Stayed for two nights at North Mountain View Suites, and it was easily the best stay we’ve had in our 14 day trip to Iceland! The rooms were beautifully furnished and extremely spacious, and there was plenty of space to park outside our cabin! We were here in November where temperatures were <0°C, so the heated floors were a very welcome feature. The kitchen was also very well equipped, complete with a cooking stove, oven, pots/pans, cutlery and a fridge freezer (be careful to air the room if you are cooking to prevent the smoke alarm from going off). There’s also a coffee maker, kettle, toaster. However, what we really sold us was the hospitable service! We had a little laundry situation, and even though they did not have any official laundry service, the staff working that day, Martin, offered to help us with it, and even settled it before the end of the night! Exceptional service, beautiful location, and a perfect place to watch the Northern Lights (accommodation is far enough from Akuyeri so light pollution is minimal).

This was our favorite place that we stayed in Iceland. Private hot tub overlooking a beautiful vista. Very comfortable and modern. It was compact, but very nicely appointed. The northern lights alluded us, but this would be a great place to see them. Less than a ten minute easy drive into town.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! It had a private hot tub as advertised which was wonderful. We saw the Northern lights every night we were here. No tours needed, just look out your window. It was appointed with a kitchen which we used on several occasions to get a break from the food prices lol. Overall a 10 star from me.

The property is in great condition and is fully equipped with a kitchen, an outdoor grill. Very good for a longer stay, we stayed over just one night and could t make the best out of it.

Excellent property; the best on our tour so far. Loved the hot tub and that robes were provided. Good kitchen facilities and comfy beds. So quiet! Only improvement would be to provide a drying rack for wet swimwear.

This was an amazing property! Everything about the room was very good. The hot tub made it extra special. We hope to visit Iceland again and see the contrast in Summer and would definitely stay here again!

We truly enjoyed our stay here. The room was modern, spacious, and very comfortable—it felt luxurious. The bed was firm yet cozy, and the view from the room was beautiful and unobstructed. We did encounter a small issue with the hot water, but it was resolved promptly by the staff. During our two-night stay, we were lucky enough to see the aurora borealis right from the property. The location was private and serene, and the hot tub on the patio was a wonderful bonus. Overall, this was a fantastic stay, and we would definitely return.

Amazing stay for our first time in Iceland, booked the room with a hot tub and it was definitely worth it! Full kitchen area to prepare meals was handy with a working oven and stove top. Bed was the comfiest we have ever slept on!! Clean and modern room with no issues at all! Very quite where the accommodation is located so would definitely recommend hiring a car to make your stay that much more enjoyable when driving to and from the town rather than paying for taxi’s which was around £20-£25 one way depending where you went into town. Couldn’t recommend this property highly enough, smooth check in with our passcode for the room key sent in good time before we checked in. Fresh towels, bath robes and coffee pods for the machine were dropped off every morning around 10-11am. The hot tub was perfect, lovely and warm and the view of the northern lights each night made it worth every penny, watching them from the hot tub! Will definitely be returning to this hotel!

This is a very modern property in a great location. It was very clean and had most things you would need. Communication was very good and the property is easy to find and access is via a key lock box. It had a couple of small issues, the toilet seat was loose, a couple of light bulbs were now working, the edging on the bathroom door was hanging off and there are no hooks or shelfs to put anything. These are all issues that could be sorted, but as we were only there for one night, we didn't worry about them. One big plus is the hot tub, it was great sitting out looking at the view and just relaxing after a days hiking. It was pouring with rain, but the hot tub is undercover. We stayed in a one bedroom unit, but it looked like the two bedroom hot tubes we not covered, so might be worth checking this. Would definitely stay again on our next trip to this amazing country.

Lovely location and really enjoyed having the privacy and access to the hot tub. Beds were also comfy. Sadly check-in and services really let this down. These are unstaffed, and the hotel that they are managed by had no on-site staff. upon arrival we had to ring a number of people to access the room and the check-in process we received was the out-of-hours experience. Additionally cleaning / refilling the room was not done despite a 3 night stay. We ran out of toilet roll and had to provide our own. And one small towel per person wasn't really adequate knowing people would regularly be using the hot tubs. A doormat would also help not tread ice into the room. For the price, we expect better service.

