Cedar Lodge

This was a great choice for a Hotel. It sits just a few miles from the Yosemite entrance very easy drive to the park. I was impressed with the general store, gift shop, bar and grill, plus they had three different pools. Great outdoor sitting areas to lounge. This will be my first choice if I go back to Yosemite.

Wonderful property, nice friendly staff, beautiful location with a beach across the facility made it an amazing experience. Well equipped with swimming pool/spa / shops / restraunt

Our one night stay was perfect for getting into Yosemite. The Merced River across the street was a highlight for my kids. The size of the room and spacious bathroom was great. My kids loved the sleepover on the sofa bed. We really wanted to stay an extra night but there were no rooms available. The staff was great and convenient restaurant on premises. My kids also like the game room and indoor pool.

The Cedar Lodge was a great location for a quick Yosemite trip. The staff was super friendly upon check in. They have a store in the main building for anything you may have forgotten and some Yosemite swag. Check in was smooth and there is plenty of parking. The room was a little outdated, but clean, quiet and the beds were comfortable. Nice size in room fridge that kept everything cold. We checked out super early in the morning to get to our hike and there was a convenient drop box outside the main lobby door.

The lodge was wonderful. Comfortable beds and even the pull out bed was comfortable. The river was easy to access and clean for swimming. A great place to land and launch from to explore Yosemite!

Nice clean rooms, check in was easy, lots of parking, the restaurant had both self serve and seating (quite pricey) options, food was good, the hotel has indoor and outdoor pool, Merced river picnic area across the street. This hotel is 30 min from Yosemite Valley, which is so convenient. Will stay here again.

Nice cozy lode near Yosemite. Cool game room and common area. Three pools including one indoor and one adult only, which is nice.

It was beyond my expectations. The hotel provides very impressive facilities along the river in front of the hotel. I felt that I was staying in a resort but not just a hotel. However, the wifi was very weak.

The property overall is excellent, the only dislike we encounter is there’s no microwave in the room. We are early morning hikers and needed a microwave to heat up our breakfast sandwich.

The room was clean and updated. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was soft and super comfy. The indoor pool and hot tub were welcome after a day of hiking Yosemite, in November no less! Loved all the carved bears around the property and stuffed bear collection in the lobby. Great gift shop and grocery store. The restaurant and bar was good too. Yummy onion rings and cocktails, good wine and beer! Lovely river, gazebo and beach across the street. Price was right. Best of all, super close to Yosemite (7 miles). This is my new favorite place to stay when visiting Yosemite.

bathroom and bed work generally clean, but chairs were filthy. Floor lamp was tippy and the lightbulb was dead. I have photos to share.

We had a great time and really liked our room. Clean and comfortable. Tastefully decorated.

Pretty gross. Hairs left all over bed sheets on both beds. Did you wash the sheets?

The breakfast was terrible and expensive. The room was dirty, and the blanket had holes in it. The carpet was dirty.

The girl who checked us in was rude. I felt like I was interrupting her conversation checking in and she was annoyed she had to do her job. Did not smile at all, voice was monotone the entire time. Once we got to our room it smelled like BO, the room was extremely hot. AC extremely loud like I’ve seen other reviews stated. Room itself very outdated except for the mirror next to bathroom seemed newer. One of our beds was very loud and squeaky. Toilet was very slow to flush. Now for the part where it really grossed me out, whoever cleaned our room did not do a good job because there was someone’s bra hanging in the shower. When I went to grab it to throw away there was a beetle hiding in it. The bathroom window was open and no screen covering it so I’m assuming that’s where all the bugs were coming from, there was also what looked to be an old wasp nest in the crevice where the window slides. Our room itself was completely on the opposite side of where the gym and nice pool was. What I’m gathering is that our side was the more run down/older side so I can’t speak for the other side. The indoor pool seemed dirty, we ended up using the outdoor pool only. We had dinner there one night, food was ok, the people who worked there were attentive to filling water and asking if we needed anything. As far as location the location from the Yosemite National park was great. You get what you pay for. There’s not many options for places outside the park unless you’re willing to drive.

Besides the electricity going out. It was a good location to Yosemite. There was mold in the shower. I was not happy with the resturant on-site when the electricity went out they were yelling at customers

The location of the lodge is very good. We like the spacious bathroom. The improvement is they now provide free wifi which was not included. The most disappointing thing is the bedsheets were terribly worn out and looked dirty. The bath towers had dark dirty spot of about quarter size. With the price of nearly 150 dollars per night the guests deserve cleaner and newer sheets.

