The hardware of TORTUE HAMBURG is undoubtedly 5-star. The rooms, the general atmosphere, and the quality of the food in the Brasserie were absolutely excellent.However, the guest service and complaint management were highly disappointing for an establishment of this caliber. During my stay, 6-9 og JuIi I experienced a clear breach of international wine service standards in the Brasserie on two consecutive nights. When ordering a glass of Primitivo, the glass was brought to the table already filled, without showing the bottle or pouring it in front of the guest.What makes it highly unacceptable for a luxury hotel is the total lack of response. I sent emails to both 'info' and the 'Brasserie' during my stay, and I raised the issue verbally twice during checkout and payment. Nobody has bothered to react, follow up, or reply to my feedback.Great rooms and food cannot make up for being completely ignored as a guest.

We had a lovely weekend stay at Tortue in a Grande Double Room, which was very spacious and included a comfortable sitting area. The bed was comfortable, although the pillows were a little flimsy. The bathroom was on the smaller side, with a shower over the bath; and the towels felt quite thin. The décor throughout the hotel is stylish, with a dark and moody atmosphere that we really liked. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming, and the complimentary drink on arrival was a nice touch. There were a couple of minor drawbacks. The air conditioning was quite weak, so we needed to open the windows to cool the room down. Unfortunately, our room overlooked the main street, so it could be quite noisy with traffic. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the breakfast. I don’t say that very often, but it was exceptional. There was a great selection of à la carte dishes, all freshly prepared to order, and everything we tried was of superb quality and absolutely delicious. The breakfast service was good too - friendly, efficient and attentive. My partner particularly loved staying at Tortue, and overall we had a wonderful stay. We would definitely come back.
