Maldà Singular Hotel was very central to the tourist area of Barcelona in a vibrant area full of markets, restaurants, cafes, tapas bars, etc and close to all the tourist buses. However, when you enter the hotel on the second floor, it's so peaceful that you would never know about the hustle and bustle outside. The hotel is really well appointed, the staff are very helpful, the beds extremely comfortable and the shower hot and plentiful. And the hotel is very accessible. The staff organised a taxi to pick us up from the laneway outside the hotel. We will definitely recommend this property.

Excellent location. The property is newly renovated, so everything works well including air conditioning and sound proofing. Staff were always present at the front desk. The hotel is located above a busy mall. Gothic area is right downstairs, with busy Ramblas just minutes away. Would stay here again.

Awesome little hotel in a great location, very clean, great service, comfy bed and a nice little lounge area with an honesty bar. Hard to fault any part of the stay really, except perhaps that their water fountain was a bit temperamental so we couldn't get fresh water a couple of the days. Otherwise perfect!

Con: Air Conditioning was not great. I had the thermostat set to 18 to 20 C (64 to 68 F) the whole time, but the room only cooled down to 25.5 to 26.5C (78 to 80 F) with humidity, so it felt warmer. Would be worse if warmer outside. Only reason not 5 stars. Pros: Everything else. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Yana helped point things out on a map she gave us, helped arrange a taxi ride, and was generally friendly. I don't remember the others' names. Great, private location in the heart of the Gothic district. Good, simple breakfast. Quiet rooms. Small rooftop terrace access. I'd stay there again if not summertime.

Small rooms but comfortable and well maintained, very good location, there is room service but from an outside service. On second floor above a mall but very secure, need access code to use elevator and get in after 21:00, not all taxis go right to door, we had to walk in from La Rambla but got a taxi to door when we checked out

Great place to stay! Half of what makes this a boutique hotel is how hard it is to find. We arrived at night and walked by it at least 6 times. It is on the second story of a mall that was locked at night.

Very quiet, access was a little strange (elevator with code plus a code to get to the elevator if gates were locked) but once we did it once, it was easy. Location fantastic but must be good with walking since you cannot just grab a taxi outside. Style of hotel was very nice and the rooms comfortable.

The air condition stopped working they gave me an option to change the room for a smaller one and that they can refund the price difference or they can give us a fan for the night. There was a lot of moist on the ceiling of the bathroom! Rust behind the sink! And the door for the shower doesn’t close well there are missing joints so a lot of water came all out on the floor. I do not recommend!

Our hotel stay was fabulous! Housekeeping was wonderful, hotel was spotless. The location was perfection, close walk to all the best attractions and restaurants. We especially loved the coffee and cucumber water in the lobby. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations. I would definitely stay here again.

Poor quality and 1st impression when we entered our room, there were a lot of hair under the blanket on the bed sheets from the previous guests. The hotel itself is inside a mall and you'd need to go through the mall to enter the hotel. Overall we don't recommend this hotel.

The hotel was perfect for a quick weekend! It was clean and safe. My only negative was the ac never fully worked but they made us aware of the issue and gave us specifically the coldest room. Also to note there was some mold visible in the shower. Other than that they were lovely, amazing location and the staff was friendly!

Our stay was lovely. Somewhat of a disappointment in the room - no place to sit, to set a suitcase to unpack and limited hooks in the room to hang things. I realize the size is limited but not having a chair to sit on to put on shoes seemed extreme.

Stayed here during the end of May and it was very expensive (~$800 for 3 nights) for what we got. We paid for a deluxe room and it was a tiny room (no couch or sitting area). Luckily my husband and I only had backpacks and two carry on suitcase but it wasn’t what we were expecting. In addition, the bathroom shower had mold everywhere in the grout and the light was broken in the shower our entire stay. Service wise, the staff is very nice and can help answer questions. It’s not a traditional hotel and they call themselves a boutique so there’s only usually 1 person available to chat with unless there’s a shift change. There can be a wait to ask questions. Other than the room and service, it’s located in the Gothic Quarters or old area of Barcelona and easily walkable or hop on public transportation. There are a lot of restaurants around the hotel and at night time, it’s very safe and they lock the gates so you need a code to get in.

