Great amenities, attentive staff, nice clean room with a very large and comfortable bed. Yes, it's a love hotel, but dont let that dissuade you. It is not a seedy establishment whatsoever

We were very suprised how much we loved our room at the J Mex hotel and Spa as we have never stayed in a hotel of this sort before. Our room was very clean and we absolutely loved our in room amenities including jacuzzi tub, mist sauna, and big screen TV. We will definitely be staying at the J Mex again. Very short walk to the very popular Godzilla Head, and everything surrounding it.

The amenities were unparalleled! Loved the steam sauna and many amenities like yukata and self care products. Awesome last night in Japan for us with karaoke and NES - so fun!

I like a hot tub after walking around all day but I was trying to do this trip a bit cheaper than my last so I stayed in a love hotel for the first time. And I'll definitely be doing it again. As the value couldn't be beaten. It was clean and very spacious had a hot tub and a sauna when is exactly what I wanted after being on my feet for the first week of my trip. Only negatives arecthat while it is clean it's a bit dated and the location, while close amenities is in the middle of the love hotel area and there isn't much directly around it.

I stayed for three days and the staff was very accommodating. They Brought me more water when needed,helped me figure out the A/C and was so polite and professional. The room was beautiful! I stayed in the superior queen. Everyone worked well and everything was comfortable and clean. I recommend a few paint touch ups around the light fixtures, but that is minor. 10/10 would do again. I recommend making the entrance more visible, I almost walked past it twice.

Extra large room with a steam room and spa bath. Excellent facilities, good location, really quiet area. Only downsides is the lobby was very Smokey and the air conditioning was really loud. Great value for money overall.

I booked this because of the “adults only” element (thinking it would be nice and quiet) and the location (near shinjuku) - without being aware of what a Japanese love hotel was. The amenities in the room (sauna, karaoke) were fun but I would not stay here for an extended period of time. The longer we stayed, we realized the quirky/mismatched decor was mostly there to distract from stains, and although the staff were prompt and kind, it still never felt completely clean. Safety was also a concern as the lock was key based, we were always asked to return the key before leaving, and there was no second lock to prevent anyone from getting in while we were in the room.

Great steam sauna with lots of free amenities! Room smelled a bit like cigarette smoke and needed some cleaning. Furniture and floor showed some wear. Didn't receive a welcome drink as was advertised but that wasn't a big deal.

Very well equipped and spotlessly clean room. Bed is a futon so a bit on the hard side. Roomy for Tokyo. This is a love hotel but honestly it's absolutely fine and the sound proofing was a big plus. I would have no hesitation staying here again. And location was superb.....very close to Golden Gai and the attractions of Shinjuku

The negative: The place showed it's age somewhat, the decor was rather tacky, the sofa and bed could've been a bit softer, the fridge's door shelf was broken, and the bath sink/mirror was poorly lit. Lighting was centrally controlled through a dashboard between the bed and sofa, but it's hard to use from bed, and more so when dark. I didn't get the karaoke to work, but then again I was just curious and didn't spend much time on it. The TV had lots of free VOD movies, but seemingly with poor video quality and without English subtitles (even in parts where the cast spoke non-English). Also, it was slightly annoying having to hand off and retrieve the key at the reception every time I left and returned. Altogether however these things were minor. The positive: Big room and bathroom by Tokyo standards. Big hot tub with strong jets and a TV. Dry sauna right next to the bathroom. Bidet with even more features than what is usually found in Japanese bidets. A mini bar stocked with various alcoholic drinks and even a couple of free beverages. A small fridge for your own things. Free karaoke (see above). Free VOD movies (see above). Lots of free stuff to use/borrow/take, e.g. bath robes (borrow). Even more stuff freely available on request. Great service and very nice staff. Very central location, and although the entrance appeared a bit hidden in an alleyway, I had no safety concerns even at nighttime.

Didn’t realize this was a love hotel when booking. The neighborhood and reception desk was extremely sketchy, but the room was amazing. Sauna and bath were great and the coffee & tea was delicious. The pillows were a bit flat and the condoms were too small, but there was a massage chair in the room with mood lighting & karaoke. Overall definitely worth the price if you’re looking for a cheap stay between hotels.

I think some of the reviews on hotels.com for J-MEX are fake - I would never stay here for multiple nights again. The experience of a love hotel was cool, but not for multiple nights. Pillows/bed are not meant for a comfortable sleep, I ended up using my travel pillow but still had a sore body each morning. That being said, the amenities were nice and the room was certainly spacious.

The rooms were bigger than standard rooms in Tokyo, the amenities were like no other hotel (better than 5* hotel), the staff, although a little language barrier, went way beyond to make sure your stay was comfortable. So clean, in-room whirlpool and sauna made me not want to leave. Quiet area but so much is so close and walkable. Higashi station is like 3 minute walk, and gets you anywhere you want to go in the city (connections sometimes). One thing I would say, if you have more than a backpack, take a taxi from Shinjuku station. I took limo bus into Shinjuku and rolled suitcase to hotel....next time I\'ll take a taxi from the station. It was dark upon arrival, and being my first time in Tokyo, it was a little tense walking to hotel. Don\'t let the area scare you after dark....as soon as I unloaded luggage and walked the area, I saw it was very safe and well patrolled by police. This hotel is amazing, and next time in Tokyo, it\'s a for sure stay here. Don\'t miss this one....it beats any 5 star hotel I\'ve stayed in for quiet relaxation with amenities and staff that can\'t be beat!

This place was truly amazing over. I accidentally left my shoes when leaving for Kyoto and sent a message to them asking if I could get them when I make it back to Tokyo the following week and they said it wouldn’t be a problem at all. Truly amazing hospitality. Would and will be staying again in the future.

This property is being managed well above normal standards. All staff working in the different shifts were very helpful. The dry sauna and oversized bathroom equipped with a jacuzzi could easily beat most 5 star hotels.

Only able to stay there for 2 days. Service was terrible. Recommend only going for a day or 2. The room was ok at least

Amazing service very clean helpful staff

Great location with easy access to Higashi-Shinjuku station. The staff was incredibly thoughtful and attendant to needs. The bathtub was incredible!

I booked this hotel with a non refundable plan. I entered the wrong dates and contacted them right away after the booking, but they were unwilling to accommodate the change.

Beautiful love hotel tucked away on a quite side street in Shinjuku! It is about a 5 minute walk to the nearest subway station, and also a 5 minute walk to enjoy the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku. The night life and dining is first rate, and the location makes it the perfect hub to be able to get anywhere in Tokyo easily by train. We've been here twice, and will definitely be back another time due to the sheer value and convenience.

Good for being cheap. But the bed was hard, theres no windows to look out. I did like the big jacuzzi bath and. Steam room. Also whenever we left and asked for cleaning they would do it. That was nice. The area around isnt very nice but its only a 5 minute walk to better areas

Safe, clean and secure would best describe the property. Very near the Higashi-Shinjuku Subway. The Suica Tourist Card made travel worry free.

房间非常适合情侣情侣入住，设备完善功能齐全。最主要非常有情调。只是不适合这种单身狗。当然如果有幸遇到妹子的话还是不错的。短期入住不错因为没有洗衣房要出去外面不过很近。早餐要自己点都是一些三明治。不过附近有两家早餐餐厅。每次进出都需要把钥匙放到前台不过也不耽误什么。地理位置很好服务业很好。打电话马上会有人上来帮你解决问题。房间相对大很多。很时候情侣短期入住。
