The views are amazing but there is not much to do as a visitor. This is more of a condo type of rental, with nothing on site but a nice pub 20 mins away and a town about 30 mins away/Langford. They would need to up the game with more concierge advice and a pool or other activities.

This cottage is basically an Air B&B. They ask you to take out the garbage and run the dishwasher before check out. Here are the pros and cons. Pro: great view Cons: No house keeping No dining options AT ALL No one on site after 5pm. No one to help you after 5pm. No decent grocery stores within 30 mins of driving. (There is one super tiny one 15 mins driving with very limited choice.) No access to anything else like access to water or amenity (gym require daily fee) Construction happening that is quiet but did distracted some views. In conclusion, we won’t be coming back as it was extremely inconvenient and all it provided was great view. It may work for someone but with 2 kids and senior family members it was not great for us.

very beautiful views, nice trail near the property. Nowhere to eat, everything was 30-45 mins away on a very windy road. The place is heavily under construction which was not posted. The TV did not work properly and the fireplace gave off zero heat...just for show. Fridge leaked and the bedroom and bathroom doors squeaked alot, which woke up people

The unit and location are stunning! we loved the view and the floor to celling windows. We had everything we needed for a great stay. visually the surrounding property is not at is best as it’s under construction which was loud when we were in the parking lot but not an issue in unit or on balcony. It was quite a hike from the city on a beautiful but windy road.

Sookepoint OceanCottage Resort and spent 2 nights from May.31st-June2nd. We booked it through expedia which nothing indicated this resort is fully under construction, unfinished driveway, dusty environment, heavy equipments, noisy….. we were shocked upon arrival and felt that we will stay this construction site for a “vacation” To make things even worse, the on-site manager assigned us a room 5A next to construction site, and ask us to park car far away from our unit because there are so many contractor's cars there… Also, our room needed to climb three flights of stairs, we asked to change for easier access room because we have 70 senior parents but the manager simply told us she was unable to switch a room for us. In the room, this ocean view suite has extremely dirty window…. Also, even no patio chairs, we asked if possible to bring a couple then we can sit outside to enjoy the Oceanview, again the manage denied this request. This is extremely disappointing to us and very unprofessional overall.

We went for Thanksgiving and had a beautiful dinner with the amazing view. It was cozy, warm and just a nice family time. Staff was available during the day for questions and access to the gym. A nice hike was close by.

The property was gorgeous and the views were absolutely spectacular. The condo (a one bedroom, bay view) was large, comfortable and spotlessly maintained. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with every tool and appliance a cook might need, which was a refreshing change. Pods were supplied for the washing machine, dishwasher and Keurig (I would have appreciated a decaf pod, but I’m still splitting hairs). It was very quiet despite being on the bottom floor. There were a bunch of steep steps to access it, which we were not aware of before our arrival. As others have noted, it is a 40 minute drive to Sooke, so we were happy to watch the stormy weather and cuddle by the fire. We will definitely return.

Although it was a little far to drive from Victoria, we had a great time with our stay. It was a very nice place with a beautiful ocean view. The unit we stayed in had many amenities to include three TVs, two fireplaces, and power blinds. The kitchen was fully equipped. We had good communications and an easy check in. love it!

This was a getaway for my wife and I and it was fantastic. Serene and beautiful setting. Very quiet, with a beautiful fireplace and a full kitchen. Washer and dryer came in handy after the one rainy day we faced. Staff was very welcoming and helpful.

The scenery here is absolutely beautiful, and I really like the environment. My kids and parents love it. However, I am not satisfied with the front desk service and the unreasonable policy of having to fill out forms again after booking a room in advance and they didn’t mention about early checking in fee when I booked the room. I am a single mother traveling with my parents and two children. I need to make all preparations before departure, including hotels and itineraries. This hotel did not mention that I would need to pay $50 if I arrived before the designated check-in time when I made the reservation. I did call before check-in, but no one answered the phone. The front desk was only doing what they considered to be their duty, without considering personal circumstances or my feedback. After driving, taking a ferry, and driving on mountain roads, I was already exhausted. Therefore, I had no choice but to pay the $50 at 2:00 PM. When I booked the room, I clearly stated my requirements: two extra pillows and blankets. No one responded to me. However, when I checked in, the front desk informed me that they did not have any extra items, only the fixed allotment for each room.

