Puerta Azul

A beautiful, very clean property at the edge of the medina. A very convenient , easy 8-10 minutes uphill walk to the medina, or a 1 US$ taxi ride. We prefer this type of property with easy parking access, more spacious rooms, and modern and clean bathroom facility, in comparison to the usually cramped, musty, older riads within the medina. The breakfast is generous and excellent. The manager Aziz and his younger assistant are warm and hospitable, treating the guests like their own family. A wonderful , unbeatable choice for Chefchaouen !

We visited Puerta Azul in Nov 2021. We mainly chose this location because of the access to parking. Which as we had a rental car was very easy to park as this location is outside the medina. We were warmly welcomed by Aziz who was very friendly and accommodating. We were offered tea and had a moment to relax after a long drive. Aziz allowed us to select our choice of three rooms which were available. All of which were very large and included a refrigerator. We only stayed in Chefchouen for one evening but Aziz was very helpful in sitting down and providing detailed recommendation on the sites of the city. He even quickly assisted us with getting a taxi so we wouldn’t miss the sunset over the Spanish Mosque. He walked with us back to the hotel when we ran into him in the medina later in the evening. Puerta Azul is located a bit outside the medina so there is a fair amount of walking up hills to the Kasbah and the gates. All of which is walkable and fairly easy to navigate and get a bit of exercise. The room we selected was on the fourth floor so there was a fair number of stairs which fortunately was not an issue for us. The location of the hotel is outside the medina and in the evening, you do hear the sounds of the city (i.e. dog barking, cars honking, people talking, etc.). We did not utilize the shower but the restroom was adequate. The bed was on the firm side. Breakfast was tasty – the highlight is the fresh squeezed orange juice.

Het hotel heeft een eigen parkeerplaats onder het gebouw. Als het druk is kan je niet keren en moet je achteruit de parkeerplaats verlaten. Ontbijt was meer dan genoeg keuze, traditioneel ontbijt vers gemaakt met een open keukentje. Er is een lift maar om de lift te bereiken moet je 3 treden op. Personeel is erg vriendelijk. Kamers zien er ook netjes uit en goed verzorgd. Perfecte locatie voor Chefchaouen

Good "modern" hotel. Very good WiFi. Very good location for exploring the town. The hotel is located at the base of the town. The medina is an easy 10 minute walk. Very convenient location if you're getting dropped off by a taxi or some such (no need to carry your bags through the souk) Friendly / helpful staff Only complaint is that the towels are overly starched.

Located just 15 minutes walikng from the Medina, this lovely small hotel offers the traveler a wonderful place to relax and unwind, with excellent service by a very friendly and welcoming staff! Happy to have our choice of rooms upon arrival, and concierge-like service for a dinner recommendation. The parking is easy, as was the driving in and out. Breakfast was very delightful. And five stars for the staff! Perfect ambassadors of Moroccan hospitality!

Ein wirklich schöne, einfache Unterkunft. 10 Minuten zu Fuß in das Zentrum. Parkmöglichkeiten in der eigenen Tiefgarage. Der Service ist soooo freundlich und herzlich.

Das Hotel ist sehr sauber und ruhig. Die Gegend ist sehr schön auf den Bergen in der blauen Stadt. Die Altstadt (Medina) ist zu Fuß in 15 Minuten erreichbar allerdings Berg hoch. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker. Hotel Personal sind ganz nett und freundlich. Das Hotel würde ich jedem empfehlen. Vielen lieben Dank an Yasin und sein Team.

Hotel recente, pulito, camere tipiche e ben arredate, con wifi, piccolo frigo, condizionatore, TV, phon, doccia grande e buoni prodotti di cortesia. Colazione molto buona ed abbondante, un plauso va a chi gestisce la struttura, tutte persone gentili e attente, veramente un ottimo soggiorno con un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

A decoração é muito bonita e os funcionários são muito simpáticos e prestativos. O café da manhã tava ótimo. Recomendo!

We had a lovely time, it is a clean pretty and quiet hotel, nice breakfast. Good air conditioning in the room. We got a taxis to the top of the Medina and walked back down. A very pretty town to visit.

Very cute hotel! the staff was very accommodating and even gave us free treats when we wanted to play cards in the lobby. Everything is blue except the walls of the rooms. The pictures show blue walls, but they are white. Highly recommend

It is a wonderful place. Aziz showed us the warmest welcome and stayed our most useful guide over the duration of our stay giving us a good advice of where to go and what to do.

Staff need to improve on customer service. Compared to other Riad we stayed staff were very helpful with luggage & welcoming.

I tried to change my stay date, Expedia told me it was the hotel manger that needed to change the date and hotel management told me it was Expedia… round and round for 2 weeks and ended up paying my 2 rooms anyway. I tried to change the date immediately after first booking.

Localização boa, mas há uma boa caminhada ( subida ) da Medina. Atendimento maravilhoso , café da manhã saboroso . Acho que vale a pena pelo Atendimento .
