The location is great as it’s walking distance to many things. There’s a bus to the airport which you can catch across the street which is a plus. The breakfast was decent and the gentleman in charge was very kind and helpful. The rooms could use some upgrading as it was old looking and the bathroom smelled like sewer water. It’s no frills and comfortable but don’t expect amenities like a gym or room service. It’s a small boutique hotel. It was comfortable for our stay.

Bit unsure on arrival as the entrance was behind a big pot leading to a communal yard, but that seems to be the norm in catania, rang the buzzer and got let in. Taken to the room no lift so could be a problem with heavy bag or walking difficulties. The room itself was very nice , spotless but the big thing for us was when we opened the door shutters the view was the hustle and bustle of the street below from the small balcony. Straight across the street was Bellini park , many many cafes and shops underneath and when you look to the right you could see Etna covered in snow large as life between the buildings, what a great sight. We love to people watch so was great for us. If you want it to be really quiet, maybe not for you. We had a great time savio cafe I underneath served great arancina and granita.

The bed in my room at Etna suites was the best hotel bed I’ve ever slept on. I stayed there at the start and the end of my visit in Sicily and the beds were magnificent! The location is great, and very convenient to walking around town. On my second visit I was told that breakfast was served from 7:00 am. Since I had a flight to catch, I was there at 7:00 am for a quick bite to eat before my departure. I was told by the breakfast staff that it was closed. There was already plenty of food set out but I wasn’t allowed to come in for breakfast. I waited several minutes, and finally left.
