Great location at Southbank if you are doing DFO shopping. There are plenty of restaurants and Cafes close by. Comfortable accommodation & great friendly service. A bit annoying that you need to get 2 lifts to get to your floor but it won’t stop me staying here again. Car parking is expensive in the DFO car park. It’s a discounted rate if you are staying at the hotel but still $50 a night!

This is about the most convenient hotel to stay in if you are coming to MCEC. I stayed in Pan Pac last year and decided to try Novotel this year when I came for the same conference. As far as convenience for the purpose of the conference, It's about as good as it gets. Similar to Pan Pac, it has dedicated entrance to the MCEC, such that you don't even need to be in the elements. Everything is functional and business like. There is a restaurant and bar at Level 6. A reasonable gym (no view though) at level 5. Room is extremely clean and spacious. Service staff is competent and closed to being invisible.

In a great location to south wharf DFO and exhibition centre across the road and quick access to DFO car parking although not much signage for directions to the Novatel reception from car park. Hotel is clean and comfortable Great for anyone doing a shopping weekend !

The novotel was clean and tidy, rooms are compact but fine for a night or two. After hours room service menu was very limited. I needed milk for a baby at 9pm and no convenience store open or nearby. The staff provided a small UHT milk. Shoping and restaurants very close. No hotel parking but you can park in the DFO parking for a fee of $50 however, makes the stay expensive

My Stay at the Novotel was good, however at 5.30am I encounter very little Hot water in the Shower. It took a good 10minutes to finally come good. The following day I was aware of this so turned the shower on ahead of hoping in. I was on the 14th Floor so whether there is a water delay it maybe something you want to check out. Other than that, the Staff were pleasant, and I enjoyed my stay. I was attending an Exhibition & Conference, so location is brilliant. Thank you and I would recommend the Novotel.

The experience was awesome. Super easy to walk into the Convention centre. The Conceirge "George" was truly exceptional. He was extremely helpful, showing me how to use the tram network and his enthusiasm for his job was infectious.

They did see under-staffed both at check-in and at the concierge which took away from the experience. eg there was no-one at the desk in the afternoon to distribute the bags from the clock-room. We needed to go to Level 5 and ask to have someone help us - and all the other people waiting.

Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel is a little far away from public transport options, when the weather is very hot. There seemed to be very minimal staff at the hotel, including during a fire alarm at 10pm, where the single staff member on duty asked me to manage other guests and stop them from re-entering the hotel while the alarms were going off. More staff, and more training on emergency protocols is needed here. This very obvious lack of staffing tainted what was otherwise a comfortable stay.

Accomodation was very good. Check in service and reception and concierge staff all lovely and friendly. Room service meal however was terrible. Basically inedible Bahn mi roll. Also although the restaurant was promoted as being open until 10pm, I couldn’t get a coffee at 9.30pm. Maybe advertised times need to be revised.

My standout experience was the hotel breakfast buffet, which was included in my package. The food was great - especially the bacon - and the staff were attentive but allowed all the diners to eat in peace.
