Upon this review, I didn't even think about my VIP perks that the hotel did not acknowledge or receive (at least to my knowledge). However, despite that, I thought this was one of the better hotels I have stayed in within the Melbourne area. The property was clean; the room was large, and the view I had was stunning as it had almost a panoramic view of the mountains in the background (maybe this was a room upgrade I didn't know about). The staff was friendly, and they were able to accommodate an early check-in, so that was very much appreciated. The breakfast room was quaint and comfortable, and the business center was probably one of the best I have seen for any hotel. When you look at the location in the Ringwood area, this is a prime spot to be in. Shopping centers and some of the restaurants did close early, but there were still plenty of things to do in the area.

Good location for Eastern suburbs. Nice bar and friendly staff. Unfortunately we stayed on a Sunday and no dining options available. With the adjacent shopping center closed after 5pm, finding a meal was difficult. No mention of this in communications or we could have organised ourselves better.

Hotel itself incl rooms and staff were excellent. However… Parking is shared with with Eastlands shopping centre with no clearly separated parking that is accesible only to hotel guests. Twice in a 3 night stay i had to spend 10-15 mins finding parking which was toward the opposite end of hotel. There is a parking area marked “SAGE hotel guests only but this ignored by shoppers. The shopping centre Valet has a fenced off section, why isn’t there a section only accessible by paying hote guests requiring parking? Won’t be staying here again purely because of this.

Loved the location re Eastland shopping centre. Disappointed again with 'stench' in carpark entry to hotel. Quite off-putting. Problem was explained and actions being undertaken to rectiify problem - long term and short term. Recommend stronger air fresheners or similar be implememted to mask stench in interim. Current measures are not working well enough.

This hotel is conveniently located within a short walk to Eastland Shopping centre. Parking was only $10 and is very close to the lift. The foyer has a really nice feel with a bar , restaurant and plenty of work spaces. The room was large and offered all of the amenities you need including an iron, hairdryer, coffee machine and tea and coffee. Free wifi and variety of tv channels. We had room service for dinner and arrived 15 minutes after ordering. It was delicious. Breakfast was great and the service was prompt and very friendly with a variety of a la carte options. This was our second stay and we will definitely be back!

The Sage is our go to place to stay we love the location and the actual venue BUT our last 2 visits have been disappointing and disruptive There cleaners are letting this place down Our last 2 visits there has been pubic hair mens shaving clips in the shower around toilet and basin this visit there was washed blood stains on our sheets human hair and pubic hair There receptionist is absolutely lovely and has always tried to accommodate us with room changes etc but it’s not just good enough unfortunately l can’t see us coming back to this hotel we will start going to the Sebel just located down the road

This was quite a fancy place to stay, but the room was quite dusty and sticky in places. The restaurant prices are extremely high and is closed on Sundays. There is no pool, spa or sauna, but they have access to a nearby gym for two hours if you fill in a survey and pick up key from Reception. The room did not come with a cot set up, even though we booked a room for 2 adults and an infant (I had to request one and it took a couple of hours to come, so delayed our plans). Great restaurant dining and groceries nearby in the shopping centre downstairs, but requires working out the after hour shopping centre blockades. The entryway from the basement smelt of sewerage, which was off-putting, but the murals are very pretty.

Always love staying at Sage. I can usually get into my room earlier. The late checkout at 11am is great. The rooms are always so quiet. Beds are very comfy. So handy having the Eastland shopping Centre downstairs and the railway station across the road.

Excellent place to stay. Modern and clean. Good bar and working facilities. Easy access. Only "challenge" is the bathrooms have glass sliding doors that offer NO provacy so a bit awkward if your in a twin share with a friend. Toilet moise .. urgh!!

The air conditioning had some issues. I set it to auto at 23°C, but the room temperature rose to 27°C and didn’t cool down. We eventually had to turn it off completely. This could be a concern during warmer seasons. Aside from that, the staff and amenities were perfectly fine.

5 nights Terrible communication First night after checking in tried room service but was told closed that night no reason given. Set off fire alarm drill for 40 minutes… not given a heads up at all. And then 2 tech guys open the door as my wife was about to get into the shower & came back again half an hour later to check the smoke detectors. Finally the old school cheating on cleaning by rubbing the dirty spoons & glasses with a micro cloth - I witnessed it! And there was no wardrobe room just a bar that didn’t work for us Very crammed room - below average stay especially since location is great, so new & fresh - bar area very nice too. Customer service from desk a zero!

Conveniently situated with double glazing to sound proof the rooms. The only issue was it took us more than 20 minutes to checkin at 2pm given they only had one person on at 2pm (the other was at lunch) when there was at least 10people checking in in preparation for the Matchbox Twenty concert. It’s only when I went up to the desk and suggested they had someone come in to assist given many of us needed to be at across the road at the bus terminal for a 2:50pm departure, that they called their colleague back from their lunch break.

We had a mostly good stay — the room was comfortable, staff were very friendly, and location superb. The only serious issue was the baby cot: it came without a proper mattress or even a hard base - just hotel linen over the cot liner and metallic X-shaped base frame. This even contravened the cot’s warning to use only the mattress supplied by the manufacturer, and that incorrect use of mattress can cause death. When this also failed to prompt the hotel to supply the mattress, we had to request for many layers of thick blankets to be provided, to be used as a mattress for the cot. Though due to the X-shaped frame beneath, the sleeping surface remained uneven. We therefore had to constantly check on our baby’s breathing throughout the night to make sure she was still fine sleeping in the makeshift mattress. Although we were not charged for the cot, the safety risk should not be disregarded.

Stylish, comfortable, large rooms. Entry is confusing at street level - just a small room with two lifts. Reception is on level 2. Parking is in the shopping centre. That said, it’s superbly decorated, and the staff are extremely helpful. Ringwood train station is just across the road. Takes about 50min to the centre of the city.

I had a lovely 3 night stay at Sage Hotel. I choose the hotel for its location. Its a short 5 minutes walk from Ringwood Station and it's conveniently accessible via a lift and walkway through to Eastland Shopping Centre. Its a good base for Puffing Billy Railway which I went on during my stay. The bed was very comfortable, good tea and coffee facilities and I loved the Ink and Water soap and moisturiser. I loved the free sparkling water and ice buckets too. The staff were really friendly at reception and at the bar. If I'm ever in the South East again I would stay here again. I recommend Sage Hotel.

Great parking, very close to a clean, bright shopping centre. Very modern hotel, great staff and a good breakfast selection. A better idea for breakfast, than a boring buffet. Maybe a couple of lighter options, pastries, gourmet toasted sandwich etc.

The room was comfortable and had everything we needed for our 2 nights. We were visiting for a family funeral. The staff were kind and showed empathy. Breakfast was delicious and well priced when booking in advance. Room service was slow when we asked for more milk bit that's the only negative I've got. Location is so handy Ruth a tiny walk through the carpark to the shops. Would definitely return.