Our stay was very disappointing. Check-in was at 4 PM, but our room wasn’t ready until 9 PM—five hours later—affecting several other guests too. The hotel has about a dozen rooms and was fully booked before a busy long weekend, but this delay was unacceptable. When we checked in at 7:06 PM, Trixie was rude and unhelpful, responding to questions with “I don’t know” and shoulder shrugs. She even said she couldn’t contact housekeeping because “they will get mad at me.” There was no place for guests to wait inside, and many waited in cars or other rooms. We were among the first to arrive but the last to get a room. Our room had multiple small issues, and when we sought help, we got an automated message saying no one was available. High quality accommodation - new, modern, clean and extremely comfortable. The ocean views through the huge picture windows, which open on to the balcony, are sublime. If we return to the area we would be keen to stay here again. Christie was helpful, both before and during our stay. She even waited a short time after the end of her work shift to welcome us, for which we were very grateful.

We only didn’t like the property because, even after pre booking 24 hours before, we were not allowed to check in property, because there was no staff available at site, we had to look for an other hotel, in deep alone area with 2 kids in night time, we have to spend 300$ extra, because hotel manager Christy refused to take us in. Please think 2 times before booking this property

Although it was a little far to drive from Victoria, we had a great time with our stay. It was a very nice place with a beautiful ocean view. The unit we stayed in had many amenities to include three TVs, two fireplaces, and power blinds. The kitchen was fully equipped. We had good communications and an easy check in. love it!

Sadly got the smallest unit with limited views but lovely location for hiking. Bring what you need, it’s a long drive back to Sooke for supplies. Still under construction some noise in the am and lots of construction workers and equipment.

The unit and location are stunning! we loved the view and the floor to celling windows. We had everything we needed for a great stay. visually the surrounding property is not at is best as it’s under construction which was loud when we were in the parking lot but not an issue in unit or on balcony. It was quite a hike from the city on a beautiful but windy road.

Breathtaking view of sunset — stormy and visceral. Bring your own groceries for the entire stay as it’s a remote area. Hiked to Iron Bay by foot twice during stay. Not much else but the views, which are enough for me.

The views are amazing but there is not much to do as a visitor. This is more of a condo type of rental, with nothing on site but a nice pub 20 mins away and a town about 30 mins away/Langford. They would need to up the game with more concierge advice and a pool or other activities.

This cottage is basically an Air B&B. They ask you to take out the garbage and run the dishwasher before check out. Here are the pros and cons. Pro: great view Cons: No house keeping No dining options AT ALL No one on site after 5pm. No one to help you after 5pm. No decent grocery stores within 30 mins of driving. (There is one super tiny one 15 mins driving with very limited choice.) No access to anything else like access to water or amenity (gym require daily fee) Construction happening that is quiet but did distracted some views. In conclusion, we won’t be coming back as it was extremely inconvenient and all it provided was great view. It may work for someone but with 2 kids and senior family members it was not great for us.

The resort located on a beautiful shore of the bay. You will definitely enjoy the terrific ocean views and sunsets and, if you’re lucky, the wildlife. Our unit was in a great condition, equipped with a full kitchen, tub+shower bathroom, a balcony, and floor-to-ceiling triple glass sliding doors with gorgeous view. It is definitely an ideal place to relax and enjoy the nature. The stuff was very polite and really helpful with all our questions. The check in and check out were quick and simple. The only downside we found during our stay was a total absence of any eatery on the site. So, when you go, don’t forget to grab groceries or be prepared to drive to the closest town to get yourself some food :).

This is the absolute most beautiful place I have ever stayed. I know it’s a bit far out there but sooo worth it! If they added some amenities to the property, it would be a place I would Love to go back to for a lot longer !
