Motel 6 Shepherdsville, KY – Louisville South

I use this hotel as they don't charge for pets. Lobby has a heavy chemical smell. Bathrooms, specifically showers, are pretty gross. Convenient to everything. Lack luster but they'll keep the light on.

Room was very clean. Property is just next to the highway exit. Room has microwave and Mini fridge. Coffee is only available 24*7 at the reception. Its value for money package. There plenty of shops and food joints around within walk able distance. There's a gas station just beside the motel.

It was dirty also no parking because 18 wheelers was parked the long way thur all the parking spots it was groups drinking beers loudly outside the windows until 2am and the guy next door had a dog that wouldn’t stop barking worst hotel experience ever

Not great! I guess you get what you pay for in this reservation. I wondered why the price was cheaper than most. But when I checked in I found out why. Not very clean, half lights didn’t work, no overhead lighting, etc. No breakfast or coffee on check out. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

I was able to have my dogs. Without a huge deposit. The clerk that checked us in was amazing. It was clean. Love it didn't have panhandle hanging around.

The staff was friendly and able to accommodate my parking needs.

Old renovated Motel. No pool, no breakfast, poor air conditioning. Supposed to be smoke free but both rooms had residual of smoke and two ashtrays in both of them.

The rooms are very basic, but clean, the building and surroundings felt very safe, and the rooms are pretty nice for the price. The staff was friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the free coffee in the morning! They need to pay a little more attention to some minor maintenence issues such as light fixtures not working and bathroom doors not locking, but were very receptive when i pointed them out. My first stay was on a trip from Ohio to Tennessee, and I enjoyed my stay so much that i stayed again on the return trip as well as again on a trip a month later. What you get for the price it totally worth it!

Easy fast check-in; room as advertised. The most amazing water pressure for the shower! Be aware that there is no coffee (not even at the front desk), but the fridge and the microwave were spotless. A bargain; we would stay again

I like the place for parking and safety as well as the the location is a business area so very close to dinning options. I think the house AC/heater could jave been better and the coffee they provide is terrible even though they give it for free.

There were roaches in the bathroom. The towels were stained. There was pubic hair in the bathtub, the corners of the floors looked like all the dirt was swept into the corners. Housekeeping came and knocked twice before checkout and they called from the front desk to remind of checkout. The smell of marijuana was overwhelming.

Dirt caked up underneath the bed. Bathtub had so much hair stuck in the drain that it was completely clogged and backed up. When house keeping came i was in the phone with important phone call so when i came to find them and ask for new sheets and towels i was given complete attitude and was told she had already done my floor and was not coming back. When i went to the front desk the GM came and was also rude and argumentative over me not answer my door. Then they sent the house keepers to my room and when i asnwered the door the guy house keeper rolled his eyes at me and had a look of disgust like how dare i ask for new clean stuff after they jad already knocked on my door.

There's mold EVERYWHERE. The bathroom, toilet, sink, walls. It reeks of smoke and mold. Terrible staff on top of that. Your better off staying in your car or a tent. I wish I could give 0 stars.

The floor had water seeping up around the floor covering and the entire room smelled of mold and urine. The restroom door would not latch because part of the door was missing. The toilet seat had splintered. And the refrigerator had molded food in it. The staff was rude , when I told the front desk person that the room was not habitable he said ther were other places to stay. My husband an I spent the next 2 nights of our trip sleeping in our car in walmart's parking lot. It was much nicer than Motel 6.

With the low price, I don't expect the newest rooms or the greatest amenities - those aren't what I was looking for. However, I do expect a clean room, and this didn't meet the standard. The bathroom was the main issue, with a dirty wipe and thick dust left on the main room light, a very dirty upper ledge of the shower with chewing gum left behind from another guest, a cracked toilet that has been leaking so long it's been leaving calcium deposits and slime, dirty floors, mildew on the shower caulking, and cracks in the bathtub. Additionally, the curtain in the room did not sufficiently block out all the morning light. And if you opened it to allow some light in, there were no sheer privacy curtains, so anyone in the other rooms could look in. I would not stay here again.

Lots of mold in the bathroom areas, and under the beds had not been cleaned in a long time. Wear and tear that has not been updated in years. Shower leaked through the cheap shower curtain and got the entire bathroom floor wet.

Clean comfortable room at a good rate. Ideal for an overnight stop along I-65.