We LOVED this property! It was clean, tidy, and nicely decorated. The hot tub was an excellent size and temperature and situated with a beautiful view of the snowy mountains. Unfortunately we did not see the northern lights (visited in late December) here but we would definitely return to this accommodation if we were to visit the area again. The staff member on duty was also helpful and friendly :) The property could do with more storage for clothes, more shelves in the bathroom, possibly a dressing table with good lighting & places to hang coats and towels. The only downside to our stay was when the bathroom lightbulb exploded when I turned light on and pieces of glass were still present in the bathroom despite staff member clearing it with a dust pan and brush - a hoover would have been the safer option. Fortunately this happened on our final night though.

We had an overall enjoyable stay at North Mountain Suites. The location is fantastic—an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area. Our room was very comfortable, and it was a nice touch that we got fresh towels every day. However, a few areas could use improvement. The hot tub was a bit of a letdown; it seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly, leaving it slimy, which made us hesitant to use it for more than a few minutes. We also noticed that there was only one mirror available in the entire lodge, which made getting ready a bit challenging. The floor could have used a daily sweep, but there wasn’t a broom or cleaning supplies provided in the lodge, and housekeeping only swapped towels during our stay. With a little more attention to cleaning and amenities, this could easily be a top-notch place to stay!

Tolle Bungalows in der Anhöhe schräg gegenüber von Akureyri. Sehr neu, deshalb funktioniert noch nicht alles. Im Bad gab es eine Überschwemmung, weil das Duschwasser nicht schnell genug ablief. Es kam jemand mit Handtüchern zu Hilfe, sollte aber schnell repariert werden, es wurde bereits im Juli in einer anderen Bewertung erwähnt. Der Wasserhahn ist leider eine Fehlkonstruktion, viel zu lang, beim Händewaschen oder Zähneputzen gibt es die nächste Überschwemmung. Infos zu Wifi etc. fehlten, wurden aber schnell gebracht. Die neueren, oberen Deluxe Studios sind immer zwei nebeneinander gebaut. Wenn die Nachbarn laut sind, ist das leider unschön. Die unteren Studios sind größer und stehen alleine. Mir hat die Baustelle nichts ausgemacht, man schaut ja nach vorne in die Landschaft und nicht nach unten. Hot Pot war nicht ganz sauber

A large modern suite with a private balcony and hot tub with BEAUTIFUL views out over Akureyi and the fjord at approximately the same price that bought me very tiny rooms in other parts of Iceland. So all that is wonderful. But there were a few weird things. My check in instructions didn't arrive until around 3 a.m. my first night -- and manual check-in was a bit rough, with no one (at first) in the lobby at the adjoining hotel and confusion when I used the helpline provided. WiFi was great -- after I was first given the wrong code. And the cabin, while quite attractive, also had some weird smells because it was so new that there was still some paint and chemical odors in places. Also, a few weird design elements, like a bathroom sink whose faucet extends to the end of the basin, meaning water goes everywhere when you use it. All that said, this is an amazing place to stay that marks incredible value for Iceland.

Favourite place we stayed in all of Iceland. Hot tub was amazing, kitchen and bathroom amazing. Balcony/porch has a gorgeous view of the mountains. Only thing that could be better was the beds (although nice) were insanely soft and actually hurt the body after a couple nights but still appreciated them

A large modern suite with a private balcony and hot tub with BEAUTIFUL views out over Akureyi and the fjord at approximately the same price that bought me very tiny rooms in other parts of Iceland. So all that is wonderful. But there were a few weird things. My check in instructions didn't arrive until around 3 a.m. my first night -- and manual check-in was a bit rough, with no one (at first) in the lobby at the adjoining hotel and confusion when I used the helpline provided. WiFi was great -- after I was first given the wrong code. And the cabin, while quite attractive, also had some weird smells because it was so new that there was still some paint and chemical odors in places. Also, a few weird design elements, like a bathroom sink whose faucet extends to the end of the basin, meaning water goes everywhere when you use it. All that said, this is an amazing place to stay that marks incredible value for Iceland.

