Motel 6 Texas City I-45

Air conditioner vents (intake and outflow) were filthy. I can only wonder about the filter. It was greatly convenient and affordable for an overnight stay in the area. I'd stay overnight again. Great that there was no charge for my dog. I really appreciated the instant refund of my cash pet deposit.

I have stayed here Twice. Once in February of 2025 and May of 2025. Both was for 2 nights. DISLIKES: The TV remote does not match the TV so you use the Channel up and down for Volume and the Volume up down for Channel up and down, and you are not told that before you enter the room. There is no Guide Button on the Remote. You must go up and down to find what you want to watch. The internet works, but is you leave the Motel, or wake up the next morning you have to sign in again. The Pillows on the bed were FLAT, and they have no extra pillows if you ask. The bead spread cigarette burns. The room was very clean, Bathroom was nice and has a fantastic mirror with 2 touch control for mirror lights and one for defogger. Parking is Great, Elevator across from Front Desk. There is a room with FREE coffee and vending machines. On one side is a Dominoes' Pizza, across is the is Kelly's Country Kitchen Diner and a Jack in the Box. Mini Fridge and Microwave worked great. The TV on the last visit had a loose cable connection and was a pain. I had a ROKU box and used a HDMI cable. It was a pain login into the internet. It took a few minutes for water to get how in the shower. This might be too long, but informative I believe. Clean and quiet property.

4th or 5th stay without a refrigerator

Great staff and clean quiet rooms. Plus there was no fee for my dog. Huge bonus!

Do not recommend to much construction in area no working elevator and customer service rude

Very nice overnight stay. Clean and comfortable bed. Thankful for good parking and the small refrigerator in the room.

Property needed a lot of work, broken stuff in the room. Smelled like mildew. Vending machines were half empty. Beds were uncomfortable. Don’t stay here.

First of all, the Desk attendant seemed in a rush to get back behind the door that she came from after I rang the bell. Second, when we got to the second floor there was a very putrid smell. I’m assuming curry that overwhelmed the hallway and caused me to be sick at my stomach. The shower was moldy. The only good thing I can say is the beds were OK and comfy the room itself was clean and the free dog stay was also what drove me to book with your hotel.

The check-in started well enough, the ladies at the front desk were friendly and customer oriented. The problem came when the young, incompetent man took over. He gave one of our party a room card to an occupied room. When we went back down he started to argue that the room couldnt be occupied because the computer said they were supposed to be checked out. But when you see personal items strewn around the room, its a bit obvious. (And a bit scary wondering if that ever happened to one of your rooms.) None of the ice machines worked and when told, the young man gave scarcely any indication he heard. We returned later on and found that the room that the computer had said was empty had indeed been emptied by the hotel staff tossing all of the items into the hallway...not in a storage closet, just in the public walkway. At bedtime we discovered that our bed was missing sheets. I went to the front desk and was told that by both the male employees that they were eating and I can come back in 10-15 minutes. I told them my room number and asked if they could be brought up. I was told again to come back so I told them they would bring them to me. The younger male agreed as the older one opened his mouth to argue. Twenty minutes later we received a call to see if we had our sheets, no we didn't. Ten more minutes and the older male brought them up and then made some comment about if I could make a bed. The nerve, the audacity...I said thank you and walked away.

That was the worst stay. It was a last minute pick. The room was dirty when we arrived. The room we got had dog pee on the wall next to the AC unit and by the tv corner. We asked them to come clean it or could we have something to clean it and they said they would have someone come up there. We left for an hour, came back the room was not cleaned. The bathroom smelt horrible. The bed is thin and sheets had hair all over them. No mattress protection on the mattress. I will not stay there or any motel 6 again. I’ll tell you that

The room wasnt clean, no pillows or remote. Asked for service to fix and was provided quick response. We cleaned floor with bleach wipes and sprayed bed ourselves

Hallways smelled terrible and room was really humid with a moldy smell, hairs all over bed, towels and floor, they couldn’t switch our room which we understand since it was Labor Day weekend but my family woke up feeling sick

Sticky floors, dirty pillow case and stained sheet. Difficult to get fresh sheet and pillow case. Would not book again.

The motel was new but won't stay that way if they don't do a better job of housekeeping. 1 bed has bed bugs. Hostess just remade the bed to rebook. Had black hairs in bed 2 give us another room. Floor was sticky

The rooms were okay ,but it does need more cleaning the shower walls were dirty.

The room was pretty big and it was cold! Bathroom was clean and room was clean.

Honestly it did the job of a bed for 6 hours of sleep. However, don’t expect a cushy blanket or a comforter that will keep you warm; it’s a sheet and a very thin bed cover. Also the refrigerator was on the other side of the room, which meant the chord ran across the hallway. Make sure you have a night light on so you don’t trip over it.

The bed was so hard and incredibly uncomfortable. No extra pillows. Dead and half dead bugs all over the room

Light is room was out, smoke detector wires hanging out of ceiling, asked for extra pillows and was told they were out. Bed was horrible. I guess you get what you pay for. I will never stay here again

My first stay was a far better experience, but this stay was not a negative one by any means. The only real misgiving was a small one, where a past patron must have broken the television remote (this seemed to happen at a different hotel property i stayed in recently as well. Staying on the 1st floor was a tiny bit loud through the night, but not awful. A room on any higher floor would probably be more tranquil.

