Centurion Hotel&Spa Ueno Station

We stayed 4 nights. The hotel is in a great area with lots of dining options, and close to trains and metro. The only issue we had was with drying laundry. I would not do laundry there unless you have a very small load. Despite that, staff was very helpful and accommodating.

We loved the spa! We used it every day to relax after a busy day exploring Tokyo. The spa facility is a real plus!

Check in building is different than the room building, kind of confusing.

The dryer can't dry the clothes despite multiple drying. I was also charged additional $2000yen for 40mins later upon check out.

It's a very convenience location, center of shopping and eating, 5 minutes walk to mainly transportation, the Spa is so good. All the staff is so friendly, and I found that a western staff is serving, English is no problem at all. Will be back again for sure.

Room is small compared to other hotels. The restroom and room design makes moving around seem even smaller. If you plan on doing laundry, it’ll take more than 4 hours to dry 3 jeans and two shirts. It’s 100yen for 20 minutes. Those machines will eat up all your coins. The rooms are not soundproofed and the staff aren’t that inviting. The location itself is 5/5, prime area for food and shopping, train station is a few steps away. Overall would I stay at this hotel again? No. I’ll be choosing another hotel in the area.

Location is close to Ueno station (good). Room is small, bathroom is small. Spa is a plus. We stayed in the annex building, need to cross street to use spa. However, 3.5 star is a bit over rated. I will say it is more like 3 star.

Staff were super friendly and helpful. Free amenities upon arrival. Little anemity kids packs. Great facilities for spa, sauna and bath open 22 hours a day.

If you get the annex building, you have to go across the street to get to the public bath. The bath itself had issues with the lockers being too small and only having 4 places to wash before entering, so there could be waiting times to entere

The room was that clean, we found a baby cockroach one day, almost wanted me to leave. The room is very small, but whatever. All staff are fantastic tho ~

This was not a good experience compared to any other Centurion property or other hotel in Japan that we’ve stayed at. The floor was sticky, the ceiling of the bathroom rained afterwards if you took a shower for more than ten minutes, and the room overall was musty. The bed and pillows were also lumpy. It was located very close to things to do in Ueno, but that was about all it had going for it. There was a man peeing outside the main elevator at one point, which isn’t the fault of the hotel, but characterizes the specific area it’s located in. This is probably a fine hotel if you’re taking your crew out to party and will be too intoxicated to mind any of the aforementioned issues, but don’t subject your family to this.

Great location near Ueno station and Ueno park! So easy to get to from Narita airport via Keisei Skyliner. Lots of shopping and restaurant options close by. Ueno Park was very lovely and a great place to decompress from the bussle of the city. The hotel was very clean. Of course the rooms are compact -- like a cruise ship cabin -- but had everything we needed. The room and fabric deodorizer was a welcome addition! The room is exactly as the picture displayed. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage children. We stayed in a room containing a queen bed and bunk bed. It was tight but the teens felt like they had their own space in their bunks. The spa was well-stocked with towels and beauty products. Such a great way to relax at the end of a long day walking. We will stay here again!

There were dirty bandaids stuck to the wall and the bed was uncomfortable

Excellent location, very near to Ueno train station. Though hotel is old but room is clean and the bed was comfortable. Just that no replacement of towels when put the used one outside room , had to call the front desk for new towels. Other than this all good and happy with the stay in this hotel. Would recommend if you are looking for stay near station. Thank you .

Noise isolation is poor in room which i can hear clearly noise from nearby rooms all night long. Also the room is old, furniture is broken.

There are two buildings on the property and you may have to go across the street to use the spa in the first building. Slightly inconvenient. The second building also shares space with an arcade below so there is noise through the building but it shuts down after 10pm so it didn’t impact any sleep. Customer service was great. Bed was soft and room was clean and quiet overnight.

This was a disappointing stay, thankfully it was short - just one night. It cost £270 (GBP) for a family room - a typical price in Tokyo *but* the room was TINY and quite outdated and tired. It was the width of the length of a double bed - you had to climb over your partner to get out of bed. Floor space was exceptionally limited. The bathroom was tiny - I banged my head on the door handle standing up from the toilet. We had stayed in a family room in another hotel for 4 nights earlier in our trip, it was similar price but worlds apart in size and quality. Can not recommend this hotel - although it was very close to the stations in Ueno for easy access to the Skyliner to Narita. It’s only saving grace really - although the staff seemed lovely,

上野駅近くとゆうことで予約してみましたが、コストパフォーマンスは感じられませんでした。 別棟の不便さもあり、割り切って低価格のビジネスホテルに宿泊した方がよかったかな、と思います。

Family room was tiny. Two bunk beds with thin mattresses and hardly any room to move or put our suitcases.. maybe two feet from the bed to the walls

Room is small, design outdated and questionable hygene for the tatami. Overpriced despite close to train station.

