Riverbend Homestead

We had a great time at the farm, swimming in the river, riding bikes and relaxing. Good location close to Bright and Feathertop trails. Love the atmosphere and views. Manager and rental process very efficient.

We are returning after our stay at Riverbend Homestead Horse and Farmstay, and it was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the upper Ovens Valley, just 5 minutes from Bright, this large, spacious Australian homestead offers a perfect blend of comfort and adventure.The homestead is surrounded by a 150-acre working farm and alpine forests, providing a true wilderness experience. The beautiful Ovens River runs along the property, offering a secluded and serene environment. The open-plan living area, with its hardwood flooring and large dining table, was perfect for our group. The sleeping arrangements were excellent, with three double bedrooms and a bunkroom that comfortably accommodated our group of 11. The bedrooms were cozy, with heaters and fans, and all bedding was provided. One of the highlights of our stay was the outdoor activities. The kids loved feeding the chickens and sheep, and playing in the games room. The large wrap-around deck with a gas BBQ was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the stunning views of Mt Feathertop.Overall, Riverbend Homestead Horse and Farmstay provided a perfect getaway for our family and friends. The combination of a comfortable homestead, beautiful surroundings, and a variety of activities made our stay truly special. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable holiday experience.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the property manager made the process so simple and easy and made sure there was everything we needed. The house and area itself is to die for, many river spots or swimming holes to explore just at the property. We wouldn’t have to leave. The kids loved the space to run around and utilised all of the games room equipment, they never wanted to leave. We had 9 people in the end and we had plenty of room and was not on top of each other at all. We will be coming back for sure, we’re thinking of starting a family tradition to come back each year so the kids grow up remembering this place. Cannot recommend it enough.

We spent 5 days here with our 2 kids, and none of us wanted to leave. They homestead is out of the busy town center, and is a very quiet place to relax. There are endless things on the farm to keep the kids busy, swimming at the dam, feeding the chickens and rams, bikes, table tennis - the list goes on. There are also a few great spots to float in the river to cool off. Ed is a fantastic host. We can't wait to go back.

We wanted to escape the Concrete jungle for few days, booked this Homestead. After 5 hour drive from Melbourne, we reached the place and it was serene. Getting to place is pretty easy, google maps will do and there are plenty of Signs. Easy checkin, farm animals are very close to property and they are very friendly. Ed came over and had a chat with us, we learnt a lot about Bright and what he does on his farm, was quite educational. Its a 150 acre property with absolute Privacy to enjoy the time with family. Morning walks, picnic watching the cows, kayak at the dam and there is so much to so. We absolutely loved the place and will come back with larger group for sure. Ed was an interesting Personality...

We absolutely loved our annual family snow week. Plenty to do on the farm for non skiers. Fresh eggs everyday, loved feeding the chickens and sheep, kids loved all of that, having an outside fire eith marshmallows and spooky stories and cosy family nights and 4 days of skiing as well. Ed was terrific showing the kids hay feeding time with the cows. Special hugs to Walter and Speckles those gorgeous pups. We are definitely returning next snow season.

We love the farmstead. So much to do, short drives to waterfalls and rivers, or chill on the deck watching the cows, feeding the sheep, or just stare into the distance at the amazing scenery. It’s our second time here, first time was for 3 nights, this time was a week and we didn’t want to leave. My 5 year old learnt to ride his little dirt bike here. Created some amazing memories

The house was spotless and warm when we arrived, making us feel comfortable right away. There were plenty of activities and games available at the property to keep everyone entertained.Our little one had the best time interacting with the animals – sheep, chickens, horses, and cows. Meanwhile, the older kids (and adults!) had a great time playing cricket in the open space.A special shoutout to Ed, our host, who went above and beyond. We requested a portable speaker, and he personally made a trip to Albury over the weekend just to arrange one for us! We stayed at Riverbend as a group of five for a Hotham ski trip. The photos accurately described the homestead. It was incredibly warm heated by panel heaters, split system a/c, wood fire. Ed was a generous host and we wanted for nothing.

Wonderful farmstay accommodation. Plenty of room for 2 families plus grandparents. Ed was a great host who filled us in on all we could do whilst there, then left us alone to enjoy the amazing property. So many things for us all to do with all the equipment in the games area. The kids had a ball riding their dirt bikes, feeding the chickens, horse and ram. The scenery is so beautiful. We will definitely be going back again next year.

Fantastic property, gorgeous surroundings. It’s very nice to sit outside in the mornings. Lots of things to do within the massive property, and less than 15 minutes from Bright for shopping and swimming.

We stayed at river bend with three family groups- it was fantastic. Beautiful to wake up to views of the farm and the mountains, the kids loved going out to look for eggs, it was a great spot to base ourselves for days up at mount Hotham and in to bright and porepunkah and wandi for meals. We had a ball.

Greta hospitality and location. Plenty of activities for the whole family and a close drive to the snow. Plenty of options in bright (10 min drive ) for shopping /food/ coffees etc. Kids loved the animals on site and a comfy stay overall.
