I have stayed at this hotel maybe 5-6 times in the last several years. Walkable to the Mishler Theatre, only 2 blocks away! VERY VERY clean, and that is #1 for me. Unlike most hotels, it actually has a nice hip little bar. Modern and upscale decor in all the public areas; and the comfy bed/bedding was just perfect. Lots of pillows, lots of towels, all shower toiletries provided. I was not crazy about having to pay $25 for early check-in, but they waived it as I am sort of a regular, and it was only a half hour earlier. In the evening I had a bit of a scratchy throat, and the front desk located some salt for me to gargle with, and looked for honey also; very nice about accommodating me with these requests. Parking is great. Both in front or back, there is an entry to the hotel right there (a room card is required at the back door), and it is well-lighted. Super clean, super safe, super close to the theater, even closer to Tom &Joe’s Diner, where you can get amazing breakfasts and sandwiches (locals love it), and not far at all from a few delicious Italian restaurants. I highly recommend the Wingate! Will definitely go back.

This was my favorite hotel that we stayed in during our 21 day vacation. The staff is super friendly, happy to help with anything. Place is like new. Everything is clean and tidy. Rooms are super clean. Breakfast is eggs sausage waffles muffins yogurt juice coffee Loved this place. Definitely book here

Room was nice. Check in was easy. No soundproofing whatsoever though. Could hear elevator ding 5 doors away. Not quiet at all. Party across the hall at 3am was super loud because nothing blocked sound. Had to call front desk to stop it.

Thermostats are almost useless. Lowest temp is 66, and ours stayed above 66 although 66 was selected as we like to sleep cooler. . The fan was set to auto even though we had it set to low and high, neither worked. The floors are super thin, someone above us was running back and forth at 4:30 am every morning.

Staff was accommodating and responsive to requests. Mattress was comfortable, HVAC unit was relatively quiet and temperature was easily adjusted comfortable. Breakfast was a bit less offerings than typical hotel. Train tracks are close enough to hear the trains at night, traffic road noise in the morning. Downtown, not a lot of restaurant choices in walking distance. Rescue mission is nearby and some folks in area that are in sad circumstances, but did not feel dangerous.

We have difficulty to check-in my two rooms. It is because my booking from hotel.com is not match with the hotel record. I have booked and paid for two rooms for 6 people, however, the hotel staff of front desk who are Tiffany & Nas told me that hotel.com only make one room booking for me. Then, I show them my print out booking information to prove them the total number of room is two rooms, but not one room. So, they provide a solution to us which is to have a new booking for 1-room and pay by myself with same price rate according to the existing booking from hotel.com and then I will need to contact hotel.com to file a claim for 1-room refund due to this missing room booking from hotel.com. I have accepted this solution. With the proof of our 2-room booking’s confirmation, they help me to report this error to hotel.com. This is my 1st time bad experience with hotel.com for missing 1-room booking and make us nervous & worry about no room to stay. Luckily the hotel staff Tiffany & Nas are very kind to help us.

We arrived at the property around 11pm to check-in and had to wait 15 minutes before anyone even showed up at the front desk. Based on the conversation of the two women they were in the bathroom working on a laptop because one of them mentioned that she left the laptop in the bathroom. Not a great start to our stay.

we like this property because it is close to where our family lives and it is reasonably priced....rooms are clean, and the staff was friendly, breakfast is good, only bad thing I can say is there was some noise outside that kept me awake, motorcycle noise and the train whistle at 2 am but that is not something the hotel can do anything about except maybe better sound proof windows!

The women at the front desk were friendly and polite upon deck in. When I found my room, I noticed a pencil on the chair which immediately made me wonder how well the room had been cleaned. The sheets had a few dark stains on them and there was a crack in the shower basin. Tried the breakfast, it was ok. The juices were all watered down and gross, and there was no non-dairy option for coffee.
