummer was that we booked a king room, and they were sold out when we arrived. The double room was comfortable, but would have liked the King room we booked.

The property was hard to find, staff was rude. They wouldn't let me charge things to my room. They didn't make enough food. They had a party of 25 teenagers and they went back for seconds and thirds. I watched them. The hotel was refilling things or they didn't from the beginning for all the people staying there. They had a horrible breakfast , eggs were watery and the potatoes were cooked. They also didn't offer anything to drink not even water. The juice machine under maintenance. The water to buy was $3 dollars a bottle. The prices were ridiculous, there was no where safe to go buy one without getting in your car. The room had stains on the drapes. I got at least 5 bites on my body staying there, that I didn't have before. LaQuinta hotels in the Dallas area are trashy and I will be turning these last 4 hotels into the better business bureau for all 4 locations. It's false advertising at each one I have been to. Saying ya'll have things then they don't. Oh and it was a nightmare to get anything cleaned and appointments early each day. I just wanted to do it when I got back. They said no. I don't want people in the room do to the things we brought and it was a super sketchy area. I didn't even know that. The hotel 6 , LaQuinta and The Embassy Suites were in the same circle. I saw men from across the way at Motel 6, sketchy looking people. I will never stay at one again. I have had nothing but problems at the 4 I have tried to stay at since working in this area.

Updated clean hotel. Staff was very friendly. We stayed 2 nights. Staff left less towels for 2nd day than was there when we arrived. Breakfast was very basic continental. Not many choices.

Hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. My only problem was the breakfast. I have stayed at other La Quinta's and they have milk and cereal as well as oranges and bananas. But this one did not.

You get what you pay for. Decent room. Comfortable bed. Quiet. Cheap plastic utensils and flimsy plates for breakfast The Texas waffle was really good.

I appreciate the easy access on and off of 121. Lots of options to eat around the area having Texas Roadhouse and Bubba's 33 right there in waking distance. Pet friendly and affordable and offering 2 different options of late checkout, at a price. Lol. Staff is great and always a pleasure to help. Breakfast is delicious as well. Always a top choice of mine to stay here if in the area whether for work or pleasure.
