Locked in during the Typhoon. Hotel is older but well maintained. Had water come into the room from the storm but minor. Overall a classy place. Junior staff could do with some training as they are too often looking at their phone screens rather than attending to customers. Again overall a very nice place to stay. Oh and location is PERFECT.

This is an old hotel in an old district. There are renovated rooms (cleaner) on higher floors, but be aware the cheap ones are not. I originally booked the cheap room and it was a huge disappointment. The room was small and not clean. There was a pubic hair on the bath tub and the water did not drain correctly. I ended up paying more to upgrade my room. The “newly” renovated room was much cleaner. If you have stayed in another regular standard Shangri-La, don’t expect this one would be the same.

Huge disappointment given its Shangri la logo. Very outdated inside out. Shower set didn’t function properly. Room toilet trash bin was left unattended for days. The cleaning staff threw away all my shaver accessories. Lots of smoking smell inside the hotel and along the corridor.

Location was excellent, just across the street from Luohu station and is close to metro lines. Check in receptionist was great and lobby personnel Kiki is excellent to help guests with finding locations and transportation options. Rooms are clean and spacious. We didn’t have a chance to try their restaurants but heard good things about them.

The front desk was just okay. The clerk at the coffee was lousy. Didn't really want to serve coffee. How ever the floor manager "Henry Wang" at the front lobby was beyond outstanding.

Very convenient location, clean and spacious room, excellent service from staffs, good breakfast variety. Overall a very pleasant and decent hotel. One issue was that my booking is for 3 people in executive suite and I messaged the hotel beforehand to confirm an extra bed will be added, which the hotel manager assured me the room will be prepared accordingly. However, at check in, front desk didn't see any instructions on adding a bed, and my room was not prepared to accommodate 3. Although upon calling house keeping, the staffs immediately came and added the bed, and provided another set of amenities, I am disappointed that my room was not prepared as per booking details, especially when I had contacted the hotel beforehand to reconfirm. I expect better level of service and attention to details from a 5-stars renowned hotel chain.

Very convenient if you are coming from Hong Kong. If you have the intention to travel to Guangzhou after your stay in Shenzhen this hotel would be perfect as it is very near to the railway station. The only downside is that the hotel is a little old.

Quite disappointing for a Shangri-La hotel. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not feel up to the standard I normally associate with the Shangri-La brand. Communication with the staff was sometimes difficult, especially in English. What bothered me most, however, was the lack of organisation at reception. There did not seem to be a proper queuing system. Even when you were clearly waiting, other guests would come after you and be assisted first, sometimes repeatedly. This made the experience quite frustrating. For me, service is one of the most important parts of a hotel stay. A hotel can have beautiful rooms and facilities, but if the service does not feel welcoming, friendly and well organised, it really affects the whole experience. The hotel itself also feels like it could benefit from some upgrading and renovation. Overall, this was below what I expected from Shangri-La, and unfortunately I don’t think I would choose to stay at this particular hotel again.