Nothing in surrounding area for 30 miles except a gas station, restaurant, bar and grill adjacent or at hotel up the road, so stop in Mariposa on your way in. Hotel is in valley so NO cell or wifi service even though they advertise free wifi, there is none. Room was nice comfortable and clean but room coffee was lousy and no place to get coffee until 7 am. Lobby charges $3.50 for a cup. Nice big rear upper level deck at 600 building. Convenient to park.

great location, close to Yosemite with a reasonable price. the Merced river is 2 minutes from it , and we want to swim. the fan in the bathroom and the air condition were very noisy. The Internet access was very slow - unusable

About 15 minutes East of Yosemite’s CA-140 entrance. Room was clean and recently renovated.

Seems they are trying to keep it up, but it seems a few years behind the time…

Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed spending time as a family playing ping pong and billiards in the game room—it was a great way to connect and have fun together. The only minor downside was the weak Wi-Fi and limited connectivity (only two devices per room), which mattered since there was no cell signal in the area. But honestly, being in Yosemite, it felt nice to unplug and enjoy a bit of digital detox. Overall, a wonderful stay for families.

It's very poorly soundproofed

The property had nice pools and was located within a reasonable distance to the park. In terms of space, the double Queen room was great, but the room itself was tired looking. The bathtub was badly chipped, and the AC unit was extremely loud, but having a door to separate the beds from the living room area and two TV’s was wonderful. The children loved the game room, and having a store in the property was a plus. It would have been nice to have a microwave in the room.

We had a large room and bathroom, which was great. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool. Things are getting old and may need repair or replacement soon, like our mattress. Overall we were happy to be near Yosemite and have easy access to the park.

Rooms definitely need to be remodeled. Area was gorgeous. Restaurant are good

Yosemite is full of highs and lows and this is the same at Cedar Lodge. The pool and the location save it from pitiful reviews. The reception staff perform a thankless task (I heard two different customers complaining at reception and I’d imagine they take a lot of negativity due to the way they interact with you when you are not complaining- they are on the defensive when you say hi) but whoever owns this place needs to do some spending to fix the rooms. This review is not about the staff it’s about the standard of the room versus location. If you are thinking about camping or staying in the park in a lodge on a roll matt you will be more comfortable! We booked 2 Queen Beds (spa tub and kitchenette) for three nights. The beds are done. They collapsed as you lay down and were the squeakiest mattresses I’ve ever heard - the sound registered on my Apple Watch! The pillows smell and the linen is old and bobbly. The hot tub (not requested but booked due to availability of rooms) was last used in 1989 - brown sludgy bits came out when we ran a bath for the kids. The hot rings in the kitchen do not heat - don’t expect to be able to prepare a meal in this room! We were a family of four yet we had three spoons, three forks, three bowls - this may be a basic case of staff not caring/morale being low I guess but how can you miss this? The air con is decent, the pool is great for the kids, and as I said, the location is exceptional- just need to fix the basics!

Love the staff! They are beyond friendly and helpful. There is a picnic area across the street right along the river. They have a restaurant onsite with good food. A small market with all the essentials. The gift shop is nice as well. Not too far from the Yosemite NP entrance.

The staff was exceedingly polite, pleasant and engaging. We had a power outage that was potentially quite stressful, however the staff rose to the occasion and maintained a calm air of “apologies” (tho not at all ‘their’ fault), and did their best help the guests in any way that were able. Grace under pressure.

If I could give zero stars I would. First, people should know you will get absolutely NO cell service, can’t make phone calls or send/revive texts, nothing. And when you ask the staff they will lie to you. Same goes for the tv in the room, didn’t work and when I asked for maintenance to come they said they’d send them right away. That never happened, so I called back to which they said the whole hotel wasn’t getting tv service. All I had to do was walk out of room to see all the other people enjoying their TVs. So when I called back their response was “oh yes, I heard her tell you that, I don’t know why she said that.” Second lie. And they never came to fix my tv. Sheets were dirty. I could go on and on. And it was $250/night, pay the extra money to stay anywhere else.

