I enjoyed my stay. I was within walking distance to places s that were of interest to me. The parking situation could have been better. There is not very many spaces; however, the hotel was full.

No safe in room. When we called to ask about it, we were told that there should be one in the room, but maybe "something happened" and there wasn't one. Bathroom pocket door wouldn't stay closed, we had to prop it with a towel which didn't quite work. Room was humid and muggy no matter how high we cranked the air. Room was run- down and visibly stained, with peeling wallpaper and stained seats. The room had a smell like animals had stayed there recently. Hotel employees were not very friendly, and breakfast attendant was visibly irritated with people getting breakfast. Couldn't use the pool because it was constantly overrun by screaming people running and jumping and splashing excessively.

Fantastic property, clean and friendly. Walking distance to the pool for our swim meet and plenty of dining choices in the area. Being a college town, there are a variety of bars and adult entertainment places too which lead to a seedier clientele on the streets after dark but the hotel is maintained and secure with attentive staff and brightly lit outside areas. We will be back!

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, but I wish I had known how loud the area is before staying here. Between the regular trains, cars on the street, and people shouting, I essentially paid a hefty price to get some of the worst sleep I’ve ever had. The room itself was dated and in need of repair. The bathroom doors did not stay closed and much of the furniture was ripped or stained. In addition to the room issues, the pool was ice cold and a disappointment for the kids. I had high hopes for the hotel after staying in another Home2 Suites just days earlier, but this one was a letdown, and we won’t be back.

Stayed here for a funeral so obviously not going in for fun. Modern property but you can tell its in a college town: scuffs along hallway walls, etc but our room was clean. Pillows & mattress way too soft for my liking, but some might like it. The man who runs the breakfast area is a hard worker. Kept it filled and clean. Theres cute areas to sit outside but there were ALWAYS smokers...its 2023! Why so many smokers? Should be a designated area to smoke. Pool was clean. A bit pricey for the area its in which is a slightly suss run-down downtown area near SIU. Id stay in this concept in another area.

Overall, this was a fine stay and the location is incredibly convenient, especially if you’re using Amtrak. Being directly across the street made getting in and out super easy. The room itself was decent and met basic expectations. That said, there was a faint cigarette smell in my room the entire time, which was hard to ignore. At night there was also a constant clicking noise that kept waking me up, which made it tough to get good rest

I always stay here when in Carbondale . It is near the train station and downtown Carbondale. The staff is very helpful and the hotel is exceptionally clean.

Our room lacked cleanliness. There was dirt in the corners and m&m’s next to the wine fridge. The hotel seems to have a lot of wear and tear. The cabinet in the hallway next to the elevator on the second floor had dings and dents. The doors to all the rooms need a fresh coat of paint.

Home2Suites is just across the street from the Carbondale Amtrak station. So it's very convenient for train travel. The breakfast is outstanding and the coffee is good. The room was so spacious that it was almost like having two rooms.

The reason we stayed here was very close access to the Amtrak station. The hotel is allowing us to park in their fenced parking lot while we are gone. Our room was extremely nice and clean with a full size refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. It is like an apartment. We have already booked for another trip.

This was an enjoyable stay. The suite had all the necessary amenities I didn't expect or know we needed, like dishes and dish detergent. They even supplied paper towels. The breakfast was adequate. The turkey bacon was limp and too salty. Regular bacon and sausage should have been offered daily. The worst part of the room was the sofabed. It was extremely dated in appearance and was unbearably uncomfortable. It took housekeeping until the evening hours to attend to our room.

Breakfast was excellent, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The room we stayed in had thin carpet with not much padding and the sounds of people walking on other floors echoed. The bathroom door, a pocket door, did not lock and slid back into the wall, providing no privacy, and the bathroom fan did not work. Also, the Amtrack station across the street has an activity at 11 pm, 2 am, and 6 am which much tooting. No fault can be found with the hotel for the adjacent bar, which had a loud outdoor music performance, until 11:30 pm

Property was nice and clean. Staff seemed unsure of a lot and would not give direct answers. Even checking in they said they had to see if they had a room available and made me wait 10 minutes…I had a reservation…?! I called for extra pillows for the couch pull out bed and their answer was that they had to see if any were available. They did show up with them eventually.

Front desk staff was the best at check in. Super friendly and accommodating. We needed to have an email printed and the lobby printer was not working correctly. The two ladies were super helpful and printed the two pages out for us, so we could attend my son’s college tour without any problems. Thank you so much!

The property was a 9/10, the only tik against it is that it’s across from an Amtrak station. Trains were going by all night and honking their horns. I’m from NYC and used to noise but it was a bit much even for me. Thankfully they offer earplugs! Staff was great, room was very clean, breakfast was better than most. Would choose this place again.

There is a bad smell once you enter the hotel and also in the room. I recommend to remove carpet from the room to keep it clean. One washer didn't work and the other one was used by another clinent and didn't remove their clothes and the staff did not take the initiative to remove the cloths. Breakfast was not healthy at all. The beds are queen size which is not good for couple. Paying over 150 dollars a night for 3 nights is outrageous with this kind of hotel. We will not stay their again.