The room that we stayed in was pretty small and wasn't possible to keep our suitcase open without blocking the walk way. The condition of the room was pretty old, the chairs and tables provided had heavy scuffs. The toilet was partially clogged as it made glugging sounds everytime we used the sink and toilet resulting in sewerage smells. The window was facing a concrete wall so there was no natural light or views. Otherwise the staff were nice and helpful

Our room was much more spacious than most of the hotels we stayed at while visiting Tokyo. The location was great. Getting to Ueno Station was a breeze and there was delicious food in every direction.

Friendly staff, clean room, convenient location

one point needs to be shared. I lost a door card, and asked them to re issue one, which they require 3,000 Jpy. I think this the first time re issueing a card key is charged

The staff was very nice, and we were even upgraded to a nicer room at check in! The room was a little awkward in that there was a large step to get into and out of the bathroom and the patio, but it wasn’t a huge deal. Also located in a great and very convenient area, in between two train stations and next to a lot of restaurants and bars. Would recommend!

Great Hotel, in a great location! Very friendly staff!

I stayed here for one night and had a very disappointing experience. First of all, the room condition was completely different from the photos shown online. The room was quite dirty — it looked like the floor hadn’t even been vacuumed. The air conditioner wasn’t working properly, and the room was extremely small for a family with kids and adults. On top of that, we were given a room with bunk beds, which we did not expect or choose. I was so shocked that I went down to the front desk to ask for a room change. However, they told me I had to pay an extra $200. We had already paid nearly $300, so I thought that was unreasonably expensive. I searched online and found a larger room in the same hotel for just about $50 more than the one we were given. I explained this to the staff, but they just said that online prices are “special deals” and that in-person prices are higher. In the end, we had to stay in the small, smelly room with a malfunctioning air conditioner. The service was extremely poor, and we were not offered any help or compensation for the inconvenience. We checked out feeling very frustrated and disappointed. I do not recommend staying here. The photos are misleading, the service is unhelpful, and the overall experience was not worth the price.

All staff are helpful and friendly at this hotel. I noticed I have left a pouch at hotel after check out, customer service helped to ship the item back to me the next day. Location is great, just a few mins walk from Ueon Station. Room size is not big, but they have the Queen Bed option, bed is comfortable. I enjoyed their public spa/bath! Special thanks to Ana, who assisted me on all my queries. I recommend this hotel 👍

Exceptional service is just the cherry on top. My niece lost her wallet (with cash. Drivers license and cards) in a trip to Mt Fuji hosted by a different company. The front desk staff helped without hesitation to call the tour company, locate the wallet, and made the arrangement for its return. Thank you Fujiwara and to the male intern!

The location is amazing! It is very close everything we wanted to see and a big major train station where you can catch and transfer to major train lines.

I choose this hotel due to its convenient location near train station Ueno (ideal for the direct connection to the airport). The hotel is however located on a pretty busy neighborhood, there was a lot going on and it's definitely not a quiet neighborhood. Staff was good and accommodated to our needs.

The location was excellent. 3-minute walk to several lines and lots and lots of shopping, restaurants, and the park. Highly recommend it. The onsen was amazing.

This was a short walk from Ueno station so it was easy to get to our spot. This was our first stay after a 16 hour flight and it was such a calming room. I chose the Japanese style tatami room. In the morning we got up and walked around Ueno park before we had to check out. The area was lovely and full of great dining options.

Property was located just steps from train lines. Centrally located with excellent food options on streets and vendor shopping. Bathrooms were smaller than expected but normal for Tokyo area.

Excellent location in between Ueno and Nakaokachimachi. Highly recommend for a quick stay in the area before heading out into the bustling Ameyoko area or a few beers with friends

Not ideal for staying with your partner or family. The area is next to a gambling place, noisy nightlife, and busy streets. The hotel is also old not in the best condition. I would say ok for someone staying by themselves and only needs a place to sleep after grabbing a few beers.

Centurion hotel was nice. Staff was friendly and location was great as it was close to transportation, dining, and shopping. The area is very walkable and close to Akihabara, ueno park, and asakusa. The rooms are quite small but that is pretty standard for hotels in Tokyo are.

Very convenient location. Subway and train station just the walking distance. Many restaurants and shops nearby. Room and bath are relatively small but that is Japan. Staff are very helpful. No breakfast provided but that is ok since there were a lot of places to eat.

We love this hotel - we used the onsen every night, the location is the best reason to stay there. Plenty of really good restaurants, Uniqlo and GU a block away, train station 5 minutes away, airport train line to NRT also 5 minute walk. We like this location better than Shinjuku. Some of the rooms are tiny but if you splurge for the larger rooms you will have no complaints....well except....we stayed in the larger rooms with aa extra bath in the balcony but the balcony is enclosed with bamboo and there's no view to the outside. It would have been nice to have some opening to "daylight". Never the less, this will be our go to hotel whenever in Tokyo.

The hotel staff were very friendly & accomodating. They treated us well during our stay. The spa was fully included in the price of our stay & it made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. The spa was clean & provided everything from brushes & blowdryers to curling & flat irons. The hotel was located close to the train station, which was convenient. There were tons of restarants & clothing/shoe stores within walking distance. It was very quiet inside the hotel, but very noisy outside from the train & outdoor dining areas. Also, this neighborhood was quite dirty.
