Easy walk to V&A waterfront. Lovely view of working harbour. V safe underground parking and direct access to hotel. Late dining. Room service excellent. Pool deck small but v private (though looses sun by 2pm.) Staff most helpful! Hard to find on first arrival (unless on shuttle). Access via "CTICC P1" entrance & underpass. Signage needed!!

Great hotel for business or personal reasons! Excellent location to the city and a shuttle that runs multiple times a day free of charge. The food and service is very good and the rooms are clean and very spacious (just make sure your room is 3rd floor or higher otherwise you’ll have no view)! All in all a fantastic stay and would stay here again

1. NB you will get hit for additional parking costs. 2. There are views of the harbour if you blank out the containers 3. V&A Waterfront is not within walking distance, but they do provide shuttles, but only until 20h00 4. It is clean and well serviced. 5. Breakfast is ok, just the koki pen dish labelling on the counters is quite tacky 6. Difficult to locate if travelling alone, basically go through the CITCC parking lot It’s ‘ok’

Great hotel located 15 minutes walk from The V&A Waterfront. Safe to walk during the day, need transport evenings and night. The hotel provide shutle bus and boat. Nice hotel, clean, friendly staff and great food - but if you want a pool and sun it's in the shadow most of the day. The gym could be better equiped. We enjoyd a week at the hotel but needed to book a Beach Club to enjoy a day at the pool side

While the location looks like it's nearby to attractions, it's actually all fenced off. It becomes a 30 min walk to get to the waterfront. After that 1.5 mile walk, would appreciate water in the lobby. Otherwise, stay was good. Excellent breakfast selection. Decent gym. Rooms spacious and clean. Would stay in the actual waterfront area next time

This was a great location before getting on the cruise. Its right there! I'm a lil Ocd when it comes to clean before I relax in a room. I use Clorox wipes for everything I will touch! from the door to windows. Me and a friend tag team the room and there was literally no dirt on the wipes! do you know how rare that is?! The cleaning services there is amazing!

Absolutely fantastic breakfast buffet. Nice relaxing area for drinks/tapas. Spacious clean & secure room with view of Table Mountain. Pick-up airport service (booked through hotel but not included in room rate) was efficient and friendly. The hotel is a long & somewhat complicated walk from the V&A waterfront and the cruise terminal. The free boat-shuttle to the waterfront was not operating because it was too windy, and the free shuttle bus schedule was not convenient for our schedule, so we ended up using a taxi service to both. If you are looking for a premium upscale property, this is not that. However, for its class, I give it five stars and would happily stay there again.

We stayed at the AC Hotel for a quick weekend in CT. The hotel staff are pleasant, the food served was really good, and the hotel itself is spotlessly clean with modern amenities. The room was lovely and spacious and we stayed in a corner room. The hotel itself was also a relatively cost effective choice. It is located about a 2,5km or 20 minute walk to the V&A Waterfront. So, not too far, but if you want to be close to the V&A waterfront, my recommendation would be to choose a closer hotel, understanding that it will be more expensive. That being said, this hotel does offer a shuttle service and a boat service to the V&A Waterfront every 2 hours, so if you can schedule your plans around that, or you don't mind walking along the picturesque canals, you are all set. On the Saturday morning, there was a long queue for breakfast, and it didn't seem like the hotel had enough capacity to manage the number of guests that had arrived for breakfast at the same time; people were asked to wait and couldn't be given a time of how long they would be expected to wait. Despite this, I would stay here again.

Das Hotel verspricht genau das, was man auf den Bildern auch zu sehen bekommt. Saubere, große Zimmer mit gemütlichen Bett und ausreichend Platz für Koffer. Zudem ist das Bad sehr sauber und die die Dusche im einwandfreien Zustand. Sehr guter wifi Empfang (überall im Hotel) und schöne Aussicht auf den Lions Head (je nach Zimmerauswahl). Fitnessraum völlig ausreichend, Frühstücksbuffet inkl a la carte sehr ausgiebig und lecker. Kann das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen !

It was for a leisurely stay and in a quieter part of the waterfront which was ideal for me. Good size bedroom overlooking the working harbour. Great views. Bathroom is a good size. Comfortable large bed with soft bedding.

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were nice and clean, and the bar area was enjoyable. Restaurant had great food. Get the Mozambique shrimp! Great views of Table Mountain from our room. Not much immediately next to the hotel but a short walk to the V&A Wharf and there is a water taxi directly in back to take you there. Also UBER came quickly.

Not being right on the waterfront - and having to Uber there and back at night, rather than walk - is a little frustrating, but other than that this hotel was perfect. Rooms are huge and tasteful, everything is spotlessly clean and the staff are exceptional - pleasant and efficient service at every encounter.

