The rooms were clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had a nice breakfast in the morning. The pool area is what needs attention. There were little clumps of hair around the edges of the hot tub. The floor overall needed to be swept. The bathroom needed to be cleaned. This is the reason I rated the cleanliness lower.

Everything was uniquely situated on first floor: pool, excellent breakfast, ice, check-in and everyone was very nice. My only discomfort was the temperature of the hot tub, it was scalding to me. Sat with toes in for the 5 minute timer, then left.

Super clean and comfortable, including rocking recliner. Great breakfast. Although I didn't need or utilize, they have an evening bar and also a small conference room. Only thing is that there was no hairdryer in the room. Wish the clerk would have informed me of this when checking in, that due to all the thefts, you have to check them out.

Was disappointed that the jacuzzi was not working all 4 nights we were there. Breakfast is you usual minimal motel breakfast. Other fan those 2 things. Nice drive thru coffee stand next door and a nice grocery store next door as well. Those are big pluses

Evening staff was as helpful as they could be. However, the room that I was placed in had a overpowering smell of animal urine. Evening staff could not find a way to clean it. And therefore had to move me to a different room. Best solution for a very poor situation. Don't know how staff would allow this to pass inspection for guest occupancy in any way. Also uncertain why a guest would be given a Companion Animal room without first being notified or disclosing animal presence.

There was a used soap on the rail of the shower and a razor cover in the drain of the shower as well as some paper on the floor. No new soap. One toilet paper was empty. Only one wash cloth. They came and cleaned the bathroom apologizing. Otherwise ok stay.

Overall it is an ok Hotel. The beds are comfortable and the room was in good condition. Had two issues with the Hotel. The heating and cooling unit was impossible to get a good temperature in the room. It was either too got or cold. The worst part was the breakfast.the first morning they had no milk or cereal. The eggs and sausages had been reheated mutable times. The eggs were dry and crusty the sausage was hard and dry. The water had no ice and had to be leftover from the morning before. So not a bad place to stay but skip the breakfast.

I always stay at Brookstone when visiting Emmetsburg. Rooms are nice, staff are amazing. This trip was screwed up because i got caught in a snowstorm and wasn't able to make it up here. They were more actually helpful the Hotels.com in making sure the dates could be changed. They followed up and followed through.

Megan is amazing. So friendly & professional. Kind & helpful. Set us up so we could eat dinner in the lounge area with tv and wouldn't let us clean up. Absolutely one of the best hostesses I've met at a hotel.

Clean hotel. Got here a half hour before check-in time so had to wait in lobby for room to get cleaned. Got call after check-in to come to desk. I was given wrong room but they said no room change just fill out paper again that I had already filled out. Came in after supper and desk clerk said they did not have my address. I had already given my address to the first clerk at check in. I feel the staff is not trained well to do check in. Not had breakfast yet so not sure how that will be yet. It is a nice hotel for a small town. Bedding is nice and clean along with the bathroom.

When I made my reservation, I was supposed to be on the main floor. They put me up on the second floor. Thank you for the breakfast, but the food was not that good eggs are dry and sausage taste terrible. Had pancakes and orange juice.

Very clean. We really enjoyed the clean pool. Breakfast was better than the standard. Only complaint was the pillows were too soft. We would stay here again, great value for the price.
