Swansea Hotel

Good parking area with easy access. The room was simple, clean and met my requirements. The common area was clean and supplied what was needed for an overnight stay.

The hotel was having major renovations so there was a lot of disruptions. My room was clean, bathroom, water pressure, hot water, a/c & TV reception all top class. The shared kitchen, bathrooms & lounge areas in the accommodation section need work, but I think that will be part of the overall renos. Had a very nice & affordable meal in the bistro & the staff were very friendly & helpful. Overall I recommend staying & will return when the renos are completed.

For the price this is adequate accommodation although you should definitely pay extra for an ensuite like I did. The communal bathroom is not a place of either high hygiene or safety standards. The room was sufficient and quite large however I’m assuming due to the rough nature of the majority of clientele it means there isn’t a lick of furniture aside from the bed, and all towel rails have been broken. Shower was wonderfully hot but weak pressure, and they really need to clean the drainage grate after each client! The music from downstairs wasn’t too loud, and there were live bands playing. Although I’m sure different rooms have different acoustics. Surplus of parking in the back and within 200 meter radius there is an Coles, McDonald’s, take outs, cafes, bank and pharmacy.

The band played until 3am in the morning, great musicians but did keep us awake... If we weren't planning to drive all day after our stay we probably would have participated at the bar...

Unfortunately we did not have a great stay at Swansea Hotel.. When we first arrived the staff at the bar were helpful and kind but this was the only upside of the night. We booked this hotel as we were heading to a concert for the night, when we returned all of the doors were locked (no one had advised the keys we were given would not open the doors after a certain time). Thankfully we were able to get the attention of a security guard who opened the door for us. In the morning we saw the state of the room, which was not pleasant. The floors looked like they had not been vacuumed in months and the ensuite bathroom was unusable (black mold growning in the corners of the shower, no drain cover in the sink). The only thing that looks clean was the sheets on the bed. As we were finishing our pack up we received a knock at the door at 10:05am (check out was 10am, 5 mins late), a lady (who we assume is the manager) rudely asked if we were leaving yet and proceeded to tell us the time. I will not be staying here again, and feel that you would find better facilities at a camp ground.

Parking is only available at back of Hotel which is not accessible before 10am and after 10pm on Sunday nights. It is a fair distance to walk around the back of hotel to car if downstairs is closed to back car park. Bad weather would also be challenging in this instance. Also two flights of stairs to rooms might be challenging to people with mobility issues. Loud music till around midnight downstairs on Friday and Saturday nights can clearly be heard upstairs in Room 11.

This room was lovely with a huge bathroom with a separate toilet. It was a pleasant surprise. It was my first time staying above a pub and it was not too noisy. I would not recommend it if travelling with kids as there were some interesting people wandering around the hallways in the morning but great for adults. The room was very clean.

Shared bathroom is in very poor conditions, unclean and dirty. The bath doesn't look like it has been cleaned for ages. I found the stairs leading up to the rooms quite unsafe, steep, especially for carrying luggage up or down them. Smoking customers on balcony were also noisy and cigarette smoke wafting into my room. Dining in the Hotel, however was lovely. Its a shame upstairs currently does not reflect the lovely modern decor etc as the bar, dining areas.

The room smelt of urine, the air conditioning was leaking, it was noisy, and there was only a single plate in the kitchen.

As we were finishing our pack up we received a knock at the door at 10:05am (check out was 10am, 5 mins late), a lady (who we assume is the manager) rudely asked if we were leaving yet and proceeded to tell us the time. I will not be staying here again, and feel that you would find better facilities at a camp ground.

Great location. Reasonable price for Fri night. Great sized room with ensuite. I prefer a mini fridge in room but a bonus to have access to large shared fridge in accommodation

No room fridge, kettle or microwave. Outside room passage light shone through window above bedroom door making sleep difficult. Noisy traffic as the hotel is on a main road. Easy parking at the back which was a bonus. Restaurant food and drinks were reasonable value for money.

Room was extremely small, designed for a single bed only. i Pulled bed in front of door to get around it. Situated this side of gents shower. What a noise of water pipes. I think it’s a workers pub. The hotel itself for meals, drinks etc and staff is fantastic. Front of house would make you believe the rooms would be decent. Photos do not show a true picture.

The photos of the room I booked did not even closely resemble the room we were allocated, eg size of the room , our bathroom fixtures and our bed was hard up against the wall with only space to walk through to the bathroom so there were no side tables or bedside lamps as per the photos which enticed us to book .

All in all a pleasant stay. Beds were very comfortable and linen was fresh and clean. Great lounge and kitchen facilities/adequate for travelers. Cleanliness relates to state of doors and stairwell - to touch icky. Cannot fault the staff. Unfortunately both our fan and air con weren’t working. We were moved to a similar room with no issues at all. Other comments have noted noises but apart from some light highway noise (our room was on the front) we had a good night sleep. Staff were brilliant. Parking out the back. Arrived to late for dinner but seemed very popular.

Oh God. Where do I start. 2 glasses of wine $23 during happy hour. When I asked, told too late to change anything. Dinner was delicious. Room under construction and worker's on the front verandah at 6am. Parking not private as advertised. Other pubs provide wardrobes and a bar fridge, not here. Add says tea and coffee provided in the kitchen, no, not even a clean glass or cup on offer. Won't be back

Staff were not friendly. Everything seemed to be a problem could not take wine drinks to our room, but could take stubbies, didn't make any sense to us. When leaving in the morning had to climb down very steep chairs at back off building, makes it very hard when my wife was on crutches, had to be very careful. Best part of our stay was our meals which we throughtly enjoyed. Would not recommend this venue to family or friends to book and stay. Differently will not be staying there again

I love staying there. So much quieter and the Beach's not far to go. I had a lovely stay there.

Great Bistro. Accommodation very basic.

Very old buildding with some great features. Huge room and very clean. Ensuit old and out dated. Renovations were underway. Total renovation would be excellent. Restaurant down stairs was excellent. Very good selection.

Beautiful food!

You get what you paid for and all I needed was a bed. So I thought it was perfectly priced and the food in the restaurant downstairs was great.
