Views magnificent, loved the experience of sleeping in a tipi. Horse ride 10/10. Great staff. Only downside is there is no area to BBQ or facilities such as a BBQ grill to cook own food.

Staff is helpful but some of the options such as tipi is just barebones with no outlet, heating, or wifi service, especially ones to the further end of the campsite. Morning in early August becomes freezing cold. Sheets and blankets provided are stained and dirty from previous use. On the plus side, the panoramic scene is amazing. There’s also a cozy and warm lodge where you can charge your phone in relative safety.

Toilet block is exceptionally dirty, no toilet paper, floors flooded all the time. No drinking water available, have to buy a 'souvenir' cup for $3 just to get water.

Overall we were pleasantly surprised with the property and the experience. We had a heated covered wagon. It was clean, warm and the linens were clean (sheets, pillowcases & towels). Check in was easy and the people were friendly. Our only disappointments were that there are few showers…it wasn’t shared with us that there were any. I walked in what was labeled as the shower house - it was unlocked & a light was on. This is where they had locker room style showers, however this building is now used as storage and has no running water. We did find the bathroom building - but we weren’t told there were showers in there, I used a bathroom on the side facing the office/store, which only had a bathroom. The cafe is open until 10pm, but at 9pm the only food they serve is deep fried food. On a website it listed this cafe as a bar, it has a few options for beer, but nothing else. They are friendly in the cafe though- the mozzarella sticks were yummy! They have a nice gift shop/store. Beautiful scenery for the entire property.

The tipi's were listed as being on wooden floors, but they were set up on pea gravel. There was only one toilet in the men's bathroom to share with at least 20+ tipis and covered wagons (all of them). There was no paper towel in both the men's and women's bathroom's for over 24 hours. Toilet paper in the men's was almost out until I finally mentioned it to the staff. The resort is an authentic dude ranch, they offer plenty of activities you can pay for, and it is very close to Grand Teton NP. If you plan to stay budget minded and sleep in a Tipi or wagon, it is sufficient, but be warned that you get what you pay for. It's the cheapest lodging in the area for a reason,

The wagon is a cool concept except for a couple of things, no ac, weak heater, and dirty/broken showers. We were able to use the lodge for the bathrooms which were nice. We didn’t use the outhouse/shower, they were dirty, wet, and dim. I felt that they should really upgrade those to make it more pleasant to use, my kids (who are not picky), complained about the cleanliness of the showers. We laughed at the sign that says, “use shower to wash hands.” I think if you bring your own bedding (they will charge you $20 if you don’t), heater, and fan, you might be a lot happier. I am hoping this review will help you make a more prepared/informed decision if you choose this place. One big plus is that this place is gorgeous, a river winds through it and the view is amazing.

We stayed in a covered wagon. The wagon itself was great. However the bathroom and shower facilities left a lot to be desired and need a major upgrade. We could only find one shower for the entire place and it was in terrible shape. I would however stay here again.

Great location, just outside of Teton National Park. We stayed in a covered wagon, next to the horse corral, so the smell was unpleasant and a tractor delivered hay at 5 am. They charge $20 for bed sheets per wagon per stay. They offer horseback rides from the property and rafting trips. I’d come back, but choose a cabin next time.

The men’s bathroom has no working urinal and only 1 working toilet to accommodate dozens of men. We saw a lot of people just getting up and leaving as fast as they could. The location is beautiful and would have like to have been able to stay a bit longer if the facilities had been a bit better. Staff was friendly and that made it tolerable.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Poor Hospitality and Unsafe Conditions We had planned to stay for two nights, but ended up leaving after one miserable night. The wagon we were assigned was dirty, poorly lit, and completely unprepared for guests. At 10:00 PM, staff attempted a quick dusting — hardly a solution when cleanliness should be a basic standard, not a late-night favor. Out of three bathrooms available on site: • Only one was operational. • One had no hot water and a non-working sink. • The third was completely closed. • One shower even had a handwritten note saying: “Use shower to wash your hands.” That says it all. The conditions were worse than camping — my entire family was deeply uncomfortable and disappointed. The next morning, I raised all of this with the manager and asked to be moved to a cabin. I was told I’d have to pay the full price difference. I offered to meet halfway, given the awful first night, but management refused — no apology, no ownership, no basic courtesy. The moment I mentioned the note in the bathroom, they scrambled — clearly aware how damaging it could be to their already below-average reputation. They said they’d “look into it” and would text me back. No text ever came. I called in the afternoon and was again told I’d have to pay the full difference. Still no apology, no regret — just indifference. I hung up and booked a different hotel.

The staff was friendly but the bathroom facilities were awful and very dirty. I had to drive 15 miles away just to have a clean shower and use the toilet.

