Just a bad experience. Would not stay here again. Too far away from where you want to be! Checked in at 11 am and at 7:30 pm they finally changed my room bc the ac didn’t work. Multiple calls to get this resolved. Had a view of the pool but moved me to a suite with a small pool and no view. Was a downgrade as far as I was concerned. The excursion I booked through the hotel a month ago was cancelled and I first found out at 5:00 am the morning I was to go on it. They booked me on another excursion instead that day. It was ok but not what I signed up for.

The hotel lobby is nice and the stores are beautifully decorated. The room was nice and clean but had wacky design and bulky grandma arm chairs which took away the beauty of the room. The staff at the adult pool were nice and friendly. Their Black Ginger restaurant is overrated and overpriced, especially for Thai dishes. Breakfast had many food options but the quality was okay. Overall, the resort is beautiful but has no private beach.

This was our sixth stay at The Slate, and once again we loved the hotel and its friendly staff. A few minor points: dinner at Tin Mine was disappointing and not up to its usual standard, the gym is slightly worn and could use updates like new treadmills, and the “adults-only” pool had limited seating, with many loungers reserved by absent guests. A simple system where loungers are assigned at check-in could improve this. Overall, we were very satisfied and will definitely return.