Had to pay a fee to check in 30-45 minutes early. After we got into our room, we went to go get stuff from our car and we couldn't get back into our room they had to get maintenance to open it, it took 3 hours. They did put us in another room but there was no wifi connection in that room whatsoever. They did let me back in the room after check out cause i left something in there. It wasn't terrible but i was pretty stressed out because i left my phone and wallet in the first room and had to wait 3 hours to get them back.

Do not recommend staying here unless you want dogs barking, a spring loaded bed, and an MIA front desk staff. They are extremely unprofessional, and wouldn’t even consider giving us a portion of our money back.

Little more detail to bed comfort, pillows to flat

The shower head was broken and no remote in the room when I arrived. It took 20 mins to get a remote. Weird vibe from the staff. I think that mom was training the daughter. Have to call or ring a bell for service.

We were assigned our 1st room and it smelt like cigarettes and was dirty. We asked for another room because we have a toddler and that room had hair all over sheets and spotted blood on one of the beds. People going in and out like it was a place to do their business and then head home to the family. We asked for a refund and staff said no because we booked through a third party. I just took it as a loss.

It was very clean, quiet and i felt safe. the studio room was perfect size. laudnry room was clean. 7-3p desk clerk on the day I arrived was cold and gave me uncomfortable looks. The 3-7pm Desk person was GREAT. The Manager refused to fix my room key (It wouldn't work), yet the 3-7pm desk guy fixed it within seconds. THAT issue sucked.

I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. On 7/4/25, whwn trying to check in for 2 rooms, I was told I did not have a reservation. Although, I had my confirmation number. I booked 2 rooms 6 months in advance. I repeatedly call every month to confirm my reservations were still valid. I was told yes every time. My rate was $104 per room (2). Due to the July 4 holiday, hotel rates increased everywhere. This is why I booked EARLY!!! There were 2 other people trying to check in also. All 3 of us were given the same message - "You dont have reservations". All 3 of have confirmation numbers/emails. We figurdd out what happened. People who had rooms with $100 rates, were deleted from their system. Those rooms were given to other people who paid $250-$300!! That was very tacky for Mrs. Patel (hotel manager) to do that without any notice. Anyway, I was able to find a better suite, better price, better location at Home 2 Suites by Hilton in Webster, TX. I will NEVER utilize this hotel with despicable staff.

We ran out of toliet paper and no one was at the front desk to give us more. We also didn’t have clean towels to shower with. The owners live onsite so not sure why we couldn’t get a hold of anyone. There was a note left to call if help was needed. We called 5 times and motel6 customer service called several to times.

We had 23 people coming along who all made reservations online through Expedia. Everyone received their reservation numbers and when 1 person called to confirm their reservation it “wouldn’t pull up” so the hotel cancelled their reservation and booked them direct but charged close to 30.00 more. My daughter showed up and they charged her more than what was on the reservation but she is very non-confrontational and just paid it. My son showed up (his room was under my reservation along with our room) and our reservation was lost. I gave him the Expedia number along with my name and “it would not pull up and I would need to contact Expedia”, which I did and they confirmed I did have a reservation there. Expedia called the property and he tried to tell them the same thing. By the time I showed up to the property, it had magically appeared. As our other guests showed up, several were charged more than what showed through Expedia. Now, let’s get to the rest of our stay… rooms were not clean, property was not easily accessible, surrounding area was straight ghetto. Our room had no toilet paper and the employee got in no hurry to get some and hand it to me so I could take it up. Another room had no pillow cases, the employee got pillow cases and tried to hand them to the guest so they could put them on themselves. 10/10 do NOT recommend this property to anyone.

Very good property and location. Comfortable bed and the tiny refrigerator was helpful to have available. The bathroom this visit was not clean and at check-in, a request for an additional pillow was denied.

Convenient for my travel plans

We stayed the night before our cruise. It was very convenient, just off the highway, and only about 20 miles from Galveston. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable.

It was a great location for what we needed. Unfortunately there was a lot of road works at the time and it wasn't always easy to get there.

Room was very clean, quiet, and a short trip to the cruise terminal. The restaurant across the street Kelly's was fantastic. The best food 😋

We stayed at the Motel 6 on I-45 in Texas City with a group of friends. The property was easy to find and the check in process was easy and fast. The employees were nice. It was convenient to get to Galveston for our cruise.

The location was great the customer service was amazing they were very helpful and professional at all times

Quick and easy access to the highway and nearby to what we needed. Will probably stay here again.

It's a good place to stay , rooms are decent..close to beach .ice machine works .pool is open and clean. The bad is towels .Bring your own towels and your good! Hard your them too give every room 6-8 towels.... Seen a few unhappy people over towels... Overall for 80$ a night you can't complain huh.. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nice family who runs the hotel, very affordable and the rooms has some nice upgrades (mirror in bathroom). Kelley’s restaurant right across the street, dominos pizza next door along with a Jack n the box close. Vending machines only. I did have to have my room card constantly rekeyed which was no a huge issue however inconvenience to say the least. Hotel is pet friendly but third floor only.

I normally don't stay at hotel 6 however it was a studio 6. It was clean but smell like cigarettes in the room. They put me in a handicap room and I did not request it. The shower was handheld and it was missing the hook to hang it up. The beds were comfortable but the furniture was very old and dated. It was ok for a 1 night stay I guess. They had a coffee maker that did not have coffee and plus they didn't even serve any breakfast. Room priced too high for no amenities. They are overcharging due to the location being close to Galveston. I will never stay there again.