*Will update once refund is given* - In the bathroom there was several cockroaches. Thoroughly creeping us out and worried about other infestations checked the bed, mattress & what we seen immediately made us abruptly & without hesitation to leave the room, alert the front desk & check out. We requested a refund immediately as with the bugs, infestation & such in consideration of also having a serious allergy to the bugs I feel like if ever there was a reason for a refund, even in a no refund policy situation, that instances like this where a health inspector could be requested etc. that the property would have no cause to deny the request, especially since no one should be subjected to such conditions, nor be told that even though I didn’t stay that the refund wasn’t processed & approved upon discovery. Especially, since now after inquiry in our own circles that apparently we aren’t the only ones it’s been reported by, a pattern of advisement from several local residents to the hotel management, yet the issue persists and now I don’t even know if I’ll get my deserved & owed refund as surely the money paid can’t legally just be kept, can it? The hotel clerk at the desk advised since we used Expedia to book & pay that Expedia would need to be the one to cancel the booking and ultimately refund the money paid, especially since the amenities section nor the disclaimer alike neither mention the infestations & potential danger to those who have severe or serious

curtains were discolored, TV was covered in dust, so was the refrigerator. The refrigerator also smelled terrible when I opened it. towels also had stains on it.

The water was rusty/dirty so we did not shower. there were live cockroaches - if you can see them , you know there is easily an infestation. I did see other reviews on cockroaches , so I am not understanding why they would not do a full scale extermination.

It was a good hotel but my star rating is because the air conditioning didn’t work and the toilet didn’t flush. But office staff was fantastic!

Electric plug in bathroom did not work. Seems they are updating property. They need to update electrical also. New lighting, but they were using electric strip for power. Also using a extra outlet plug to run t.v., microwave and mini fridge for 1 outlet. Being a firefighter I realize the potential danger

Light out side of windows was right there needed blinds on windows to keep out some of the lights it was ok to stay for 1 night

The hotel is right next to I65. The road noise is terrible in the rooms facing the highway. The room was very clean but the soapy smell in the room was horrible. On the bright side, the bed was was comfortable and the WiFi was great. If you stay there get an inside room. It will be much quieter.

Better than anticipated. Clean, quiet and everything worked well:TV, a/c, shower, wi-fi. Towels are a bit scratchy and pillows are insufficient but other than that, I was satisfied.

Everything was fine. Everything you need for just a night or 2 but the bath tub filled up with water when we showered, I don’t think they clean the showers. Also part of the tub was cracked and rotting out. Room lighting was awful as well. There were just 2 bed side lights and the bathroom light. Right off i75 though and many restaurants you could walk to.

Room was a good size and convenient for traveling wherever needed. Could have used more comfortable seating

The electrical wires were exposed in the bathroom which is a huge safety concern. The floors were warped and peeling. Dirty surfaces. Bathtub was peeling. Brought this up to the staff and they didn’t say anything about it, or even offer to switch us to a different room.

While my hallway smells of smoke, the room I'm in is clean and large. Lots of TV channels.

this hotel has BED BUGS! we saw them as soon as we got in the room and immediately checked out. The front desk clerk was SLEEPING at the desk. We had to scream multiple times to wake him. When we informed him we’re leaving due to bed bugs he just said “yeah that happens, want another room?” When we obviously declined he said “ok my manager will give you a refund” but the manager refuses because it’s “against policy” lol I’d think having BED BUGS would be against hotel policy. This place is disgusting and the owner should be ashamed.

No luggage carts except at the front check in counter. I was behind the building had to carry, unlock hotel entry then room to door too much. Also the lighting in the actual bed room part was horrible it was just track tiny lining the only real light was bathroom and entrance where nothing is but a coat hanger. The room looked clean but my feet were filthy black so they must have been very dirty. Check out was 11 I had a late check in at 930 I think and asked if I could have til 12 he said no. I asked if I could pay for 1/2 hour or any extra time because I couldn’t sleep well he said no. I packed. And rested dress ready to go but laid down and waited and 5 minutes til 11 the desk calls and says it’s 5 minutes to 11 and you are supposed to have checked out by 11 and you are still there. I was half asleep and confused who I even was talking to he said they have been outside waiting to clean and your still there and it’s 5 minutes til. Slid my flip flops on grabbed bag and dropped off the key. But if I had til 11 why was he being so rude about 5 mins before 11 and they had been waiting to clean my room. Too bad! Every hotel works with you on late check out especially if you are willing to pay. If not that’s one not worth staying at again:

Great staff clean room

Check-In was super slow and could not hardly understand anything the lady was saying. Room looked somewhat ok curtains was very dirty and should not be hanging up in any of the rooms. The towels provided need to be tossed in the trash suppose to be white but look cream/tan colored. Plugs on one side of bed did not work. Plug in bathroom did not work. I would not recommend this place in any way shape or form. I will not be returning or using any Motel 6 again.

We always stay here while working in town. Staff and management are always great and take care of us. Rooms are always clean and neat. Close to all kinds of restaurants. Many within walking distance. Great stay everytime

I was rather amazed at the upgrades made at Motel 6 in the past few years. Prior to this year i would not stay at a Motel 6. They were unkept and service was poor. Great turn around. I would definitely recommend this hotel to overnight guests. Conveniently located off the freeway, near food stops, and gas stations.

Great place to stay for my needs. Close to interstate and many restaurants and gas stations. Good idea when the basics are that’s required.
