We had a wonderful overnight stay at the Black Walnut Inn. The Inn is just lovely. Everything was so clean and we had everything we needed when we got there. The property is beautiful and the room was so cozy. The best part about it was the breakfast. Homemade bread, fresh baked sweet treats, and fresh eggs from the hens on the property. Next time we are visiting our niece in Amherst we will for sure be staying there.

OMG! What a lovely place! Gail & staff were so pleasant & accommodating! Wonderful home cooked breakfast in the morning, comfortable sleeping room… Just a very much homey environment! Loved our stay, but it was too short. PS- Visit the chicken. They are so cute!!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and very comfortable, handicap accessible with convenient free parking. Breakfast was unique in our experience. We registered the night before for breakfast, the time we wanted to eat and chose what we wanted from the menu options. Everything was made fresh from scratch with fresh baked pastries included! Our cook welcomed us and made us feel like we were in our in home eating with family. Overall, I would highly recommend The Black Walnut Inn!

Really lovely place and organized with check in process! Common areas very welcoming and the breakfast service was friendly and super delicious. Only suggestion was to have a 2nd chair in guest room for 2 people, and a box of tissues handy. Lots of other conveniences were nice though. Coffee was super delicious local roasted! Thank you for nice stay.

Property was lovely. Check-in is turn key and you only see staff at breakfast - which was lush both days. Central to all you need in Amherst, but off the main drags so nice and quiet. Fab mattresses! Visit the chickens!

We were in town for a lacrosse tournament and found this gem on hotels.com. It was a great spot, perfect location, and loved the vibe of a farmhouse turned into an Inn. Hot breakfast made to order was fantastic. Room was spotless and spacious. Bathroom was immaculate as well.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Black Walnut while visiting our son at UMass. The Inn is so charming and cozy. Gail, Darren and Megan could not have been nicer or friendlier. We stayed in the suite and it was fantastic. Lots of room for us to settle in, having the kitchenette was very handy and the living space was wonderful. The morning breakfasts were delicious too! We'll be visiting a lot over the next few years and can't wait for our next stay! 😊

What a wonderful place to stay as we enjoyed our daughter's graduation at Umass. They go and above and beyond to make it special. We stayed in a suite so we had plenty of space. They didn't miss any details. The breakfast was so special and tasty. I would highly recommend.

Wonderful place, staff, and breakfast. I was not aware that my room would not have an attached bathroom (although it was private). Not sure how to determine this ahead of time, as I would rebook here if I had one of the rooms with a bathroom. Thank you for a great stay.

The room itself was very nice. But, the room had an emergency exit door that was located right next to the bed area and the street noise from that door was awful. It sounded like we were on the street. Breakfast was delicious and staff were great. Would be a 5 if not for the street noise.

Wonderful B&B! My husband and I took our two daughters (ages 3 and 1) to Magic Wings and wanted to make it a fun overnight trip. The Black Walnut room #7 was excellent, large and clean with 2 double beds (we brought our own Pack n Play). Smart TV, lots of outlets and a bonus couch with a round coffee table (which is something you don't really think about until you have a toddler..) everything you could want. Breakfast was made to order, and my 3 year old LOVED her chocolate chip pancakes. The owner and the chef went out of their way to make us feel welcome with small kids and I'm really appreciate that, we look forward to our next visit!

We had a wonderful overnight stay at the Black Walnut Inn. The Inn is just lovely. Everything was so clean and we had everything we needed when we got there. The property is beautiful and the room was so cozy. The best part about it was the breakfast. Homemade bread, fresh baked sweet treats, and fresh eggs from the hens on the property. Next time we are visiting our niece in Amherst we will for sure be staying there.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and very comfortable, handicap accessible with convenient free parking. Breakfast was unique in our experience. We registered the night before for breakfast, the time we wanted to eat and chose what we wanted from the menu options. Everything was made fresh from scratch with fresh baked pastries included! Our cook welcomed us and made us feel like we were in our in home eating with family. Overall, I would highly recommend The Black Walnut Inn!

We were in town for a lacrosse tournament and found this gem on hotels.com. It was a great spot, perfect location, and loved the vibe of a farmhouse turned into an Inn. Hot breakfast made to order was fantastic. Room was spotless and spacious. Bathroom was immaculate as well.