Rustic accommodations in the teepee was expected but the men’s bathrooms looked like a crime scene the entire 12 hours we were there. Standing water everywhere from bathers and the toilet was either backed up or had exploded feces everywhere so I never used it. Ladies at front desk were nice and dinner in. Restaurant property was decent enough.

Ceiling falling apart in bathroom. One shower broken, another had an inch of mud caked on for four days, toilets were gross. Loved the round toilet seat on an oval toilet. Smh

Bought bedding, didn’t include pillows so you have to bring your own. Women’s bathroom by the teepees was dirty and had a broken shower. Waiter ignored us when we were trying to order. We went to a different restaurant outside of the ranch and paid less with better service

I will say the view was breathtaking and seeing the horses on the ranch awesome but the place was FILTHY. The bathhouse was not cleaned in the 4 days we were there. So dirty!!! Disgusting! The wagon we stayed in had multiple holes in the canvas and holes in the screen windows. The floor was full of dust and trash. Under the mattresses was more trash including used q-tips. The blankets had stains on them and smelled, When we arrived the previous tenants trash and sheets were still there. There was a run off directly in front of our steps that smelled like sewerage. The grounds had trash. It’s too bad because it is in a beautiful area if they just took some time to clean

The toilets are filthy both in the community build and the building where guests go to use wifi, the showers are dirty. There ere one paper tower for a day which not enough for all guests who stay there.

The location is gorgeous, the teepees were spacious but the dirt floor made all our bags and blankets filthy. The views of the Tetons were spectacular. The bathrooms were terribly run down and not cleaned often enough.

There were no sheets or pillow cases on the beds or in the wagons at all. Had to go get them from the front desk and make our own beds. The floor was filthy. The heater didn’t work- we froze to death. The bathrooms were ATROCIOUS. Toilets running over, the floors felt like they were going to cave in, and they were covered in mud. If it wasn’t in the middle of nowhere and we hadnt arrived late at night- I would’ve paid big money to stay anywhere else. I couldn’t wait for daybreak to get out of there. We have stayed in huts in the woods before- so it wasn’t like I didn’t know what to expect. But I’d at least expect it to be clean and with linens.

Where do I start. TeePee was filthy, dryrotted, on gravel, inside gravel, not a yurt on platform as advertized. Bathroom was beyound disgustingly.. trash everywhere, ceiling fslling down, sewerage and bathwater pouring fron under bath trailer onto ground sewer smell. Mens urinal didnt flush and not toiled paper.

Incredible view of the Tetons right from our covered wagon. Watching the horses coming in in the morning was very cool. Kids loved sleeping in the wagon. Electricity and heat, wifi. The bath house was kind of shoddy. The middle room had no cold water in the sink or shower. The floor tended to be muddy. The cafe is too expensive at $20 for a burger and fries, but there aren't a lot of other places to eat nearby.

The experience is a bit like camping. The staff is really nice. I would recommend booking a cabin if you want your own bathroom.

We stayed in a wagon. One step up from camping. Teepees were totally rough camping. Would recommend the wagons instead if you want to camp.

I would like the option of having an outlet in the Teepee's. I use a CPAP/sleep machine and there wasn't power available. Other than that, it was a great experience. We will definitely be back! Want to try a Conestoga Wagon Next time.

Great way to stay in a teepee. 4 no frills twin mattresses on elevated frames. Did not close completely but was ok. Bath house with 2 showers for women. Nice. Driveway was severely rutted to get to teepee area. A working ranch so staff was quite noisey very early in morning. 5-5:30 am! Operating loud equipment right outside of teepees. Multiple times. Loud trucks too. Great location near Yellowstone and Grand Teton NPs. Brought my own blow up pad which made bed bearable. Also had my own sleeping bag, pillow and blankets. Otherwise they charge $22. Really no frills but good be fun. Just didn't appreciate the early noise. 45 degrees in the morning so need to be prepared. I was. No heat.

it is what it is. If you come expecting a 5-star hotel, it is not. A bit expensive for what they include, but we enjoyed our stay despite the noise late and early. You cannot blame the ranch for people being noisy at 4am!! they do ask for quiet time. The beds have seen better days, but the linens were perfectly clean. You have to make your own bed though! It was funny a lady knocking in our wagon for housekeeping... well, maybe they wanted us out faster than we wanted to. The bathrooms could use a serious upgrade, but they were fairly clean. Again, one cannot control what other guests do in a shared space.

Fun but no heat. Neither gas or electric heaters worked.

Best view ever, both sunset and the Milky Way. Totally unique “room” in the wagon. But being a tent, we could really feel that below-freezing night even with heat.