We booked 2 different units (kids vs. adults) and everyone had an amazing time. Sadly it didn't have laundry which would have been nice half-way through our trip but nor did they say it did so it's not a complaint, just a comment. Overall a great experience and you'll be impressed with the host, felt like they would do anything to make us happy and comfortable !

This is a very modern property in a great location. It was very clean and had most things you would need. Communication was very good and the property is easy to find and access is via a key lock box. It had a couple of small issues, the toilet seat was loose, a couple of light bulbs were now working, the edging on the bathroom door was hanging off and there are no hooks or shelfs to put anything. These are all issues that could be sorted, but as we were only there for one night, we didn't worry about them. One big plus is the hot tub, it was great sitting out looking at the view and just relaxing after a days hiking. It was pouring with rain, but the hot tub is undercover. We stayed in a one bedroom unit, but it looked like the two bedroom hot tubes we not covered, so might be worth checking this. Would definitely stay again on our next trip to this amazing country.

Stayed for two nights at North Mountain View Suites, and it was easily the best stay we’ve had in our 14 day trip to Iceland! The rooms were beautifully furnished and extremely spacious, and there was plenty of space to park outside our cabin! We were here in November where temperatures were <0°C, so the heated floors were a very welcome feature. The kitchen was also very well equipped, complete with a cooking stove, oven, pots/pans, cutlery and a fridge freezer (be careful to air the room if you are cooking to prevent the smoke alarm from going off). There’s also a coffee maker, kettle, toaster. However, what we really sold us was the hospitable service! We had a little laundry situation, and even though they did not have any official laundry service, the staff working that day, Martin, offered to help us with it, and even settled it before the end of the night! Exceptional service, beautiful location, and a perfect place to watch the Northern Lights (accommodation is far enough from Akuyeri so light pollution is minimal).

The view from your semi private deck with your very own hot tub are amazing in a country where the views are astounding. You are surrounded by majestic fjords, and overlooking the bay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The coffee maker supplied was a like having our very own coffee shop in the cabin. Highly recommend.

Arguably our favorite stay on Iceland. Views of Akureyri at night and mountains during the day. They have a fully equipped kitchen and a hot tub so you can cook dinner and enjoy a hot tub soak after. The room was clean and there was a large TV and check in instructions were easy. I would stay here again. The only thing is that the shower did not drain well and if they added a towel rack or more shelves, it would elevate the space as there was virtually no counter space in the bathroom. The drive into Akureyri for restaurants was a short 5-7 minute drive. Would recommend and would stay again.

Amazing! This place was incredible, the view was incredible. The hot tub was perfect temperature, the kitchen had everything you could need, and everyone gets a real bed (aka no couch beds). I would highly recommend this place.

Amazing stay for our first time in Iceland, booked the room with a hot tub and it was definitely worth it! Full kitchen area to prepare meals was handy with a working oven and stove top. Bed was the comfiest we have ever slept on!! Clean and modern room with no issues at all! Very quite where the accommodation is located so would definitely recommend hiring a car to make your stay that much more enjoyable when driving to and from the town rather than paying for taxi’s which was around £20-£25 one way depending where you went into town. Couldn’t recommend this property highly enough, smooth check in with our passcode for the room key sent in good time before we checked in. Fresh towels, bath robes and coffee pods for the machine were dropped off every morning around 10-11am. The hot tub was perfect, lovely and warm and the view of the northern lights each night made it worth every penny, watching them from the hot tub! Will definitely be returning to this hotel!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! It had a private hot tub as advertised which was wonderful. We saw the Northern lights every night we were here. No tours needed, just look out your window. It was appointed with a kitchen which we used on several occasions to get a break from the food prices lol. Overall a 10 star from me.

Wow! Beautiful place and it seems like they've thought of everything for the guest experience. We honestly did not want to leave. Beautiful view. We were fortunate to see the northern lights right from the hot tub as well! They had all the kitchen items you'd need, plus a grill that you can use right next to your hot tub.
