Johnson's Beach Cabins and Campground

This was the cutest cabin! Had just about everything (except hand soap inThe bathroom and a coffee maker) But comfy king bed, roomy shower, Adorable! And Chris, who checked us in was the best! Property is having some construction.

We stayed in a teeny-tiny cabin. Nice shower with nice products. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Nice bed! Two burner stovetop and mini fridge. Fire pit and picnic bench in front of each cabin. Just a few steps to Johnson’s Beach. Just a few blocks from Safeway and restaurants. La Bodeguita Mexican restaurant is a MUST. Property manager Chris is very kind and helpful.

We stayed in a bungalow. Clean, very comfortable bed and bedding. Plenty of new clean towels. A little more rustic than we anticipated, no screens on windows and no air conditioning so it was pretty warm inside when we checked in. It does cool down fairly quickly so with the oscillating van they provided and the ceiling fan we slept well. Be ready for quick temperature changes in the shower. If you want river/beach access it would be a great choice.

No tv, no coffee, no closet, no nothing.

Filthy construction site and dumpster outside our door. Thankfully, the hotel immediately offered us a refund when we saw the state of the property. Still waiting for a refund of our reward points from Expedia.

Very friendly staff at check in. we loved being able to have our Dogs with us. this location is both right on the river and walk able to all the restaurants and shops in town.

Nice campground.

It has been many years since I’ve stayed at Johnson’s Beach (I still frequent the beach yearly) & the bungalows have clearly been updated. The bed was comfortable. However, the water temp in the shower fluctuated between cold & scalding hot. My left arm was red due to the hot temp. I chose not to bathe my 6 year old as I was concerned the same would happen to her. Our bungalow did not have an area rug as shown on the website photos & I think having one would’ve greatly helped with the cold morning temperature as the flooring has open slits allowing cold air to seep in. There was a wall heater, however it did not seem to be working. I ran the scalding hot shower to help heat the room. All in all, I would stay here again, you can’t beat the proximity, but I would be more prepared for the cold & would probably use the camping showers (hopefully they don’t have the same issue).

The area around the site is sketchy at night, so just be mindful walking around at night time, especially with kids. Now, the cons: Paper thin walls: honestly felt like our neighbors were in our cabin. I could hear every single word that they said, and they happened to have a screaming toddler and baby. That part isn't the site's fault, but it was so loud and awkward. We heard every snore and bathroom trip. Bed- it was old and not comfy in the cabin, I think maybe the beds are newer in the glamping tents and tiny cabins. They may be better, but our bed in arguably the best cabin was old, creaky, and not comfy. Cleanliness- they wipe off the tops of the drawers and kitchen maybe, but there wasn't any dusting and the pillowcases had stains. Shower- I was having a great shower until I heard a random knocking sound and then scalding hot water, not once but twice. Overall, we had the best cabin with great location and views, but we would never stay there again. Since the tiny cabins are separated from their neighbors and are newer so may be more comfy, I'd try this place again just based on the staff and location.

Pretty views and nearby restaurants. I suggest bringing shower toiletries in case they run out and earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

There was no one to ask questions or to call, all of our windows were left open, the front door curtain was broken so I had to lean a bag on it to have any privacy and our bed was so uncomfortable it was hard to sleep.

I like how it’s situated close to the water and the ability to walk to restaurants and grocery store. I didn’t feel comfortable that the deadbolt didn’t work on the entry door or that the curtains didn’t close enough for privacy. As a single female alone I felt uneasy at night. Overall wonderful place to stay. Great staff. Thank you.

However, the seating in the kitchenette was in a state of disrepair and potentially dangerous with sharp nails exposed when placing your weight on the "bench". Also the shower became scalding hot whenever someone else on the property flushed or used the cold water(?). These 2 criticisms are worth mentioning mostly because of the luxury level prices we paid for our unit. For the $360 per night cost for our stay, we should have had a room that was not in disrepair. Also worth mentioning the "campers" on the property were quite rowdy and loud during our stay. Obviously a great location right by Johnson\'s Beach.

I wanted to love this place and it has a lot going for it, especially the location and variety of accommodation options. Unfortunately, in our historic cabin the mattress and bed frame was terrible and almost impossible to sleep on. Such a bummer because the parachute bedding was great!! You can also hear everything your neighbors are doing as the walls are super thin, but a sound machine can help with that. We ended up leaving a night early instead of facing another sleepless night. Super cute location and everyone was very nice and accommodating. I would definitely visit again if I knew the mattress got an upgrade.

The two double bed cottage is actually a duplex with very thin walls. My family had to listen to the men next door having s*x all night. Not fun.

Loved the tiny home we rented! So close to the water and the Main Street in town. Chris was super friendly and helpful. Check in/out were easy and convenient. Will definitely be back.