The staff was very helpful ! There was an issue with our original booking and they made it right with an actual upgrade ( we had to pay more ) but they gave us a great discount .The place could be so much more .We enjoyed the Western theme but wish it could’ve been more modern ie:the WiFi was impossible we always had to go closer to the office to get it which made it hard to plan your day the night before .

Overall we had a nice time. But … we had breakfast on Sunday morning and the waitress (short hair, blue shirt) was arguing with the cook. She proceeded to bash him to a customer … loudly. It made us feel so uncomfortable. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

**Terrible Experience – Avoid Buffalo Valley Ranch** I had a horrible experience with Buffalo Valley Ranch and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I booked a two-night stay through Expedia and arrived expecting a smooth check-in, only to be told they had no record of my reservation. To make matters worse, they had no vacancies and turned me away. After wasting time trying to fix THEIR mistake, I had to find another hotel at the last minute. Later, I discovered my credit card had been charged for the stay. When I called for a refund, they miraculously “found” my reservation but claimed I was a “no-show,” making it non-refundable! I understand policies for cancellations or no-shows, but I SHOWED — THEY failed to honor the booking. I contacted Expedia, but they could only confirm what the property said: non-refundable, and I had to deal directly with Buffalo Valley Ranch. Adding insult to injury, I checked their Better Business Bureau rating and found an F! Clearly, I wasn’t the first customer they’ve wronged. I’ve called multiple times, and each time I’m told management will respond, yet weeks have passed with no word. It’s clear this place doesn’t care about its customers or reputation. Save yourself the stress and money—avoid Buffalo Valley Ranch at all costs!

This is the worst experience our family has ever had when renting a place to stay. We arrived at our wagon and had to make our own beds. The headboard for one of the bunks was broken and on the floor upon arrival. I got splinters in my shirt as I tried to make the bed. The heater was broken, the zipper to close and secure our wagon (in bear country) was broken, the bathroom floors were covered in water and dirt, and the toilets were clogged. We had to sleep in a cold, open, dirty wagon. It would have been a better choice if we had slept in our car next to an outhouse. The next morning we complained about the bathroom conditions, the heater, and the zipper. They acknowledged they knew the zipper was broken and put us in that wagon anyway. They said they are a working horse ranch and can’t be expected to have perfectly clean bathrooms. They said they would have someone immediately clean the bathrooms, but an hour later they were still in the same unsanitary condition. We forgot to mention the broken headboard, and an hour later we had a $250 charge. When we called about it, they accused us of breaking the headboard and lectured us for not reporting it. They transferred us to the general manager, who said he would refund the $250. He lied and the charge has gone through. I purchased Expedia trip insurance for this stay, which just declined my request for help.

We set up a late check-in and when we arrived at the covered wagon, someone was already in there. We were forced to find another hotel at 1am and the ranch refused to comp it. Calling and emailing were extremely unhelpful. Would not recommend to anyone.

We booked this trip after reading tons of reviews and well aware of what to expect. Two adults and 3 young kids, booked a wagon. Kids loved the wagon and ranch atmosphere. The horseback ride was a nice experience as well. My 2-star rating is not due to the wagon but rather the very poor experience with ranch staff... Our wagon's front door only closed partially which caused it to get VERY cold at night. We notified the front desk staff several times and were promised they would address it but nothing was ever done. A temporary covering or seal would have helped a lot. Furthermore, we got yelled by a ranch manager for using a small gas stove outside to boil water for coffee and oatmeal. This older guy (who was also directing staff) got out of Land Cruiser in plain clothes, didn't introduce himself but yelled at our whole group, saying there was a burn ban we should have known about. Nothing was ever said about that when we checked in or was posted anywhere. The guy was super rude. The whole thing could have been communicated better and dealt with a lot more professionally. We'd likely stay here again given the convenient location (few other options this close to the park) but next time I'll go in with even lower expectations service-wise.

You do not want to stay here. Checkin took over an hour due to a mistake in the reservation, and rude/condescending staff created a very negative experience for our family. We cut out trip short and left after one night. Bathrooms are very run down and dirty. We did not know about the pet fee ahead of time and did not know ahead of time that cooking was not allowed.

Staying in a wagon was awesome, our kids loved the experience however I warn you to go to the restaurant they have. The people who worked there were absolutely awesome! We tried to order corn for our son two minutes past the cut off and the lady in the kitchen started screaming, and we could hear it from the restaurant.