The location is great, but besides it you feel like its a waste of money. The service was bad, they did us a favor at the desk to answer iur questions. Coffee is with payment unless you bring your own cup. No microwave in the room. Breakfast is at cost.

This property is very near one of the entrances to Yosemite National Park. The setting for this hotel is very picturesque. Due to its location, it is easy to arrive at the Yosemite entrance early in the morning and avoid the long line to enter the Park.

This wasn’t a bad place considering the choices in the area near the park. Had a convenient store within the office area and also 2 restaurants(1 open for breakfast and they really get you with only a buffet @21.95 worth about $10) and a bar. A lot here is about convenience because there’s. no walkable options. FYI, Shampoo, no conditioner or lotions. The river across the street in a Parklike setting is nice w some picnic tables and grills.

A decent property on the way to Yosemite's El Portal entrance. OK room. Had to walk to the office to access a microwave which was inconvenient. Nice pool and hot tub, one covered and one open. Nice location across the Merced river.

This was our second time staying at Cedar Lodge and we are so pleased we did. For us it’s all about the location and how near it is to the entrance of Yosemite National Park, and only 25 mins from Tunnel View. Sure there things this hotel could improve on, but in reality it has everything you need, from its location, to its shop on site, its 3 pools, how quiet it is and I’m sure we’ll return here again at some point.

Liked the staffs, environment, the room and the amenities, nearby the river and close to the Yosemite west entrance. Poor wifi, no phone signal, old chairs, bad TV graphics.

Great location to Yosemite Valley.

It is a good option if you want to stay outside Yosemite National Park. It is 20 miles away from Park and requires a re-entry if you are planning to visit park for more than a day. During peak season, it takes 30 to 60 mins to just get to the park entrance. At this hotel there are no elevators, no microwave inside rooms, food options are limited and expensive. Overall, I found the hotel and room neat and clean. The hotel has a store, a restaurant and nearest gas station is 7 miles away towards the Yosemite National Park.

The place is convenient driving 20 -39 mins. distance to Yosemite National Park.

We were happy with this stay. It was nice and clean. The river across the way was nice. Pools were fantastic. Get your towels at the lobby. Wish the coffee was complimentary (instead of $3.25 for a basic cup!) Overall we’d stay again though.

There was no 5G signal and the room wifi did not work. The bathroom door did not close. The hotel restaurant was a joke. For breakfast they serve a continental style breakfast and half the food is inedible, but charge over $20.

Clean room, comfy bed, AC is a plus and fast check in. BUT, strong urine smell in the room coming from the toilet, and light switch turns on the exhaust. Surely wakes up everyone in the room if you are toileting. Room 147. Great location though, 20 min drive to the valley. Check out the river across. Dinner in the restaurant is just OK, and breakfast is buffet only. Pricey but expected. No lunch offerings just FYI.

This place was great. It was such a short drive from the park’s entrance. Their pops were great as well. We frequently had dinner at the grill restaurant there and loved their food!! The fish tacos are great! The staff was very friendly as well.

There are not a lot of options if you want to stay close to Yosemite, and I am generally wary of motels with exterior doors (some bad past experiences) but was pleasantly surprised by the Cedar lodge. It is not fancy or modern but was good enough. Hot tub was clean and hot. Restaurant and bar on site was perfect. Convenience store had everything we needed. Rooms were clean and the beds were ok. Best part is the short drive to the park.

Everything was great except breakfast buffet was terrible. Not worth the price paid. Food was cold and aweful.

I loved this place though it was a bit further of a drive from Yosemite than El Portal. Great amenities! We had fun in the indoor and outdoor pools, and in the river across the street. Parking was great! The restaurant was horrendously slow taking nearly 45 min to receive food. If you order, time it accordingly. The food is good though! Great market in the hotel lobby with lots of options. Rooms were nice although the air conditioning was so loud it sounded like we were next to an airport with planes taking off and landing. It kept my son awake at night. Pools were great - kept warm and clean. The spa was out of service. It would have been better with towel service. (There was no clear towel service.)

Ok to stay one night at this outdated motel Mattress is worn, I had to sleep in the middle to feel somewhat firmer. TV signal was weak so reception was going in and out Breakfast at restaurant is buffet only, $21.99 per person, nothing to rave about Will not stay again

The food was less than average at Cedar restaurant , we ended eating at Parkside Pizza and it was a much better option.