Large room horrible house keeping.friendly staff Upon check-in, staff noted we are assigned waterfront view room unfortunately our view was railway track, ship containers/dock. At 4am we could hear container noises being moved around.VA waterfront is 25-30 minutes walking distance and not safe even at daytime especially walking through canal walkways. Yes we did get followed by a young man asking for money. I cancelled my previous reservation at different hotel and booked AC marrriot for almost double the cost hoping for waterfront view and closer: safer to VA waterfront,Big Mistake…Hotel is located at a secluded area and definitely need transportation to get around.

A generally fine hotel but inconvenient unless your plans are mostly the convention center, and service hit and miss. Not convenient to the waterfront and with limited shuttles. It’s walkable but not after dark. The staff are hit and miss. When we checked in, the desk clerk seemed to be upset to be working on Christmas. We’d booked separately one night from a separate booking of three additional nights. Because my husband booked the one night directly thru the Marriott site and it didn’t show him the quantity of guests at booking, she charged us an additional 150 USD to add the second guest. She delivered overall info in a very unclear manner and then gave us a room on the lowest guest floor directly next to the elevator. After seeing the room and thinking of four nights there, we went back down and asked a different desk clerk for a different room — which she happily provided, in a higher floor and much further away from the elevator. Concierge will only do as much as you ask and nothing further, even with a tip. That was disappointing — we ended up figuring things out on our own but could have been better helped with service. Breakfast is good and waitstaff/bartenders very friendly. Rooms lack robes and hair dryers.

We had a semi long stay at the AC, it was wonderful, from the reception staff, to the tour advisors to the in room dining, to the morning breakfast staff, everyone is just wonderful and attentive. They are super polite and caring and helpful beyond normal. Would 100% recommend

Some hotels get it right — and the AC Marriott is absolutely one of them. Across the globe, this brand delivers consistent quality with beautiful rooms and thoughtful amenities. But what truly stood out on this stay was the staff in Cape Town — exceptional in every way. Warm, professional, attentive… they elevated an already great experience into something memorable. Highly recommend.

Staff was judicious, helpful and friendly. It was clean and plenty of little niceties like iced tea in the lobby along with little sweet gelatin bits. (I don’t like them, but the gesture was good). When you asked for something for the room, it was delivered quickly.

AC Hotel is excellent in all categories except for the location. We booked it because we thought it was close to the V&A Waterfront. However we were told repeatedly by the hotel staff that walking there is unsafe outside of busy hours of the day. Also note that Google Maps shows a circuitous walking route that takes half hour. You can cut it in half by taking a walkway along the canal along the back of the Canal Quays Apartments. We did that during the day and took Uber in the evening; it costs less than $3 from the Waterfront.

The hotel itself is clean, and the common areas are well maintained. One thing to keep in mind is that the location is quite remote — it’s not walkable to any nearby attractions or shops, so transportation is necessary to get around. Overall, it’s a nice property

Our stay at the hotel was amicable, unfortunately when booking it states that it is on the waterfront - what is not noted is that it is quite far from the waterfront and there is not an easy access route for driving or walking to the waterfront. With a young family the rooms were adjoining, however breakfast was interesting. As a family of 5 it’s not great when servers communicate very openly to one another about a table being free or not, this could have been done in a different manner, to top it off we got give a squished table and 5 sitting as it was convenient instead. At least a dish was broken by a server daily and it is not child friendly. Many times an order repeated for a drink, or forgotten and reminded, the fruit was semi frozen and as a bonus the cereal was stale. There is no mention of room service in the room, until you walk down and ask and when the food did come it was cold. Our biggest issue was the walk to the waterfront, coming back after 8pm - you have to walk around not along the canal which is already a 20/25 min walk. The beds were comfortable and the staff were friendly and the room was always clean.

This property is listed as a VC Waterfront hotel. However, it is a 15-20 minute walk to the central VC Waterfront district. It's a nice walk, but the gate to the walkway closed at 8:00 pm so be mindful of this when venturing out. Breakfast was nice and convenient.

The hotel staff is very polite and welcoming. However, despite the name ‘Waterfront,’ the location is somewhat misleading. While Maps view might give the impression that it’s close to the V&A Waterfront, it’s actually around a 20-minute walk, as the direct route is blocked by a container port, train tracks, and fencing. This isolation, along with the views of industrial activity, makes the hotel feel quite cut off from the vibrant V&A area. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend staying here if easy access to the Waterfront is important.

The AC Mariott was exceptionally clean, the facility was well kept and the staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent providing a wide range of food items to choose from. We had dinner one night at the hotel, and the food was excellent. The only drawback was finding the hotel, missed the road a couple of times. Also offering a shuttle to the V&A waterfront more frequently would be helpful.

Great experience, lovely hotel with great friendly staff. Only little issues to stop this being top score, had to get a taxi to the V&A in the evenings and most days 20-30 min walk and the buffet hot food was always cool to cold.