We were put in wagon 2. Our heater was broken so we alerted the staff. They couldn’t fix it so they gave us two small space heaters. The lightbulbs then burnt out shortly after 10pm. We couldn’t find any staff. Then at midnight, all electricity went out in our unit so our space heaters no longer worked. It was 39 degrees outside so going without heat was not an option. My husband walked the property multiple times looking for an employee to no avail. We called the property number. No one picked up and the mailbox was full. My husband tried fixing the electricity himself , but couldn’t find a breaker box (assuming that was the problem). We ended up sleeping in the car after giving up at 1am.

we had driven from Ohio and were pretty tired upon arrival but had a nice meal and was able to book another night so we were able to enjoy hiking before leaving and finding a campsite. very nice staff.

This experience was as a highlight of our trip through the west. We stayed in the wagons and found them surprisingly large and comfortable.... They do nickle and dime you on food and sheets but if you know ahead of time you will have a great stay regardless... Bathroom cleanliness was satisfactory and reminded me of staying at the county fair grounds. The running of the horses was a highlight and should not be missed. Great place for sunset.

The view of the Tetons is amazing and the surrounding area is breathtaking! An added bonus for us city folk was watching the horses being corraled in the morning.

Fantastic stay!! The bathrooms were super clean. You get a fantastic view of the Grand Tetons. Super friendly staff.

It’s a wagon where we stayed and it was nice and warm and bathrooms/shower a walking distance. The Tetons were within view. Horses everywhere. Ranch style. Can’t complain. Food was great!

On our two day trip to Yellowstone National Park, we stayed in the Conastoga Wagons at Buffalo Valley Ranch. It’s about a 45 minute drive from the South Gate of Yellowstone and 7 minutes from Grand Teton National Park. It was very reasonably priced. The beds were comfortable, and the heater worked great. This is a rustic outdoor experience, and my kids loved it. It rained both nights we were there, so there can be some mud outside, but we stayed warm and dry. The nearby showers and restrooms are shared by other guests one guest at a time with locking doors. This was never a problem for us. The water was always hot, but if you are the first guest early in the morning- it takes a few minutes to warm up. Bring some flip flops for the shower. The onsite restaurant is similar to others in the area. We would stay there again.

The view and location is amazing if visiting Grand Tetons. We arrived as they were rounding up a bunch of horses and seeing them gallop through the ranch was amazing!! Think of this as one step above camping. The Conestoga wagons are close together and there is horse/dog feces all around the wagons so watch your steps. Shower/bathroom facilities are pretty gross. We arrived at 8 pm and left by 6 am, so only used it as a place to crash and move on during our vacation. Price was great for the location and convenience, but keep your expectations in check and it'll work.

The location was good but that’s about the only thing. It was a nice location to visit both Grand Teton and Yellowstone. The cafe had really provided no service but was terribly overpriced. We paid $84 for 3 kids burger meals and one adult burger meal, the plates had maybe 15 French fries and they included a 20% gratuity although they did not provide any service. We ordered at the counter and were not provided any refills on drinks either. The wagons were dirty and dusty, and way too close together. We could hear everything our neighbors said all night. The pillows and mattresses were flat, dirty and uncomfortable. The bath house was filthy. In the women’s side only one out of the three showers was functioning. The grassy areas around the wagons were not mowed or maintained which made it a breeding ground for mosquitos and other bugs.

Such a unique stay, we were upgraded from the teepee to the covered wagon for electricity, it also had a heater but we didn’t need - it got chilly but the blankets were warm enough. Had a good dinner with drinks at the onsite restaurant, very convenient! We were up and going too early to grab coffee.

We stayed in the covered wagons which was a very unique experience. The location is beautiful and watching the ranch hands bring the horses to and from their evening pasture was a great experience. However, be ready to bring your own bedding or pay extra to rent bedding. The shower/bathroom amenities could do with some improvements. Either eat before you arrive or be prepared to pay a 20% gratitude for everything ordered at the cafe, even though you are ordering from counter and not at your table. There is nothing notifying you of this charge until you get your bill.

The property is a horse ranch, so its dusty and noisy, which we had anticipated. The restaurant on site is very basic, not great and expensive.

You had to pay $3 for water and they automatically added a 16% tip to your meal but the only service you had was they brought the food to your table.

The view was amazing and the teepees were fun. But the rest of the experience could have been so much better. Check in was disorganized and the bedding we were given was wrong (just pillows) so we had to carry new bedding up the hillside again. The staff didn’t seem bothered to help at all. The restaurant had very limited choice and was way overpriced and understaffed. And in the three days we were there I saw the same discarded band aid and soap carton. The trash bin was overflowing and never emptied and I the men’s bathroom were shorts and towels that someone had left and were not removed. They charged $29 for bedding that was far too thin and the teepee was freezing cold. The teepee had an uncovered gravel floor that got dirt everywhere and the bed frame was sticking out as sharp metal. The camp claimed to run horses every night but that did not happen.