Do not be misled by the reviews - the air conditioning doe not function sufficiently at this hotel! Room set to 18 but never went below 26. Outside temp at night 26/ day max 33. Staff just shrugged shoulders and said it is a ‘bad installation’. Did get a fan, but no help. Otherwise, room was clean, small [as expected]. Only ever 1 at desk staff - had 20 min wait for them to appear when arrived. V laid back - computer left unlocked and viewable for that time. Otherwise polite. Cost OK, but only after taking into account the discount reasonable but only if discounted Located well

Beautiful spacious room in an amazing location. Bed, pillows decor is amazing. We usually choose a hotel with pool, but of thats not important this is an excellent option.

DANGER! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! I tried to cancel my reservation several days in advance but was told because I did not cancel TWO WEEKS in advance, they would charge me for the entire stay! What hotel requires two weeks notice to change a reservation?! And then charges you for the entire stay (rather than just the first night)?! When I went there in person the staff was rude and said it was ‘policy.’ This place obviously has no idea what hotel industry standards are. I recommended Expedia not deal with this hotel any more.

This was the perfect place to stay in Barcelona! The location is unbeatable, just steps away from great shopping and fantastic restaurants. The hotel was spotless, and the rooms were beautifully decorated with a stylish, welcoming vibe. But what truly sets this hotel apart is the staff. Daniel, the manager, and his entire team were absolutely amazing, so accommodating, warm, and genuinely friendly. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! In today’s world, it's rare to find a hotel that truly cares about its guests and goes the extra mile to make sure everyone feels happy and well taken care of. Well done and thank you! We hope to be back again very soon.

Hotels rarely live up to their pictures online but this one exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean with everything you’d need for a stay, even a wine opener. The beds were super comfortable. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Yanna the receptionist gave us some great recommendations. We went back 3 times to one of the restaurants she recommended. Overall very pleased with the experience and we will be coming back here.

The rooms were well-decorated and adequately stocked, although ours had an unpleasant sewage odor. The location is excellent. We encountered an issue on our second night when the A/C was set above our preferred temperature, and we were unable to adjust it from within the room (the first night had been comfortable). I approached the front desk and found two gentlemen there, one of whom seemed to have just finished his shift (I believe his name was Don). I politely asked if we could lower the temperature a bit, but his response was unexpectedly rude. He remarked, “You Americans always do this, the temperature is perfect.” I explained that while the temperature had been perfect the previous night, it was too warm this evening. Despite this, he continued to suggest that the issue was with us, not the room or the hotel. Eventually, he adjusted a global temperature regulator to match the setting from the previous night, but his attitude remained extremely rude, judgmental, and unprofessional.

Small, decorated with taste, very attentive personnel. We were welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine or lemon water, seated while being registred, city Map given with instructions for meals, places to see, etc. Rooms are well designed, marbled bathrooms. Only 14 rooms....wonderful!

Charming, elegant property - a true sanctuary in the middle of a delightful section of Barcelona. We found the staff, especially Daniel, as well as the young woman who served as our afternoon hostess and concierge, to be extremely gracious and helpful. Nice hotel in the old Gothic section of Barcelona. Note that the hotel is in a basically walking only part of the city so you won’t be able to take a taxi to it. You will want rollers on your luggage. It’s also hard to find due to very small signage. Good food at Bar Mono which is just around the corner.

The hotel itself was clean and the staff was friendly. However, it was very difficult to find. I would recommend the place but would not recommend if you are a woman arriving late in the evening. You should be aware of how difficult it is to find and that cars cannot drop off close to the hotel. I had to navigate Las Ramblas for about 20 minutes before finding the hotel which was a bit scary at 1am. That said, the room is very clean and the accommodations and staff was lovely.

Very quiet, access was a little strange (elevator with code plus a code to get to the elevator if gates were locked) but once we did it once, it was easy. Location fantastic but must be good with walking since you cannot just grab a taxi outside. Style of hotel was very nice and the rooms comfortable.

Once we found this little jewel, we had delightful stay. The staff is very kind and helpful, the breakfast was adequate, and the room was wonderful. It was much larger than I expected and the bathroom is very contemporary and roomy. There were lots of restaurants and shopping places all in the general area. It was a great first time experience in Barcelona.
